Seems the cheap Perfecta is all in Middle TN? - OS
-
Yes. 18 or older, legal under both federal and TN law for both seller and buyer as long as both of you are TN residents and it occurs inside TN. As of last summer, you may now carry one loaded, handgun or long gun, hidden or in the open. Any adult who is not prohibited from owning guns may have firearms in whatever condition in their private vehicle in this state. However, note that does not override the possession in vehicle on school property or posted lots -- that still takes a carry permit for the exception. Welcome to TGO! - OS

The mags are the Achilles Heel for Hi-Points, carbine and pistol. Unlike GunWhatGun's experience though, I find that the lips get too far apart over time and have to be squeezed back together. When too wide, the top round will sit flat rather than have the slight upward angle necessary to feed. The feed lips are more responsible for that than the follower. I've fixed more than one at ranges for folks who were having jamming difficulties. I actually keep mine such that the rounds are literally somewhat difficult to load squeezing them past the front of the lips, indeed I load all but the last round by mostly putting the carts in butt down and turning back to the near horizontal rather than sliding them in horizontal to begin with. - OS

We who have spent much time at the TWRA John Sevier range here all have our fav anecdotes about management idiocy there, but here's yet a new doozy. Bit long to paste and also from courtesy as didn't get permission to, so just the link. (the "asinine" part really caps it off :)): http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=8&f=38&t=578652 - OS

R, the protagonist in Warm Bodies? (he feels somewhat alive when he eats a brain, as he perceives memories of the victim). - OS

No idea what kind of hicap mag the guy got to work in #7. Or maybe it just doesn't. I noticed when grabbing pix it was a .380, not that you can tell from the size since they are same as the C9. - OS

For C'sake, at least pick one that isn't openly anti-gun. - OS

Just can't get enough Hi-Point goodness? - OS

Sleeping with the fishes is the expression. But then again, it is Putin we're talking about. ;) - OS

There are plenty like them in CO. How do you think enough libs got elected to impose various firearm restrictions in what was not all that long ago as free a state in that regard as most anywhere in the US? - OS

If that's to me, I should perhaps explain I was referring to the underlying reasons for the degree of community response to the original Michael Brown/Darren Wilson event. Certainly didn't mean to imply that any previous or certainly this latest violence was "acceptable" in any way. Edited above post for clarity. - OS

Electrician in Union County told me this one from when he worked for the county electric: Lady kept calling in that spirits were getting into her house trailer through the electrical wiring. Finally this guy was dispatched to go talk to her. At wits end, he finally told her that in rare cases like this, the only solution was to cut the power for a day or so to break the connection to the spirit world. So he kills it at the pole or wherever, says to call in when the spirits are gone and he'll turn it back on. Like months later, after he's forgotten about the whole thing, he's sent back out there, lady been living without juice all that time. Lady told him the spirits hadn't left until a few days previously! - OS

ATF raises new concerns about AR-15 ammo
Oh Shoot replied to Oh Shoot's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Tactic seems to be to not ban guns at all anymore, just make them empty. - OS -
Yep, plenty of blame to go around. The same identical Michael Brown shooting situation could have occurred in hundreds of jurisdictions without the degree of resulting hoopla that occurred in Ferguson, but for the prevailing and apparently justified sense of community outrage already in place there. - OS

We just don't know at this point. Could have even been someone who was quite competent with firearm, but sights were a bit off for whatever reason. Both officers hit on right side, one could have been intended as center head shot, the other as center mass shot, perhaps the missed shots were first and the shooter compensated on the ones that scored. All of course pure speculation of possibles. - OS

ATF raises new concerns about AR-15 ammo
Oh Shoot replied to Oh Shoot's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
My comment was only that folks were also making AR10 type pistols before "pistol" buffer tubes were ever really marketed, so they've been around for a good long while, like some even pre AWB (nothing unlawful about a pistol config using a carbine or rifle receiver extension). Although ATF seems to have made a distinction between whether a certain caliber pistol is commercially available or not. Which of course, AR10 ones are these days. - OS -
My First AND Second class 3 are on the way
Oh Shoot replied to gomer pyle's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
Extra ones don't matter either. If any stock in the mix of all your stuff is kosher, they all are. Parts do not have to "match" guns one to one, extra parts are fine. "An NFA firearm is made if aggregated parts are in close proximity such that they ... serve no useful purpose other than to make an NFA firearm or convert a complete weapon into an NFA firearm". - OS -
ATF raises new concerns about AR-15 ammo
Oh Shoot replied to Oh Shoot's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Lots of folks have configured AR10 pistols, and for a good while now. "Pistol" buffer tubes are not required. - OS -
Well, there's no doubt Walmart decisions are mad by micromanaging spread sheets out of Bentonville. Just didn't know how micro some of it may be. - OS

Have the fees for HCP changed???
Oh Shoot replied to jbrownch's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Hell, you won the lottery. All they have to do with you is charge for 5 years instead of 4 on the HCP and change expiration date to your birthday and you're already in sync with the new rotation. Assuming they do that though, you'll get fudged out of about 5 months on the price though. :) - OS -
Yeah, obviously some store by store promotion, however that is determined. Just toddled over to my nearest Wally. They only had Perfecta 9mm (13.97) and .45 (18.97), same as MphsTiger reports below. Further shows lack of consistency across the state. Both Tula .223 and 7.62x39 have been 5.47 both here and in Nooga for some time, ever since they bumped it up from 4.xx some while ago. - OS

Of course it just ain't gonna end, folks: 'In a Senate Appropriations Committee hearing, ATF Director B. Todd Jones said all types of the 5.56 military-style ammo used by shooters pose a threat to police as more people buy the AR-15-style pistols. "Any 5.56 round" is "a challenge for officer safety," he said. Jones asked lawmakers to help in a review of a 1986 bill written to protect police from so-called "cop killer" rounds that largely exempted rifle ammo like the 5.56 because it has been used by target shooters, not criminals.' http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/atf-raises-new-worries-about-ar-15-ammo/article/2561422 - OS
