Yep, except the firmware allows certain Comcast URLS to connect. I'd say that's the prob...modem has to be "provisioned", meaning MAC address added to their system for your particular location as btq says. Should have been a URL on sheet with modem for you to go to. And actually, every time I've changed a Comcast modem, simply opening the browser and attempting to surf anywhere brings up the default activation site. And yes, when I changed to the voice plan, I remember phone wouldn't work until I activated the modem via the website. So I'd say it's "user error" I'm afraid. :) Ah, here it is (though just trying to surf to anywhere will likely bring it up): http://comcast.com/activate Should automagically do its thing with just a few mouse clicks with your new equipment hooked up and powered on. - OS

Any kydex sheath makers in Morristown area?
Oh Shoot replied to Kylev87's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Aholster is in Jonesborough. Several here have raved about their pocket models in particular. http://www.lefthandholster.com/Home_Page.html This place says they're in Knoxville, don't know anything about them though: http://www.furyholsters.com/ Don't think either mention knives, but you could ask. I've had Al Welke make a custom "taco" type Kydex sheath for one of my knives, lots of folks use him on BladeForum. Sent him the knife. Also bought one from him off eBay for a common production model, before he ever had a website. In Arizona. http://www.azwelke.com/ - OS -
Misconception there. The poly rails are guides for reassembly only. The Kahr slide depends on the long thin metal rails in front of frame and the two small inserts in the rear. Here's a pretty good explanation; http://glocktalk.com/forums/showpost.php?p=9043520&postcount=1 - OS

Black out the number and dots on rear sight with sharpie or something, makes a surprising diff on that less than optimal design. - OS

You did go through activation process either online or over the phone for the new modem/router, right? - OS

You have to be a damn good shot to kill gophers. But even I can hit a whistle pig. - OS

If you do go that route, I'll mention they are quite tasty. - OS

I see some mentioning probs with feed/ejection, a minority though. Seems likely to be okay. Here's the YouTube link that's imbedded in page. Unlike the original URL you can hop around in it like any other vid. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-YRUFeX9Sp8&feature=youtu.be - OS

Norris will cost you each $20 for one visit. plus you'll have to go by PD, get key, put deposit, return key, unless you want to join, which is only $40 for a year, but runs out end of June (not prorated). John Sevier is $5.50 each and much closer. Their bench range is 100 yards max exactly. http://www.state.tn.us/twra/region4/johnsevier.html - OS

There are beau coup bills submitted every session that go nowhere. It's just that those that involve firearm restrictions get the press, and ironically mostly from the firearm community itself. - OS

Note: a couple of very important words left out of that for use legal of deadly force in TN, and most other states: those words are a reasonable fear of imminent death or serious injury. And remember, it's not ultimately your call as to whether the threat was imminent and/or whether your fear of it was reasonable. Note: that is generally true, but the situation can quickly evolve to where that no longer applies. You have the default assumption of having met the "reasonable fear of imminent death/serious injury" as per above, but the actual scenario could prove to be different. It it not an an absolute blanket permission to execute anyone. - OS

So, you interact with Buck regarding that yet? - OS

Yeah, I never bought a Glock just because of the dumb finger grooves -- only elf fingers can actually fit between them. Finally did acquire a couple, just well, because. If I was gonna use one for a main weapon, would definitely remove them too, but will just leave them alone for now, might sell 'em off or something, we'll see. Nice job there. - OS

Certainly not in Knoxville, nor in most TN cities, unless there is TWRA land inside city limits. Clarksville must have pretty loose code about it huh? - OS

Good lord, you must have mostly Kel-Tec and Taurus! - OS

That's a key issue in the actual existence of "Islamic extremism" whether from governments, ISIS, whoever. If the average mid eastern Muslim had a pot to piss in and a window to throw it out of, or even the hope of getting them, organized Jihad-ism would fade away. But as it is, the next life, with or even without virgins, is equally if not more attractive than this one. - OS

No, but the Old Testament does, and many Christians claim it is to be taken as literally as the New Testament. There are dozens of infractions for which the prescription is death in the the Old Testament, and worshiping a different god than Yahweh is one of them. Christianity has only become the non-bellicose version we see now over the last 500 years, and that's about how much younger Islam is now, so maybe it'll eventually come around too. ;) - OS

Lawmaker Says Memphis In May Breaking The Law
Oh Shoot replied to The Legion's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Well, Heller only for federal enclaves, McDonald for the rest of us, but they're essential identical in outcome. We don't have a precise definition of "keep" either, only that you may keep "some" firearm or other, under "some" rules imposed by the state, city, or county. But at least that basic tenet to have some sort of loaded shootin iron is confirmed. But SCOTUS only used "bear" in the sense of picking up and using a firearm in your home, they did not clearly incorporate it as a right to carry a heater in the general public. - OS -
