Memphis Gas Station Attack(video)
Oh Shoot replied to Erik88's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Hell, he was already rushed by as many as could get a hand on him, and more. I'd imagine that if the first noise didn't scatter them, about the time the 3rd or 4th body hit the ground, the rest of the crowd would get the idea toot sweet. - OS -
Is it difficult to hunt with an AR pistol? (300 blackout)
Oh Shoot replied to maroonandwhite's topic in Long Guns
?? You can have loaded long guns in the truck now. Anyone not prohibited from firearm possession by law can. With a permit, can even do so on school property or posted areas. - OS -
Memphis Gas Station Attack(video)
Oh Shoot replied to Erik88's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Report said victim said "almost made him pull out his gun". Unclear if on his person or back in the car. Can tell you that at the latest, by time a second perp started pummeling me, I'd have been shooting into nearest body parts in every direction I could point at. - OS -
They're all pointing to the test sight "test.tngunowners.com". - OS
-
Gotta be something with the new test version, Mikey, I hadn't caught that thread before posting.
-
.... edit: okay, never mind, I hadn't read about the new test site yet, guess it's just a glitch involving that.

Yep. They're run into July sometimes. In fairness though, the session is officially limited to 105 days max, and they don't receive any daily expense money for days beyond that. - OS

Norquist reelected: http://mediamatters.org/blog/2015/04/13/grover-norquist-reelected-to-national-rifle-ass/203257 I can't find a printed list of whole new board makeup. In vid, he seems to announce all the new and re-elected members, but guess I'm confused about how many we voted for (25 I believe) compared to how many were actually to be elected. Or something. - OS

They apparently had them there: http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2015/04/daniel-zimmerman/remington-rm380-so-far-so-good/ - OS

Surely it's cross referenced somewhere along the line with SS number? If so, you'd have to be really off the grid to escape, like never having had one.? - OS

None of that makes much sense to me. The ATF gave exemption to pistol gripped shotguns long ago, as legal "firearms". Even short barreled ones are either AOW or SBS, depending on how they were originally and/or later configured. I don't see how DD even enters any of this discussion at all, really, since a sporting exception was given long ago to take all shotshell firing firearms out of DD category. Which was later extended to cover rifled barrels firing slugs also. I sense there is a twisted up "partial story" herein, if indeed there is one at all. - OS

Just a note: North Carolina - OS

Dunno. Everybody still has to register with Selective Service System at 18, perhaps just a US gummit PSA? Since nobody works any more, or obeys many laws, maybe there's a big gap with registration because so many have never gotten a Social Security number or something. - OS

He did it, -19! 3 holes left, 3 pars will give him all time lowest score of 269. To put that in context, Tiger did 270 back in '97 and course has been lengthened significantly since then. - OS edit: Well rats. Bogeyed the last hole, so missed the outright record.
-
Good Lord, Spieth now has the all time Masters record for birdies with 26. Within a stroke of setting another if he can get to -19. Lowest 36 and 54 hole scores. Also, if he doesn't blow up, will be only the fifth wire to wire winner ever, the last being Floyd way back in 1976. - OS

Yep, sounds like Trek wound up on a Google Images page. Majority of photos I've ever posted on a forums can be found there if you look far enough. And sure, folks will use them for their own sales sometimes too, which is the only truly unscrupulous aspect of all that. Geek tip: you can find places where your pic may have been linked or copied by dragging it into the box for an image search at: http://images.google.com - OS

edit: finally broke down and read story from suspicious' link: Original caller was female, and yeah, "A Walmart loss prevention employee, whom Cottonwood police knew, was also key in preventing more harm being done to family members or the original four officers on the scene, Fanning said. The employee fought to protect the officers throughout the brawl." - OS
-
"Whoa Nelly", heh heh, good one. - OS

So, among the weirdness, without reading up on it, what was the deal with the one big chubby guy that was not a cop fighting the group too, he was the Walmart employee that called in being assaulted in the first place ... or something? - OS
-
Well, that really sucks for any company, but especially hurtful for one of the smaller ones trying to compete. And Charter was just making news again with their 9mm/.40 revolvers. - OS

Consider: 75-100 million gun owners in the US, but only about 5 million belong to NRA Imagine the intimidation against voting for anti-gun legislation if even half of all the owners belonged. Of course NRA isn't perfect. Of course they have to spend a lot of money on stuff that doesn't directly benefit legislation. Of course they can't get into every fight and don't have the staff for perfect expertise to finesse the insiders in every state legislature. Then again, maybe it could do all that and more with 10 times the members or better, eh? - OS

Gunshot fired by state wildlife officer during hunter safety course

Same thing Lee Paige did with the infamous Glock foty demo, but he successfully put it into his foot. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHR1lH8N-eY - OS
