  1.   They don't have much room below follower when fully loaded, so take a decent smack on closed bolt.   Should slip right in pert easy with bolt locked back, which is the way you'd reload normally if shooting to empty anyway.   Sounds like you don't really have a prob - sounded initially like you were talking about difficulty just inserting mags into a finished lower by itself.   - OS
  2.   Nifty, but no chance I'd spring for that -- this is a 10" blaster AK, after all. ;)  I felt a bit pretentious even throwing 60 clams into it for a  flash hider, but the blast was just so outrageous I finally did.    Not adverse to spending money on stuff, of course, just silk purse out of sow's ear and all that. Of course, mine didn't exactly need a folding brace assembly on it either. :)     - OS
  3.   If you have to slam it in with no upper in place, doesn't sound right, should just "snick" in there with no effort at all to speak of. Threaded end of mag release should be a just bit less than flush with the surface of release button, but not sure it makes that much diff.   Of course with an upper on there, a fully loaded mag against a closed bolt will often need a firm whack though, and some mags are tougher than others because of less room below follower for the rounds to squeeze downward that little bit necessary. But an empty mag against closed bolt, or a full one with bolt locked back should go in pretty effortlessly also.   - OS
  4.   Nah, generally just pull firing pin and bolt out of carrier and clean everything, leave extractor and ejector attached.   Extractor easy to take off if you want to though,  ejector not so much. Neither generally need an special attention unless they actually break.   - OS
  5.   For purposes of the 39-17-1311, it is certainly "property owned, used or operated by any municipal, county or state government, or instrumentality thereof, for recreational purposes." (so that may well cover the DOE property also).   As far as exact definition in the statute:   "For the purposes of this section, a "greenway" means an open-space area following a natural or man-made linear feature designed to be used for recreation, transportation, conservation, and to link services and facilities. A greenway is a paved, gravel-covered, woodchip covered, or wood-covered path that connects one greenway entrance with another greenway entrance. In the event a greenway traverses a park that is owned or operated by a county, municipality or instrumentality thereof, the greenway shall be considered a portion of that park unless designated otherwise by the local legislative body. Except as provided in this part, the definition of a greenway in this section shall not be applicable to any other provision of law."   Thing is, under the statute, parks are not the only recreational properties covered, so I see no way greeenways are not under this umbrella, whether they go through an actual park boundary or not.   - OS
  6. I just bought a M92 PAP the other day and a 1,000 rounds of 7.62x39. http://grabagun.com/century-arms-arms-pap-m92-pstl-762x39-30rd.html Hope it's as nice as some of you guys AK's quality wise. If the novelty of the foot long flash even in daytime wears off, here's the cure. No flash. At all! https://www.manticorearms.com/ak-47-and-ak-74-rifle-products/eclipse-flash-hider-for-yugo-krinkov.html - OS
  7.   Not pin, ejector (for the bolt).   Usually see that (and the rings) in bolt repair kit rather than general one. And no extractor in that kit either.   - OS
  8. Yeah, it ain't necessarily over once you've finished your lower. The only parts i ever totally lost happened when removing buffer tube after the fact later on, duh. - OS
  9.   Yeah.   I don't follow soccer, just happened to see a blurb about it, watched second half.   If I watch the final Sunday, that means I see maybe 4 hours of soccer every 4 years -- which is actually more than I see of baseball, football, and basketball all combined.   - OS
  10. Our wimmen beat de Germany, 2 - zip (I mean, nil), in Montreal.   We were apparently somewhat the underdog too.   Final from Vancouver on Sunday.       - OS
  11.   Yep, the only part that sucks about what can otherwise be a completely legal personal transaction -- and of course no way for the buyer to know, and even the seller likely wouldn't either if it has already changed hands at least once.   - OS
  12.   That's actually entirely possible.   I bought a Zastava AK pistol online, had it sent to my fav FFL, and there was some confusion as 5 or 6 of them were delivered to him at same time -- turned out he had ordered the others for resale from same place at same retail price, as they were cheaper than he could get them through his distributors at the time.   - OS
  13.   Usually for a single gun, unless a really expensive one, folks aren't gonna claim it on insurance what with the usual $500 deductible or more on homeowners/rental/valuable items policies.   That said, I've seen people say that they contacted insurance company regarding returned stolen items, and even though the insurance had paid them, the company said go ahead and keep 'em anyway, so I guess as always YMMV.   - OS
  14.   I found this two parter just fine.   I'll add: anything with a spring, assemble inside a large clear plastic bag so you can see it, but also catch flying parts.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iA_Vkb2UB1w   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jq4KfUaVp8M   - OS
  15.   My point is that your second point is the ONLY reason why they are still there.   - OS
  16.   That has nothing to do with it. There are not signs anywhere in TN  to remind you that it's a crime to carry without a permit, or to be carrying while drunk,  or carrying a loaded long gun, whatever.   The signs in question are only there for one reason -- they were mandated by law for cities or counties which chose to opt out of the previous version of 39-17-1311.   - OS
  17. There is no BAC established for possession of firearm while under the influence.   If you're involved in a shooting, of course every aspect of that would be investigated. If you are not charged with anything, there's always still the distinct possibility of a civil suit, whether you had any alcohol in your system or not.   It's not possible to completely predict a certain outcome of either scenario.   - OS
  18.   TN Democrats: Change name of Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park   http://www.jacksonsun.com/story/news/politics/2015/06/23/dems-change-name-state-park/29185555/   - OS
  19.   Haslam has already said he wants them gone, so they probably are. Along with bust of Nathan Bedford Forrest from state house.   - OS
  20.   Pretty sure I have an old tattered one somewhere, used as a sleeper curtain in semi in my youth, but couldn't find it ...   Anyway, this spurred me to grab a couple off eBay just before they starting nuking them. They were still cheap, one from USA vendor and one from Chinese. The second listing got zapped soon after I bought one, but transaction already done so still a go.   - OS
  21.   Yep, grab it in a hurry if you want it.   This is similar to the hicap magazine frenzy there after Sandy Hook ... they can only play whack-a-mole since there are so many. The actual listing words should have caught it in filter, but for some reason that mostly failed during the mag flood too for some reason.   - OS
  22.   The official name is "Department of Safety & Homeland Security"   - OS
  23. Every time I see CCP mentioned anywhere, I flash on:
  24.   Oh yeah, I remember seeing that, so guess I have clicked on it in the past.
  25. Did it used to work? (don't guess I've ever clicked on it)
