  1. MonkeyLizard's comparison is so good in other thread,  it bears repeating: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8720XS-pquc   - OS
  2. It's a rare modern home that doesn't have a sliding glass door somewhere, which is often duck soup to get into. Hell, even if you have to bust it, can do it pretty quietly -- tempered glass will just crumble into a pile of beads or broken flexible sheet using a glass cutter.   - OS
  3.   He got 960,709 votes in '12, 39.04%.  3 of the 4 counties he won are in yer neck of the woods and the 4th ain't in E. TN either. ;)   - OS

    My piece(s)

Love the old H&R, didn't realize that was maker, as didn't know they made any "cowboy" models. Is it a six or nine shot? I have one of their more common styles, the 922 (nine shot): - OS
  5.     Yep, agree.  It's sort of voodoo how little recoil and muzzle flip my PM9 has for such a small heater.   I too find the LCP to have a much more pronounced bite than the Kahr. Have also shot the Kel-Tech 3AT and both the KT 9mm models, and the Kahr is significantly tamer than any of those three.   I'd say it feels very much the same as shooting the Shield, but of course smaller.   - OS
  6. I've walked by it a lot over time, been a couple of months now though since I have. Never noticed any postings when Valarium or since it changed to International. Can't swear about right now, though.   I have noticed folks patted down at the door more than once in the past when it was Valarium though (never noticed any wanding) --  so I guess their "policy" is likely no weapons anyway.   - OS   edit: this article from November says there's a scan and a pat down at International:   http://www.knoxnews.com/knoxville/music/nightlife-at-the-international-its-all-about-the-details_14889417   - OS
  7.   Hey, you fight like you train, eh?   (I'm sure to be death personified to any foe who rushes the firing line at the range). ;)   - OS
  8. Dunno about y'all, but every time I'm in a heated firefight, I find that I can't keep up with how many rounds I've fired, so the lock back on empty almost always comes as a surprise. So for that short time until I can pop in the next mag, I'm holding an empty chambered club.   Now the Maklarbak magazine can change all that. It locks back with one round still left in mag, so you can hit the bolt release putting the last round in battery before you grab that next magazine. Seems a worthy addition to all of us high speed low drag operators.   http://www.maklarbak-usa.com/   - OS
  9. Heroin was touted as a cure for opium and morphine addiction early on. By 1898 there were any number of patent medicines promising to cure morphine addiction, liberally laced with smack. "Order next weeks treatment now!" Including by Bayer. And they were right, it worked great. - OS
  10. Where is this snow storm? Haven't seen a flake here next door to you. This all happen briefly this am? I was up at the crack of 11. Did it lay in OR? - OS
  11. Consistent with their culture of promoting FUD, the rulings end at 2013-3 on ATF rulings page:   https://www.atf.gov/regulations-rulings/rulings/index.html   - OS
  12.   In the last year and a half or so, I've only gotten the UPS notice. From UPS, not PSA.   - OS
  13.   Even federal bldgs must be posted to be charged -- at least that's what the statute says.   - OS
  14.   Norris Range is right up your alley, in more ways than one. 40 clams a year, June to June, not prorated. Or $20 per visit, sort of a no brainer which to do.   Sign up at Norris Police Dept:   http://www.cityofnorris.com/id9.html   - OS
  15.   They'll almost certainly get more at some point. I bought a bunch from same SG deal about 6 months ago. All of mine seemed to be Romanian at the time, but doesn't much matter. They'll all about the same except for the Yugo bolt hold open ones, which most places sell separately for a bit more.   - OS
  16.   They'll eventually get back in touch if there's still a glitch, otherwise I'd assume you're in rotation for having it shipped.   They stay in biz, indeed thrive, because in general nobody can touch their better deals day in and day out.   - OS
  17.   I've had repeated delivery notifications for items I had received months before, anything is possible with that part of their operation.   - OS
  18. Longer one in The Hive, too How can you possibly say that? - OS
  19.   Well, a giant squirrel. :)   Don't have to put much effort into them, pretty much full grown not long after they're weaned. Compare to Asian countries where they feed larger dogs longer to get more meat.   Just a matter of comparative return on investment.   - OS
  20.   Aztec royalty kept them as honored pets and the lower classes ate them, as had the Toltecs before them, apparently the reason they were widely bred in the first place.   And poor indios in Mexico were still eating them in the 60's, and I can personally attest that they are quite tasty, and perhaps the best use for the neurotic little buggers period. ;)   - OS
  21.   Relatively normal. How did you know they needed updated FFL copy, they call you? Are you trying the FFL inquiry phone number at PSA?   The only FFL glitch I ever had with them (same deal, FFL had moved but not updated their license to new address), they eventually called me about the prob.   - OS
  22.   I agree with David's assessment of you. At the least.   I'm all for anything that foments carry for any lawful citizen in as many states as possible, short of that being at the whim of the Fed.   - OS
  23.   Yup.   I had similar in the body of a thread response, not in sig. Maybe there's lots of them now for all I know, not gonna spend time to look back around and see.   - OS
  24.   Dude.   Other states decide reciprocity for acceptance of the TN permit.  Most base their decisions on the requirements necessary to receive one. Most assert they must meet or achieve their own requirements.   You lessen the requirements for the permit, some states will rescind their recognition of the TN permit. Maybe quite a few depending on what the changes for receiving one entail.   And btw, there is a difference between reciprocity and recognition, but that's another subject.   - OS
