Note that the 5 year birthday cycle thing means that renewals will settle in at 62.50, so break even point for that 21 year old is exactly, um....well, a bit younger. ;) - Oh "math challenged" Shoot

Benefactor status allowed you to edit it with the old vBulletin software regardless of how many posts you had, dunno if it changed with the IP Board changeover, but. FWIW, I can still do it now, too. My Profile -> Edit My Profile -> Profile Information -> Member Title - OS

Secret meetings may be cause of gun bill failures
Oh Shoot replied to Worriedman's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Yep. Hard enough to prove one was terminated for discrimination among the various protected classes, likely even harder to prove this one I'd think. Also wonder if it would be in conflict with whatever statutes determine TN's at-will-employment stance? - OS -

What prevents you from seeking damages for that now? And what would that bill change? - OS -

Well, permit still needed for other states. Of the 4 or 5 that now have full constitutional carry, only VT does not also issue an optional permit and I'd assume that TN would continue to do so. - OS

Vermont. Also Alaska. Wyoming too, but for residents only. Now Arkansas seems to, but not completely clear there apparently? - OS

Probably nothing, just keep being the conduit for the Pardner Pump models if that's still advantageous I guess. Maybe they can spin it off to someone else or something, who knows. Btw, there is no official announcement of this, but so far seems valid from various info you can ferret out. - OS

Same as I do out and about, Kahr in the pocket. Unless I don't get dressed and go out at all, in which case I have loaded pistolae here and there all over the place. :) All of which are secondary choices if there's time to grab the shotgun, though. - OS

Btw, looks like H&R has, or will be, ending production of all single shot rifles and shotguns. Supposedly the barrel program actually ended some time ago, even though website shows nothing about any of this. - OS

Help Overturn 18 USC 922(o) & NFA
Oh Shoot replied to JohnC's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
For me personally, sure, it would be great to see any repeal of any federal firearm law, but it's hard to get "excited" about making this niche genre more widely available under NFA registration. Now, actually removing something from NFA entirely, like SBR/SBS/suppressors (or the full auto) that would "excite" me. Just speaking for myself, since I wouldn't avail myself of it, but seems vast majority of firearm owners probably feel that way. Again, not knocking it at all, and I would be quite glad for folks who want to get a more affordable auto weapon, and also for the fact that since the Hughes amendment was not enacted lawfully in the first place this would at least be overturning a small piece of tyranny that masqueraded as legislation. - OS -
Another Bizarro from John Sevier Range in Knoxville

Most don't have that luxury, so they have to use places like John Sevier. Or indoor ranges, which I hate -- I'd pretty much give up shooting if I had to do it all indoors. - OS -

One of only two public outdoor ranges anywhere around here, and close in. Norris is about 30 miles from center of town. Where do you shoot? - OS -
Yeah, could be additional Class A meanor for the possession while under the influence, but the 3 year suspension is only if you're convicted of it while you were inside a place selling alcohol by the drink. Of course, you lose your HCP for term of sentence for any Class A meanor. - OS

You never heard of the (in)famous Tanning Mom? https://www.google.com/search?q=the+tanning+nut+lady&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8#newwindow=1&q=the+tanning+mom - OS -
(That image is only a tiny unreadable icon and seems you meant to include others which failed), but anyway, whichever way makes the round point upward at about 30 degrees or so. I personally have never had to tweak the rear of the mag spacing, only the front lips, and always closer together. If the round lays flat or close to flat in mag, it will fail to feed, nose into bottom of chamber ramp. Need to push the top round off and make sure the next ones pops up correctly too, don't just rely on getting only the top one in correct orientation. I discovered this early on, when I first got a C9. Took it out and fired a hundred rounds, perfect. Then loaded up the three mags I got at home, next time out nothing but problems. What I discovered was that I had used an UPLULA loader at home, and had spread the lips apart with it, as the HP mags are thin steel and the loader is optimized for double stacked mags, easy to come down wrong on narrow one, especially one with thin walls like the HP. I also had a couple of my carbine's mags just gradually spread apart on their own over time enough to fail, and tweaked them also. - OS

Very limited what you can do there. - no "fast firing" (which seems to be anything quicker than one every 5 seconds depending on the doofus in charge any given time) - 100 yard max - shoot only paper, of course - closest target stands are I believe at 10 yards. Whatever they are, too far for close defense point shooting practice - gawd knows they'd probably try to arrest you if you actually tried draw and shoot practice etc - OS -
As far as simple savings or CDs, nobody beats online right now, not even in the ballpark. Savings at 1.05% at GE Capitol Bank currently, my stash right now. Just need a checking account somewhere to shift bucks back and forth, preferably with net access to it of course. https://www.gecapitalbank.com/en.html - OS

In the Norris watershed boonies, run by Norris PD, in this area: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Upper+Clear+Creek+Rd,+Andersonville,+TN+37705/@36.2283589,-84.0502293,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m2!3m1!1s0x885c444672179493:0x223e075d2fe762dc You have to sign up at PD back in Norris. $20 per visit or $40 for whole year! Thing is, year runs June 30-June 30, fee not prorated. You get a key to gate. Open every day except for two weeks (not in a row) in fall for deer hunts. 6 or 8 covered tables on rifle side, target stands at 50, 122.5, and 200 yards. Two different pistol areas. Great place to shoot. - OS -
But of course you will voluntarily pay it as per TN law as do we all, right? ;) - OS
