  1. Correct, but in the unlikely event the law wanted to get persnickety, the preponderance of evidence would need to be that the loan is only "for temporary use for sporting purposes". So get some witnesses that you pop some tin cans with it or something. And what's reasonable for "temporary"? I dunno. - OS
  2. So our firearm freedoms are based on "practicality"? Hell, even when a law is passed, ie the NFA of 1934, it means nothing if ATF is allowed to simply change it via a completely bogus "interpretation". - OS
  3. "It" is a whimsical ruling, not a law. But to be enforced as if it were an actual passed law, even though it is plain that it does not conform to the actual passed federal law we already have. Now Florida did actually pass a no-bump-stock law, promoted by that staunch 2A governor, Rick Scott. Who will now be a staunch 2A supporting Senator, where as such he can do a lot more damage in the future. - OS
  4. There is no new law regarding bump stocks. Just ATF knuckling under to a DJT whim. - OS
  5. OIC what you mean. Sorry for the incomplete info. - OS
  6. Well, he has his huge metropolis to back him up -- all 1,000 of them. - OS
  7. Nothing in TN HCP law about that AFAIK. You may be thinking of federal LEOSA. Which always has sounded like quite the hassle with lots of rules and qualifying and whatnot to me. - OS
  8. Good Lord, the .22LR is 2.5 cents a round in hand. Never thought we'd see that again! - OS
  9. As Dave mentioned, there are essentially no knife laws left in TN, for general possession and nothing about age, and that is by state exemption, meaning local jurisdictions cannot enact any. The only place I know that "knife" is even mentioned is in regard to committing a crime with a switchblade, which is a separate charge. So always use a Bowie or something to stick up that 7-11. Edit; and of course on school property. - OS
  10. Har har .. what I don't know would fill a large library. - OS
  11. The loss of permit requires being "under the influence" AND that condition happening in a place open to the public that serves booze, presumably whether you consumed it in that place or not. Technically, the "one sip" is a violation but to the point of "under the influence"? Well, that's a subjective determination, not objective like a BAC would be. - OS
  12. In TN, the same condition of "reasonable fear of imminent death or serious injury" is the same, drunk or sober. Your call, then LEO's on scene, then DA's, ultimately perhaps a jury's. Also, after a justifiable defense shooting, one is exempt from any other charges under the section, such as possession with intoxicated, possession without a permit, whatever. - OS
  13. You have a confusing way of putting things, ya know. IF you indeed have an adjustable gas block, I'd go with that, since that's what they are for. - OS
  14. If overgassing is truly the prob, then yes would likely help, though it's a band-aid, where an adjustable gas block would be a cure. Depending on exact symptoms (you quoted a bunch of stuff so not sure which one), another very common fix is to beef up the extractor (if didn't come that way) with extra power spring and/or o-ring. (short dwell time not allowing cartridge to shrink back down so that normal spec extraction fails). - OS
  15. Absolutely awesome. Especially the part about losing fingers! - OS
  16. Never even heard of this, but subject of article in December issue of Guns Magazine: Mentioned in the article is the awesome vid promoting it that Canada had Walt Disney make called "Stop That Tank!" - OS
  17. Same vein as the GOP controlled House voted to repeal ACA ~60 times I reckon. - OS
  18. Inaccurate. Again, it was the most seats the Dems have gained in the House in 44 years. And of course took over the House in doing it. Quite significant, and quite far from "fake news". - OS
  19. I'm simply saying the Dems flipped more seats in the House than they have in 44 years. I think this election was to a significant extent a referendum on Trump, yes. - OS
  20. I didn't put it clearly enough -- Dems gained more seats in House than they have since Watergate ('74 election). - OS
  21. As I predicted, the Tea Party movement tried to do that, but mainly got adsorbed and diluted. The Freedom Caucus is so far its only remaining successor. Which DJT sees as just another obstructionist entity to him. I truly believe most Americans are still overall moderates. Perhaps passionate on certain issues, but in general disenfranchised by the polarization of the two parties that now exist, and I think Trump will chase more away than he attracts, leaving the GOP crippled, especially if the Democratic Party will come back more toward center as it used to be (so was the GOP, btw). The fact that the House just flipped more seats than anytime since Watergate should be a clue. Somehow DJT saw that as "close to a complete victory". Right. - OS
  22. I'll give you that. He won on filling an inside straight in WS, MI, and PA, caught the Dems sleeping because of distaste for Hillary and desperate desire for the end of business as usual. - OS
  23. DJT is destroying the GOP. Many of those abandoning the party will not return to it after he's gone for some time if ever. I wouldn't be surprised to see a Dem Triumvirate for the next decade or more starting in '20. - OS
  24. Military one of the few professions trained to use guns, so it's always relevant in that sense I guess. If he were merely a carry permit holder, that gets played up in similar vein. Plus, both are supposed to be the good gun guys, so always a bitter irony there too. - OS
