  1.   Trespass is not a civil issue, still a criminal one.   - OS
  2.   Well, I of course have no info. Maybe they're just now starting to phase it in. Obviously have to at some point. No mention of it on TNDOS HCP site, but that never surprises me.   - OS   edit: update: see thread:   http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/86490-have-the-fees-for-hcp-changed/   With link to interim pricing structure:   http://www.tn.gov/safety/handgun/handgunfees.shtml   - OS
  3.   I saw that, I just didn't remember her getting any the first time when Plump said she could use the allotted amount, so thought she was just getting around to it, maybe a good cover reason for being in there.   - OS
  4. Well, I believe it was Daryl who thought it was a W also, since he asked right after they killed it. :) Looks like a Dubya to moi too. ;) - OS
  5.   State Parks are easy enough to find:   http://bit.ly/1F5GU0q   - OS
  6. What good does that do in most states? Unless you also mandate that each state also cranks up an ammo factory?   - OS
  7.   Oh, so shows she double dipped into the chocolate stash? I missed that.   - OS
  8.   Yep. He said he'd sign it if it got to his desk, so he ain't lying if it just doesn't get there, as usual.   - OS
  9. BeeYooTiFul heater, man!     Btw, it's Tim Thurner. ;)   - OS
  10.   I thought Plump told Carol she could have x amount and told her where to get it?   - OS
  11. If Walmart "caves" on anything, it's because of spreadsheet micromanaging out of Bentonville. Obviously, if "public opinion" were at the heart of it, no better time to dump "assault weapons" than after Sandy Hook. Hell, they've periodically even stocked Lanza Bushmasters since then.   If there's enough profit and they could get the permits, Wally would sell both fertility and abortion kits side by side OTC.   - OS
  12.   The RK show under topic is generally reported as the largest in the state, maybe every other month or so, switches back and forth between Expo Center and Jacobs Building at Chilhowee Park.   Except for a smaller one at the Shriner Temple once in a blue moon and the Smoky Mountain Collectors show (once a year) that's about it. There's also one in Maryville once in a great while, never heard anything but ho-hum regarding it.   - OS
  13.   With a permit, yes, 39-17-1313 does.  Doesn't prevent them from firing you for it, though (or being expelled from a school),  just exonerates you from prosecution for violation of posting law, or possession on school or park properties.   - OS
  14.   Recently?   - OS
  15.   Though I don't see the provision exactly spelled out in the new statute that goes into effect in 2016, looks like they are pro-rating the renewals to coincide with birthdate.   I'll bet yours is for 3 years instead of the 5 that will take effect later?   "[Effective January 1, 2016 or earlier, see Compiler's note]    (3) Notwithstanding this subsection (n), every handgun carry permit issued or renewed by the department on or after the effective date of this subdivision (n)(3), shall be issued for a period of five (5) years and shall expire on the permit holder's birth date. The commissioner shall issue an initial permit or permit renewal for three (3) to seven (7) years, whichever number is necessary to ensure that the permit will expire on each subsequent birth date of the permit holder that is divisible by five (5). It is the intent of this subdivision (n)(3) that after the initial renewal, the renewal date for persons who have both a handgun carry permit and a driver license be the same date. The fee for any original permit and any permit renewal due under this section for a permit issued or renewed on or after the implementation of this act shall be prorated to reflect the appropriate fee for a renewal cycle of greater or lesser length than five (5) years."   - OS
  16.   Tell friend he shouldn't spread rumors. Fees can only be changed by amending 39-17-1351 in TCA and that has not happened.   As a matter of fact, starting next year, unless they do indeed raise the price at some point,  the overall price will be cheaper over time,  as the permits will be for 5 years instead of 4, at the same price.   Above statement is wrong. Price will be the same for the 4 year period. However, the 5 year cycle will indeed cost more than 115/50.   - OS
  17.   I assume nothing has changed. You don't need to resubmit a birth cert to renew by mail.   - OS
  18.   Wow, that must be quite the modification. And took away the folding ability already built in to it. :)   - OS
  19.   Anyone not prohibited from owning firearms may possess loaded firearms in their personal vehicle.   Does not however, override school property or posting prohibitions as does doing same with a permit.   - OS
  20.   Well, hush my mouth, sorta. Thnx for report.   - OS
  21.   Okay, here are some facts --  ATF's own published numbers: Most recent, 2012.   https://www.atf.gov/statistics/index.html   NFA forms processed, 137,649 or over 2600 per week.   Also, look at huge increase in last few years, so it's obviously significantly more currently.   Both me and Dolo way off. But also not in even the neighborhood of the ballpark of $1.2 million/week, either, even if it has grown to 3,000-3500 per month.   2012  137,649 2011  105,373 2010  91,949 2009  86,753 2008  72,808 2007  66,560 2006  57,783 2005  41,579   Not sure I get this part, though:   Number of NFA firearms Processed by Fiscal Year: 1,112,041. That must include military and LE I guess?   - OS
  22.   The Gunshow never uses the whole available space at the Expo and there is sometimes a second function going on there.   Didn't go, but feel safe opining it is same size as always.   - OS
  23. I expect cheaper 9mm to evaporate soon too. Whole thing is very much like the days between Sandy Hook and Manchin-Toomey in that even things that weren't remotely under consideration for banning were all snapped up.   I'm actually more than a bit surprised that all Russian ammo has not been embargoed. Yet.   - OS
  24.   Guess so. But it does lock up effectively both open and closed. And as I mentioned, once against the shoulder, the play doesn't seem to really matter as for function. Certainly not wonky enough that I personally would likely pay 4 times the price to better.   If it ever gets so bad it hinders effectiveness, guess I might go another route. Or just forget the folding part entirely and run straight buffer, as the grip adapter is rock solid.   - OS
