Another EDC carry question
Oh Shoot replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I see it as actually one of the biggest strides in firearm freedoms in TN since 1870. It was absurd that TN law already gave you same castle doctrine rights to you in your vehicle as you have in domicile, yet denied you the wherewithal to enforce as you could in your home, unless you paid for the privilege to do so. - OS -

No permit needed as per last summer. Anyone who can legally own the gun can have loaded guns of any type in private vehicle. Including having round chambered. See above comment. That was for permit holders only, but was repealed, or rather, deleted. But thread is about having loaded/loadable long guns on the person in general public, which remains unlawful for everyone. - OS -
Especially since you can do a 14.5" barrel with welded muzzle device to get to almost exactly same overall length as military without the stamp. Will still be just a skosh longer since standard military birdcage won't quite get there, though. - OS

Yeah, same as with 800x600 before that, and 640x480 before that. I hadn't actually noticed any change, as though while I seldom run any app full screen, guess I was always doing forums at 1200 or more, so never got the scrolling. - OS

I would think that if the carbine can be loaded single shot, and you have a round of that caliber ammo on you, then you're still culpable. - OS -
Protests about what? By whom? - OS

Ludicrous of course. 1. buffer tube on AK pistol does indeed count in legal OAL, so you can add a VFG 2. but you must also add a SB-15 brace 3. but of course you can't shoulder the brace As I've said, I would have bet against 1. But then the Black Aces letter came to light not long ago where it was without comment counted into OAL of a "shotgun firearm". It's funny only the SB-15 is mentioned. How about the SBX. Or of course the SB-47, the main one sold for the AK period (there's a buffer tube in it). I guess those don't count, eh? It has all become laughable at this point. I still say no way the ATF will prosecute anyone for any of this stuff, last thing it wants is actual case law to clarify matters. It's just a continuation of its culture of thuggish intimidation. Hopefully its hand will be legally forced in one way or the other, and all this will lead to simply removing SBR from the NFA, the only sane thing to do in this day and time. And of course same with suppressors. - OS

HB0320 (Matheny): HCP holders privileges same as off-duty LEO
Oh Shoot replied to GKar's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
That was my comment. Leaving the other statutes in place verbatim, without any mention of them in this bill as being superseded, is gray even beyond the traditional gray of TN firearm law. Also, you make excellent point regarding permit holders from other states, bill makes that as gray as possible also. - OS -
That's has only ever been available on TGO in Trading Post and your avatar, even then wasn't available until the switch to IP Board about what, a year and half ago or so. Main forums have never allowed image attachments, only links to offsite storage. Maybe you're describing something in the Mac OS with your own computer regarding image management, dunno. You can use your own webspace provided by your ISP, domain webhosting webspace, or various file storage services. PhotoBucket is perhaps the most popular. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/56680-faq-how-do-i-post-pictures-here/ - OS

HB0320 (Matheny): HCP holders privileges same as off-duty LEO
Oh Shoot replied to GKar's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
So, they'd just leave all the mess as written in the various other statutes? Meaning, since this bill does not specifically mention exempting any of the others, we'd have nice muddled competing statutes as usual? - OS -
Another good episode. Showing them at one of lowest points ever, overall despair was quite palpable. - OS

M855/SS109 5.56 Ban!!! AKA Green Tip
Oh Shoot replied to mcordell's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Most of that was said about the 5.45 7N6 stuff too. Yet it was indeed banned. - OS -
I actually like the episode, btw, thought it was very nicely done and an interesting change of pace from a totally linear plot line. Nice way to blend a bit of the past and also tantalizing hints to a creepy mystery at that compound and of course as always suggesting a sense of foreboding for the future. - OS

So again, though, if you don't carry the paperwork with you, is LE supposed to just take your word for it if this passes? Or does it indirectly demand that you carry it with you, in opposition to federal law? - OS
-
Yep. Just means everything up to 5200 is all out of your pocket, half above that, and then insurance pays all of anything beyond your 6400. Note that is almost certainly per year though, and not "per disease". Its a pretty standard "catastrophic" type plan, but of course sucks for normal health care if it doesn't have cheap co-pays for normal and specialist doctor visits. Probably has some sort of drug discount plan with it too, though. - OS

Have a GP 6 incher. Remarkable increase in accuracy for me, in retrospect wish I had gotten the 6.5" BlackHawk instead of the 4". - OS

What would that be? Like a robe? - OS

Who has ever been arrested for possession of a legally stamped NFA item, except Kwik? And the only reason he was, because he refused to show paperwork. Apparently neither federal nor TN law requires you to carry the documentation with you, since it is after all a federal tax document. Unless this means that TN LE is supposed to just take for granted that your NFA firearm is legally registered (which is not in the wording), what does this bill change? - OS

There's some good very low to fairly low carb "white stuff" though, top of my head: cauliflower, cabbage, turnips, various cheeses, cottage cheese, sour cream, whipping cream.
