  1. All the years of off and on illegally possessing, just used whatever hollow point I saw first. Did some research when I first got permit and went with Golden Sabre, also 'cause local cops used it. Built up a stash over time so have just stayed with it, don't shoot it up often. I'm sure it will still be adequate if I do my part. - OS
  2. Correct. No one has yet been charged by their use of an unmodified brace as supplied by the manufacturer. Even the Freedom Shoppe extreme anomaly regarding the braces with a folding mechanism and VFG was a matter of ceasing their sale and confiscation from both the store and owners, but no arrests. - OS
  3. Another odd one happened in CT a few months ago, where a certain gun shop was informed that their pistol config was in violation of the NFA. - mainly to skirt CT state law, the config was a brace on a pistol with 26" or more OAL, with added VFG, which made it a "firearm" . - BUT, they used a folding brace, and out of the blue, ATF decided that the over all measurement should be with the brace folded, which of course made the OAL less than 26", and hence with the VFG, it was an AOW. - Note that AFT measures rifles with a folding or extendable stock open to maximum length, so this determination is the exact opposite. https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2018/05/24/oal-brace-folded/ - OS
  4. I don't really fault the decision, just his newest blatant whopper to support it. - OS
  5. Well, Trump said he thought about calling off his Illinois rally but cited the example of the NYSE opening the next day after 9/11. Which of course it didn't. Course not as tasteless as his joke about his bad hair day being a reason to call off his FFA speech same day I guess. - OS
  6. It's the only one that has existed at all since about 60 BC. - OS
  7. Everybody quit watching or something? So, now that we know Rick's a goner, will it happen before the mid season break? Will Daryl become the de facto leader and actually have to speak now and then? Can the show survive long without him? - OS
  8. You never have to requalify on shooting whether you have a normal 8 year HCP or a lifetime one. However, background checks are run every 4 years on all permit holders, but requires no effort on the permit holders part. - OS
  9. "Very old" sort of non-sequitur since it was introduced less than 3 years ago. - OS
  10. Since The Mule got mentioned, here's another promising looking feature from another legendery star/director/producer. Redford says it's the last movie in which he will appear.
  11. Ruger's PC Carbine is outstanding, better than the old Camp 9, will lead market share, so I don't expect it. Ruger almost always adds additional calibers and stylings for a given line, so, I'd posit there will be others soon. - OS
  12. Carry in state parks was enacted long before carry in municipal parks, so you'll probably just confuse the issue with him by stating that and then citing example of non-state parks. - OS
  13. Link fail? - OS
  14. Wow, 6 years ago. And not Fear The Walking Dead either. - OS
  15. Simply looked at his profile. Point is, at whatever age, you give your guns away, you don't necessarily get to shoot them anymore. - OS
  16. That seems a bit premature for a guy who's only 31, eh? - OS
  17. Normal firearms are assets of your estate like any other assets. Can be willed or simply inherited by succession. Interstate inheritance does not require an FFL for transfer either, only of course that the firearm/magazine/etc is legal to possess in the state of the inheritor and that she/she is not legally prohibited from possessing firearms. Can't answer your other questions, but I can think of no advantage for placing non-NFA firearms into a trust of any kind? - OS
  18. She had a CA carry permit for a while in the seventies when she was head of San Francisco Board of Supervisors , after a bombing attempt on her home by a small radical group. She gave it up once the responsible group had been busted. - OS
  19. Federally, they are not "shotguns", but shotshell "firearms", as long a they are not concealed on the person, changed with a pistol grip that shortens the OL to less than 26" (AOW), or of course changed with a stock (SBS). TN has no law that contradicts that, so yes they are legal here as configured from the manufacturer. - OS
  20. For the general offense of going armed, yeah, but oddly, in the parks statute it says simply that the carry offense "does not apply" to a permit holder. - OS
  21. Model 1894 CST:
  22. Yep. - OS
  23. The wording for signage maintenance in parks was removed some time ago. - OS
  24. That's about the size of it. And the sign is sort of "half right". If you don't fall under one of the exceptions (HCP being one of them), weapon possession is still forbidden for you, - OS
  25. That lil carbine is Da Bomb. I love it. Certainly would never have bought a Hi-Point carbine if this had been an option back when. Or maybe not my Kel-Tec Sub2000 either (although it's so unique I might have). So dunno, I'll either have to get one or coerce Garufa to come along every time I wanna pop some caps. Seriously, the thing seems to be just right on dead accurate. And looks like will eat anything. I'll bet scoped once you compensate for exact drop it would be duck soup to pop pert small targets at 100 yards and more too. Even with just the irons or the 1x red dot I could hit clays about half the time at about 75. - OS
