  1.   I believe it would be worth a c-note to get a vid of you slipping that thing into to John Sevier range here in Knox and letting it rip.   - OS
  2.   That first shotgun blast with 00 buck put 9 rounds of .30 downrange already.   - OS
  3.   Everybody said they'd just keep getting more expensive. And that will continue, until surplus ammo runs out, then value will crash unless Russia can keep up with new 54R production with the same ballpark pricing.   I see the ammo as already quite a bit more expensive than couple years ago, seems to have jumped up higher % than anything except .22LR?   - OS
  4. I don't even drink anymore, but gag me with a backhoe at just the thought of it.   - OS
  5.   "...public park, playground, civic center or other building facility, area or property owned, used or operated by any municipal, county or state government, or instrumentality thereof, for recreational purposes."   Yeah, I predict this will be an ongoing hassle. I mean, shouldn't all sports stadiums owned, used, or operated by a city or county also be included?   Will probably be a lot of "duh, we didn't think of that". Because I'll bet hardly any of them actually read the existing statute.   - OS
  6.   Don't know of anything that's changed. Haven't looked it up in a while, but that's all set by statute.   Here's the Wiki and Ballotpedia description (identical, probably Wiki copied it),  AFAIK I think it's fairly accurate. I believe the "office allowance" goes year round. So the only thing they're really out is the per diem. Meaning they're having to add days for their base pay and pay for meals and a place to stay. I'd probably just sleep in the office, myself. ;)   "To keep the legislature a part-time body, it is limited to ninety "legislative days" per two-year term, plus up to fifteen days for organizational purposes at the start of each term. A legislative day is considered any day that the House or Senate formally meets in the chambers of each house. If it remains in session longer than ninety legislative days, lawmakers cease to draw their expense money, currently set at $141 per legislative day. Legislators also receive an "office allowance" of $1,000 per month, ostensibly for the maintenance of an office area devoted to their legislative work in their homes or elsewhere within their district. Traditionally, it has been easier, politically-speaking, to raise the per diem and office allowance than the salary. The speaker of each house is entitled to a salary triple that of other members. Under a law enacted in 2004, in the future legislators will receive a raise equally to that given to state employees the previous year, if any. The governor may also call "extraordinary sessions," limited to the topic or topics outlined in the call, limited to another twenty days. Two-thirds of each house may also initiate such a call by petitioning for it."   I guess there must be a lot of "non legislative days" involved, or they'd eat up the allotment in just one year, let alone two.   - OS
  7.   Hell, wrong site!!      Oh "getting on up there" Shoot
  8. oopsy, nm
  9.   Well, you can buy directly from Czech Point, though nothing seems to be in stock right now cept some of the revolvers.   - OS
  10.   I see on map that there's another place right about next to it, Czech Point, wasn't familiar with them either:   https://www.czechpoint-usa.com//   - OS
  11. Well, if guy means DDI, he got town wrong, dunno. I'll axe him again when I see him.   - OS
  12.   Presently is a sliding scale of 3 to 7 years,  for time span, all aimed at hitting five year cycle by one's second renewal and tweaked to day of your birth. Or I guess by ones' first renewal in case of new issuances. Or something like that. All so it would coincide with five year span of DL.   However, the yearly price of both new HCP or renewal is the same.   https://www.tn.gov/safety/handgun/handgunfees.shtml   Of course, since they just changed DL to eight year cycle, it's a total SNAFUBAR now. And all wasted effort (money) on what they've been doing with the HCP.   - OS
  13.     It bears mentioning from time to time I think, that BHO got 43% of the vote here in '08. And still almost 40% in '12 after four years of showing his ass.   I wonder what Hildebeeste will get?   I see no reason to believe that Dem % will do anything but increase. Though this gets diluted well on state level presently,  it's still a one sided trend that will eventually trash that too.   - OS
  14.   Yeah, 132 folks are right on verge or already working for free right now.   - OS
  15.   HCP pricing for both issuance and renewal is set by statute, it doesn't matter what time frame they jockey the renewals around to, is just pro-rated for that duration, still same price per year.   I assume TDL is same?   - OS
  16. One of my maintenance guys was just telling me his relative went to work for a place "making AK-47's" in Clinton, but couldn't think of the name.   Who might that be?   - OS
  17.   No, I expect it overall, just the overt short time span of this particular idiocy surprised even moi.   - OS
  18. So, last year, legislature enacted the staggered times on the HCP issuance and renewals, to get them to start falling in line with the five year birthday renewal of one's TN DL. And probably there was a fiscal note on this for admin and software and whatnot. I'm sure it was also touted to save money in the long run.   Okay.   So now, they just passed the new eight year new cycle on TDL renewals. Same deal, claiming 6 million in savings over time.   Only in Tennessee.   At least we can legally eat our roadkill, always been proud of our lawmakers' wisdom and all with that.   - OS
  19.   My point was, and again, is, that New Hampshire does not have total Constitutional Carry like the other states you mentioned. I corrected your previous comment to Vermont, assuming that was the one you really meant. But apparently not, since you've said it again.   A permit is required to conceal carry in New Hampshire. And indeed, due to various restrictions, NH is not even classed as a "gold star" open carry state by OpenCarry.org either.   - OS
  20.   Yeah, I'm sure most fire them, but as you mention, keeping cases sequestered, labeling, filing along with some sort of retrieval system, all that.   Of course the whole thing is absurd though. As if a casing at a crime scene could somehow be used to identify not only the brand but the exact gun, among all those sold by every maker of that caliber.   "Here, take this casing around to SW, Ruger, SIG, Springfield, etc ad infinitum, and compare it will all the ones they have in storage."   "Sure, boss, I'll get right on that."   - OS
  21.   May be a bit more than we think. Not only the firing and labeling of the rounds, but the filing/storage of them also.   - OS
  22.   More importantly, I don't want to get shot by someone I just shot with bird shot.   - OS
  23.   Yeah, but it and the previous NYS law forced every hand gun manufacturer to do the spent casing thing for all of the guns, since they couldn't know where each would wind up being sold.   So may not have actually been significant all in all with cost increase to consumers, but the manufacturers did have to account for the extra labor time in firing and collecting a shell, labeling the little envelope, keeping a record of it, whatever.   Just an example of how all these various state laws affect gun manufacturers if indeed they want to sell products in those states. Hell, most aren't selling any handguns at all in Kali now -- you can say "good enough for Kali", but the people being slammed aren't the lawmakers but rather the citizens and the gun companies, that's a huge market there.   - OS
  24.   Umm, I believe a simple call to HCP office at TNDOS would be the more logical first inquiry.   - OS
  25.   Any rifle that can't run standard commercial .223 like Fiocchi and Wolf isn't right IMHO -- or,  indeed if it's spec-ed not to be able to on purpose, would certainly not be in my arsenal.   - OS
