Nothing in federal law or even as far as I know in UPS Terms of Service forbids shipping gun parts as long as the part is not the firearm itself. Bigger question is: why did you tell them what was in the package? Also, being eBayer, you could have simply used UPS account to print label and drop it off, no interaction required beyond a nod. If you haven't activated free UPS account yet, then use USPS from PayPal seller account, print label and drop off. It it'll fit in box, you don't need to interact with PO personnel at all. If it won't, you can just drop it at USPS counter without waiting in line. If for some reason you don't know how to do any of that through eBay/PayPal, you can use USPS Click 'n Ship online from their site to pay an print a label, though it's not as cheap a rate or with as many class options as available through eBay seller account. Short answer is: you'll get a doofus about half the time with interaction with any given UPS, FedEx, or USPS humanoid behind a counter. - OS

Reedus' big breakthrough was in Boondock Saints flicks, 'bout as violent gun flicks as any made. Again, I always try to separate the art from the artist, otherwise one misses out on a lot of entertainment in life, but it's just especially blatantly ironic with these guys and gun issues. If they really were that "moral" about it, they'd sacrifice the bucks they make from what largely amounts to the glorification of their use, and often just for pure mayhem. - OS

In 5.56, maybe 150 feet per second less or so with the 7.5".. With the 10.5" already losing about 300 feet per second compared to 16" barrel. 7.5" louder with bigger fire ball, and the 10.5" ain't exactly a slouch in that area already. 7.5" often thought to have a bit narrower parameters for reliability than 10.5" carbine gas length, though with proper specs can of course be rock solid. Most free float handguards use proprietary barrel nut as attachment method, not the conventional delta ring and handguard cap like on your Sport. No, can't swap to Magpul stuff like on your Sport without significant modification back to the barrel nut/delta ring/front cap type config like on your rifle, as AFAIK they don't make any free float stuff, let alone any that fits everybody's free float attachment methods. - OS

80 year old NC gun registry law repealed
Oh Shoot replied to Hershmeister's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Near as I can find, whatever this change in the law is, you still have to get a handgun purchase permit in NC, for FFL or private transaction, and having a carry permit does not negate that. If that has changed, I can't find any credible reference saying so, and certainly none of the state sites show it to be so. I see references to a bill in 2013 that would have nuked the permit, but apparently it didn't pass. Could be wrong of course, but seems this change may only affect the retention of the records? - OS -
Yep, I agree actually. I'm the one who always sticks up in these kind of threads for the art itself, "separating the art and the artist". I always mention Jane Fonda as an example. I don't have to "forgive" the Hanoi Jane part to have also been enriched by any number of her fine movie performances, for example. Sorry about that bro. ;) ;) I mainly just can't pass up irony, especially as relates to the firearm theme of the forum. But can assure you, I'll still enjoy Liam. I love his recent list of action movies, though it's sad in a way that has become his primary metier after so many finer dramatic roles in the past, but that's just IMO, guess he was first corrupted by the Dark Side :) Well, actually likely somewhat more than the sad average of all Americans, as he did have to at least pass an American citizenship test! - OS

Dunno anything about the quality, but the price certainly is damn attractive, hard to build one with decent stuff for much less than that. Here's better link directly to them, see blowups and all: https://www.primaryarms.com/Complete_AR_15_Pistols_s/6686.htm One thing catches my attention right off -- for whatever reason, I don't believe I've ever heard of a 10.5" 5.56 barrel with pistol length gas before? Maybe that's a misprint copied from the .300blk description, dunno. - OS

Don't forget Norman Reedus' recent coming out. It's just so uber hypocritical when the same people who use them extensively to make a buck say we shouldn't have them. Hell, "Daryl" is even gonna make an anti-gun vid. - OS

Yep, this time it's Liam Neeson. “It is the right to bear arms which is the problem. I think if the Founding Fathers knew what was happening they would be turning in their graves with embarrassment at how that law has been interpreted.â€. etc. http://www.inquisitr.com/1477858/liam-neeson-speaks-out-on-guns-his-opinion-may-surprise-you/ While all he makes anymore are shoot 'em ups. - OS

Shockwave Blade Approved ... BUT...
Oh Shoot replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
I'm sure I'll get that when I see it ... that and True Detective are on my On Demand list. - OS -
It's really kind of voodoo how tame they are for a half polymer 9mm heater that small. - OS

Well, sounds like it's not double clicking with single click then, at least not all the time. I had one that was sporadic about it. It's a well known Logitech failure. But maybe mouse is fine and you just get all excited when quoting folks sometimes and click the quote button twice, I dunno. :) - OS

Shockwave Blade Approved ... BUT...
Oh Shoot replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
You'd possibly be the only person in the state that would have it on your arm to begin with. :) But it also begs the question, if you told someone strapped into one to "DROP YOUR WEAPON!!", but he couldn't! :) :) - OS -
Shockwave Blade Approved ... BUT...
Oh Shoot replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
Yep. Or maybe to be more precise, it's only a "firearm" when the VFG is attached. Magically goes back to being a "handgun" when it is removed. None of the federal definitions have changed. There is still no barrel length or OAL minimum or maximum for a "handgun". The 26"/VFG thang is just a narrow interpretative exception to AOW status. Also, can't be concealed on the person in "firearm" mode or it loses that exception. Before the car carry law changed, I actually took it off before transporting (it's QD), as it was technically not a "handgun", "rifle", or "shotgun" with the VFG attached, the only things allowed to be carried loaded in vehicle with permit. Not that any local LEOs were necessarily likely to actually know that, but did it anyway just to cover all the bases. - OS -
Shockwave Blade Approved ... BUT...
Oh Shoot replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
Well, I do like SBRs, but not willing to jump through the hoops before making one and even worse, after. I liked my AR pistol before, but love it now: - OS -

Oh Shoot replied to RAJBCPA's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense

Better looking but that thin ridge misused against the shoulder surely can't be as comfy. - OS -
You mean like, ? Whatever you have over there: Wally, gun stores, Dicks, Gander, Bass, Academy, and of course on line. - OS

Quote button is likely getting a double click instead of single one. Haven't we been though this before with your mouse, or was that some one else? Logitech mouse, right? Single click a folder or file on your desktop. Does it open the folder or file? Then it's actually sending a double click signal (unless you have that set in advanced folder options). - OS

How does anyone know if he has a key or not, without investigation? Especially when the "case" still screams "this is an AR rifle". Also debatable about "having the key/combination". Doesn't say "having the key/combination on the person". Intent of that out seems obviously for other people who may be in temporary possession of someone else's firearm to why they have no access period. It's logical to assume that the owner of a firearm would "have" a key. His case wasn't thrown out on basis of anything regarding illegal search or reasonable suspicion, only that he did indeed have federal license to own a silencer and wasn't required to produce it, or indeed, even have it on his person. He wasn't charged with anything regarding the firearm itself. - OS

I'm wondering if Bosco/SIG and ATF might be having a bit of a disagreement over this one. Might just be a bit more than ATF can swallow and keep a straight face. - OS
