  1. Well, though I agree with Rick's POV over the long run, he's really totally turned me off for the first time. Worse than just being crazy like back when he was seeing his dead wife and whatnot, now he's a crazy dick. Personal involvement with wife beating thing, threatening your town folks with a heater while screaming at them, the whole thing is just absurd if your goal is to really change things. Just acts of a stupid violent man.   Guess Michonne felt same way. :)   I suppose the writers will find a way to vindicate him, but he's officially on the outs with me. ;)   - OS
  2.   Still "acting" I reckon. Mad Max is "in charge" of one division only, though, not whole shebang.   Begs the question though, with a fully confirmed chief of entire ATF over the last two years, why are there still division heads in only an acting capacity? AFAIK, only the head cheese has to be confirmed by Senate.   - OS
  3. Yes.     Yes.       -  Nobody has been hammered for "constructive possession" in 23 years unless they were clearly in violation -  A pistol tube does not make you immune, same conditions apply regarding all your parts -  No intent is required whatsoever to be in violation - you have either "made" an NFA firearm or you have not, and you don't have to have actually constructed it to have "made" it.   All, that said, note that my "kit" you referenced in post 12 was back during the panic when AR stuff was hard to get and pricey when you could. Everything AR is cheaper now than it has ever been, so it's not much of an outlay to use a dedicated lower/tube, and I have to admit a "pistol" tube has a certain aesthetic appeal, sort of looks more "complete" or something. And even with the flurry of bizarre ATF opinions regarding various of them on various platforms, folks are still using braces (including me), and none of them will fit on a carbine tube.     - OS
  4.   Could have been cold piss for all I cared at the time. Probably pert close to actual death by alcohol intoxication I figger. Amazing how much straight tequila it's possible to knock back in a short period of time when the schnapps takes the bite out of it.   - OS
  5. Big shots of tequila with splash of peppermint schnapps, knock 'em back neat. Was already quite the pro drinker at the time, but I got so sick drunk spent hours laying in shower with the water on.   Didn't put me off tequila but to this day I have somewhat of an aversion to the smell of peppermint.   - OS
  6. Mine's built in (Stellar Rigs): - OS
  7. Gawd knows it's a damn rare purty thing to be found in Bayonne.   - OS
  8. Glanced at a couple of big city requirements, sure enough, green card only needed in Chicago to be a cop. Don't even have to have applied to be a citizen, as even LA requires.   So probably any number of others around the country too?   - OS
  9.   Don't you need Outlook or a special app on the other end to read it?   - OS
  10.   All firearms since 11/30/1998 purchased from FFLs are run through NICS in all states, and also fingerprints have never been required for 4473. Some states require them (TN used to). But not passed along to the feds for the NICS background check.   So the explanation you were given just doesn't hold water, had to have something to do with just NH I reckon.   - OS

    Glock Teaser

Only meh from moi -- reckon I'll just hang onto the 6+1 9mm Moonie in my pocket. ;) - OS
  12. I never liked mowing, hated it early on. Growing up, thought it was mostly because of the repetitive nature of it, such a lot of work for a temporary fix. But then when I started living with wood stoves, I actually enjoyed sawing, splitting, and stacking firewood, so that disproved that theory.   - OS
  13.   Good catch, missed that glancing over his creds.   - OS
  14.   Should have been 62.50 (or 75.00)?   - OS
  15. Profile of new acting head, Thomas E. Brandon. At least he didn't get there by being a lawyer, and was a Marine. https://www.atf.gov/content/About/ATF-executive-staff - OS
  16.   That's a surprise really. First actual director in 7 years and he didn't even last two.   In the light of all the bizarre niche opinion letters coming out of ATF over the last couple years from still "acting chiefs" that contradicted recent previous ones and what not, many of us have opined that the agency seemed very fragmented as to actual direction and management, with even the division names being changed around and etc.   I wonder if the M855 flap really had all that much to do with it.   - OS
  17. I use Pegasus stand alone email client with all emails on my puter itself, so easy to just tag them all and forward. Have options for simple forward with each as separate email, or better, start a new email with all of them as attachments, or do as one email in MIME digest form.   I don't use DropBox, but seems that would be a pretty clunky way of doing it. Guess you'd have to save each one as a text file or something, or copy/paste them all into a doc. But then you'd lose all the extended headers, which might be important if they are needed as proof of something or other showing the actual routing.   - OS
  18.   This is TNDOS red headed stepchild division,  man. They just replaced their abaci a few years ago.   - OS
  19.   Most do it by mail. They auto send you the form maybe 90 days or more before expiration, if you want to do it earlier you can call and they'll send you one sooner.     - OS
  20.   Well, "rate" stays same, but they're already being "staggered" until you synch with the 5 year birthday thang.   - OS
  21.   Again, the five year renewal is 62.50. Price stays same, just a longer period.   Some will pay more or less than the 115.00 on original permit also.   - OS
  22.   So, like you took a tractor trailer over there? ;)   - OS
  23.   Interesting. And pretty sad.   Here's layman's guide, checker, how to nuke:   http://www.cnet.com/how-to/lenovo-superfish-adware-uninstall-fix/   My ThinkPad laptop is maybe 3 years old, doesn't have it, and neither does my quite new Lenovo ThinkCentre desktop. Thanks for the heads up.   - OS
  24.   To TICS, yeah.   - OS
  25. If you still want one of the best, ThinkPad. Lenovo making them still about as well as did IBM.   - OS
