Simply compare your bills before and after price change, at least you can see where the charges are before you go all Don Quixote. There are rate increases every year. There is also of course the hike once your initial "deal" limit expires. - OS

Different strokes. I was tired of whole thing, had just become comic book stuff, but the Craig series revitalized the genre for me. - OS

Need help keeping an eye out for something
Oh Shoot replied to Luke E.'s topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I dunno about the painting as regards manufacture, but to sell/transfer guns or to do gunsmithing is the same FFL, Type 1. I don't know if you need two of them to be able to do both? (but I don't think so?) - OS -
Some clues for my next project

I guess you've looked into it, but is the resultant "cartridge" going to fit under however they define a "slug"? Meaning if bullet sticks out the end, is it still a "slug"? Basis for question is that way back when rifled barreled shotguns were first proposed, they fit under the DD >.5" barrel thing, and ATF gave ruling that ones that shot "shotshell slugs" were still considered shotguns and not classed as DDs. - OS -
And those hours: From TCA 39-17-1316: "The Tennessee bureau of investigation shall establish a telephone number that shall be operational seven (7) days a week between the hours of eight o'clock a.m. and ten o'clock p.m. Central Standard Time (8:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. (CST)), except Christmas Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Independence Day, for the purpose of responding to inquiries from dealers for a criminal history record check under this section." - OS

Except they don't breathe, so no breath. ;) Oh, well, I mean it is a zombie saga. I just think a bit of pseudoscience thrown in for the "rules" would enhance the suspension of disbelief. Fortunately, I get as much from the human parts (both among group members and their opponents) to enjoy the series without nitpicking the logic of the zeds. The writing and character development is really good enough that I think the series could have survived without the zeds at all -- just our heroes dealing with the good and bad humanoids left after some great cataclysmic die off that wasn't even zombie dependent to have happened. - OS

Everybody from time to time gets massive quantities of zed goo all over them from brains to blood and guts. Everybody is beat up with cuts and minor wounds, not to mention the permeable barriers of eyes and nasal and mouth mucosa, getting some down the gullet, whatever. And nobody seems ever in a hurry to even clean up after getting sloshed. Yet any bite that breaks the skin is 100% fatal. I guess they really do have fangs with separate zed juice. - OS

Think of what a medical facility has to pay out when an operation is done on wrong part of body, even when the results aren't devastating. - OS
-
Yep, best deal I ever got. Anywhere. You'd think if they were gonna offer lifetime carry permits, they'd do some sort of age-related pro-rated price break. Idiots. - OS
-
Which is all pretty absurd, as a bite would simply transmit whatever goo is in the mouth around it. Unless they want to say that being a Zed means you develop some sort of specialized fangs with subcutaneous venom sacs or something. - OS

Generally agreed you do for school property with intent to go armed (loaded) and most certainly for any lot posted under 1359 or 1311. The intent to go armed is the diff between the paragraph you pasted and the one above it which you did not, in 1309. 1313 gives you an out for that, but requires a carry permit. Otherwise there's no reason for the two almost identical paragraphs in 1309 regarding firearms, with separate penalties. - OS

Yes. - OS

I assume by "NFA form" you mean the NFA exception on the 4473 in box 22. I don't know TICS rules for that. TICS wants to check serial number, unlike NCIS, so maybe has to still be submitted but they just don't pass it along to NICS, I really have no idea. If nobody else replies you might ping Mike (LawEnforcementSalesTN) to respond here, since he handles NFA transfers frequently. - OS

Cool, but pretty sure the AG will say it's only an exception to 1307. Because, you know, that's what it says, only an exception to illegal possession via going armed in general. That doesn't mean that going armed on school property for example also fits into that, sans some other exception (which permit holders have within their vehicles). Also, the other statues don't necessarily require going armed as a condition to be in violation. Here's my constant point that nobody ever really has brought up: the parks statute only prohibits weapons mentioned in 39-17-1302. I have never seen any justification for authority to prohibit normal handguns period. To be in violation according the statute, you would have to be in possession of: "(1) An explosive or an explosive weapon; (2) A device principally designed, made or adapted for delivering or shooting an explosive weapon; (3) A machine gun; (4) A short-barrel rifle or shotgun; (5) A firearm silencer; (6) Hoax device; (7) Knuckles; or (8) Any other implement for infliction of serious bodily injury or death that has no common lawful purpose." Certainly normal GCA handguns have various common lawful purposes and are not even mentioned specifically in the first place. - OS

Might as well ask if the new provision in 1307 exempts one from any other restriction, such as guns in vehicle on school property or 1359 posted lots too, just to get a comprehensive overview. - OS
-
Maybe it was justifiable, too. ;) - OS

Another one of those mystical guns that go off with unerring deadly accuracy when you drop them. Maybe the cat managed to shoot him. - OS

If all that were valid from prosecution point of view, then they would never have needed to revise 1307 in the first place. Or give a special exception in 1313. Or keep the provisions regarding school possession in 1309. I think yours is more of a "should be" constitutional POV. And hey, another twist, what about a motor home? Isn't that same as having your home along with you? - OS

I do about half at Sam's, especially the meat. It's much cheaper, can save 25% or more over Kroger and often better quality cuts too. But Kroger gets the other half. - OS

Eddie Smith, my new oh so conservative rep. He did get rid of Commie Gloria Johnson, but piffle.

You can thank the local union there for that. - OS

I don't see why. It's only an exception to 1307, not 1311 (or 1309 or 1359). - OS
-
Absolutely wrong. No idea where you could get such a fanciful notion. Be sure to inform them of that in NJ, MD, NY, Kali, etc etc. ;) Absolutely correct. And not just with handgun carry issues, but with all laws of course. - OS
-
However, just like Buff mentions for IL, here a permit is still needed to be able to do it on school property or posted lots. - OS
