  1. Most discussion already continued at existing thread starting at:   http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/80540-firearms-agitator-still-waiting-to-fight-gun-charge-embody-case/page-2#entry1184018   - OS
  2.   Lost his job and his FFL business for starters. Assuming those can be definitely linked to the charge, there's the acual damages. Plus of course the more intangible allegations regarding emotional stuff, public repute, etc  for the punitive part.   edit: actually, looks like he's going only for federal civil rights suit so far, which is pretty much all punitive in nature when it comes to the bucks I believe?   - OS
  3.   Yeah, but now there's a fair chance you'll be giving the idiot some of your money.   - OS
  4.   Yup. Official final action at the scene should have been "Sir, you're an idiot and free to go".   - OS
  5. Likely not a better deal than you can find elsewhere, at least in bulk, and especially since you have to pay tax too,   but Academy is shipping ammo now. Free shipping over $39 for limited time, JFYI.   - OS
  6.   "Daughter backing accusation". Nothing in your link regarding that either?   Y'all maybe are talking about the "victim daughter" then? Well of course she must "backing" it or he wouldn't be charged, right?   - OS
  7.   Didn't see anything to indicate that in your link?   His daughter Stephanie posted this on FB on the 11th: "Guys, You deserve an answer to your question. This was a false allegation and unfortunately that's all it takes. My father is a good man, and ALL of his children love him very much and are truly sickened that a person would try to do this to our family. Its not right. You see the love we have for our family. Please don't believe the headline, READ the rest, even the full story states its not true. The one thing that really hurts us is that my sister is heartbroken that anyone could think this of her father. Its a nightmare...please stand with us."   Has she changed her view publicly somewhere? I know that FB page is shut down, guess she did it herself, but don't know.   - OS
  8.   Get another cuppa and read post just before yours. ;)   - OS
  9. So, anyone read the included story in there?  Not very polished, but not bad, and it's a niftier little tale than you might think considering the commercial nature of the product tie in, I give 'em kudos for it, thought it was quite clever.   - OS
  10.   Well, exact meaning parts under owner's "control" is still a bit up in the air as far as interstate travel, maybe, (like does that mean "possess" or "own them back at home", though I'd opine the latter).   But the selling part is quite clear. See what you glean from ATF FAQ's (which are sometimes decalared wrong by ATF itself but never revised -- the blanket notification to shipper is a long-standing incorrect one for example):   https://www.atf.gov/firearms/faq/national-firearms-act-short-barreled-rifles-shotguns.html   - OS
  11.       As I understand it the answer is yes, if you do not also possess the parts necessary for it to be a SBR (ie, a short barrel). It's clear you may even sell the lower, or the lower configured with a 16" or longer barrel, as a normal non-NFA firearm.   The SBR is only under the purview of NFA rules when it is in SBR config, or can be made to be with parts "under the owner's control".   Seems the real gray area would be traveling with a registered SBR lower and any short barrel, like even one on a complete AR pistol. While this would be fine under the normal "constructive possessive" test, according to strict interpretation of ATF rules, it might still be seen as also having a complete SBR. I've never seen an exact answer for that one, though maybe there is one. But not exactly how there could be, since you don't really register the upper with the lower when filing for SBR, I believe you only have to provide caliber and barrel length?   - OS
  12.   Yeah, you'd just shooting your SBR without a stock, which is okay.   Found I think original source of the pic, which explains why they used a registered SBR, just to be uber safe with review:   http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2013/08/18/sig-sb15-pistol-stabilizing-brace-review/   - OS
  13. NM, wrong thread

    Pocket carry

Maybe a bike shop would have a free ruined one laying around or something.   - OS

    Pocket carry

Hogue Jr. Folks do use them on LCP, trim them on top I believe: They come with that one finger groove, which I don't care for, trimmed it off with knife. I imagine you can just use a section of bicycle inner tube also. - OS

    Pocket carry

Even though I'm pretty big guy and wear cargoes with roomy pockets most all the time, anything bigger and/or heavier than my Kahr PM9 with extra mag is just too much for pocket. This with 13 rounds of 124 gr rounds weighs 1lb 10 oz., 4.75 x 6" total outside dimensions. - OS
  17.   Yeah, you'll need to actually be sighting with upper on it to get true feeling for the angles involved.   When you shoulder it and grip it, note your wrist/arm/elbow angle and tension, then move hand off grip holding fist closed at same place and angle beside grip while still sighting in, and then turn fist down about 10 degrees and you can get an idea of the difference on the K2. Maybe it's not enough of a diff to matter to some folks, but I like many others found it a rather dramatic diff. Matter of fact, I think I'd like an almost perfectly vertical pistol grip angle even better with this kind of short LOP.   - OS
  18. No, it's still a handgun at any overall length. Only becomes a non-NFA "firearm" if 26" or more OAL and you add a vertical forward grip. Magically becomes "handgun" again when VFG is removed. None of the federal classification definitions have changed, the 26" OAL/VFG thang is just a interpretive exception to AOW classification definitions. Here's mine in "firearm" config. Without the VFG attached, it's just a pistol again same as my other one: - OS
  19.   Not unless he changes the ass end to holding a stock on first config. Barrel length doesn't matter, federally.   - OS
  20.   Feels great in hand, but the point is the stress of the angles it will put on your arm and wrist with the short length of pull using the brace from the shoulder.   The more upright K2 models alleviate that, it really is an amazing difference for the small change in angle. It's why the AK grip with Warsaw length stock is at same angle.   I had regular MOE grip on mine with the SIG brace, but switched. I even changed to the K2 on my non-SIG braced pistol too, found much improved even when shooting with tube alongside cheek. Anyway, just thought I'd mention it.   - OS
  21.   Now that you've already bought the grip :), I'll suggest down the road you consider swapping it out for the MOE K2. Amazing diff in comfort ergonomics for short LOP. They do make it in FDE so you can keep your color scheme. :)   - OS
  22.   Law Tactical, these things really caught on in a hurry.   http://www.lawtactical.com/ar_folding_stock_adapter_gen_3_p/2014003.htm   With DI you of course can't really shoot it folded though. Well, once. :)  But even then, it can damage the gizmo.   - OS
  23. I believe it's a SIG MPX pistol. Which I guess is an AR, just a piston driven one. http://www.sigsauer.com/CatalogProductList/sig-mpx-sig-mpx.aspx But you can do the same with direct impingement ARs also: - OS
  24.   Same with school property, only permit holders exempt.   - OS
  25. Pretty much what you see, less bulk. That one is mounted with folding adapter: - OS
