  1. Sigh. Please read what I said. That is NOT Walden's Puddle's site, but the petition at change.org. My comment is simply that Walden Puddle official site itself does not link to the change.org petition, which I found strange. http://waldenspuddle.org/ I even gave the link to WP's site "how you can help" page where you would think it would be mentioned: http://waldenspuddle.org/how-you-can-help/ - OS
  2.   I can get to all links mentioned.   I'm simply not seeing a link to the petition anywhere off Walden Puddle's official site which is why I said they don't seem to give it much credence. (though Caster says there is one)   Not a big deal, just one of those things that make ya go hmmm?   - OS
  3.   Damn if I can find it,  on page I listed or home page.   - OS
  4.   I see no link to this petition off Walden's Puddle's own site, so assume they don't give it much credence. This is how the Center suggests folks help:   http://waldenspuddle.org/urgent-action-needed/   Note the MPC meeting they reference has already been held, can't find any news about the result.   - OS
  5. Doesn't Nashville have a ban on discharging firearms period?   - OS
  6.   Almost too subtle, dang near bit. :)   - OS
  7. Wow, no reaction at all here...   That midfield goal was something else -- check out the Spanish commentator's call from the Telemundo coverage (second vid down):   http://www.si.com/planet-futbol/2015/07/05/carli-lloyd-goal-telemundo-call-andres-cantor-video   - OS
  8.   Just keep a loaded long gun in car when you go out drinking. Law now written that it's okay to be dead drunk with a rifle or shotgun as long as it doesn't happen in a public establishment!   - OS
  9.   Dunno. Gray. Suggests a good intention (that the road to hell is paved with :))   What would seem to always suffice against "intent to go armed" is "an unloaded rifle, shotgun or handgun not concealed on or about the person and the ammunition for the weapon was not in the immediate vicinity of the person or weapon"   On the third hand, the carry while intoxicated doesn't mention "intent to go armed" (loaded firearm), just a "handgun".   It's also interesting that it no longer seems to be unlawful to possess a long gun (loaded or not) while drinking or drunk, unless it's in the confines of a public establishment!   - OS
  10. Same with a "c" in parenthesis. With no spaces it becomes copyright symbol (c) You can turn off emoticons in post too, but they seem to come back when someone quotes it. And that doesn't affect the (c) though. - OS

    "Festus"

Hey, Matt Dillon's first sidekick sang a little too. (not nearly as well though):   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-HiuPtMZvMo   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yalAKdO0rMs   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUtZu6uwdxc     - OS
  12. There was a bill to move it up a year, but never heard anymore about it after the initial hoopla, so guess it failed? (can't find anything but stories regarding it being proposed)   Anyway, each city that has liquor sales also has to approve it by referendum, yes? Have all of them already done that?   - OS
  13. Just a note: that is apparently the 392 model, which is rated at max 685 fps. The 397 model in .177 claims the 800 fps. The .22 may have the edge in applied energy on target though, but dunno -- equation with two different masses and velocities is well beyond me. :) - OS
  14.   Reading about it, it is covered with a rubber-ish coating which as LP mentions you also lube, and it turns with the rifling as inserted and removed, rather than rubbing against it.   http://www.svartkrutt.net/board/index.php?id=319   - SO   .
  15.   No. i guess closest state law would be disorderly conduct, which is fairly vague. Or local "disturbing the peace" ordinances.   Of course, here a long gun and ammo on the person in general public is unlawful carry/possession period. Although decked out in civies with tactical vest and an  AR or AK pistol would likely have much the same effect here in a Macy's.   - OS
  16. Especially this week with all the extra "terrorist warning" coverage and the constant emphasis from DHS and the state LEAs on: - OS
  17.   Who could tell if he had ammo, which I don't think matters one way or the other for open long gun carry in NC?   It was the appearance. Guy in civies with tactical vest and whatnot and an EBR in a Macy -- people freaked -- in somewhat reasonable "terror", would seem to me.   - OS
  18. Ft. Bragg soldier charged at local mall:   http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2015/07/03/soldier-carrying-ar-15-creates-chaos-at-n-c-mall-everyone-in-the-mall-was-panicking/   http://fox8.com/2015/07/03/soldier-arrested-in-fayetteville-north-carolina-mall-with-assault-rifle-ammo/   - OS
  19. nm, misread   Hope you enjoy the Plinkster. I have the 802, second one has been fine except for heavy trigger (bolt fell apart on the first one, long story).   - OS
  20.   AFAIK, firearm possession same as otherwise, and power granted to Gov to limit is specifically denied.   - OS
  21.   Meh, it's certainly not a "precision" trigger but I don't gripe about it much, it's not a "precision" firearm. It does stage, once you take up tension, at least ya know where it's ready to fire, once you're used to that it suffices pretty well IMO.   Far as polymer mags, the Tapcos work fine and they make the only 20 round ones (I like 20s best in both AK and AR) except for surplus Hungarian tanker mags (pricey) or new Korean ones (iffy).   But mostly I have surplus commbloc metal 30 rounders, mostly mixture of Romanian and Yugo (Yugo has hold open bolt on last round). Widely available online, 8-15 clams each depending on sales or quantity.   sgammo.com periodically a very good place to score them, especially in 10 packs. For a while there SportsmansGuide had the Yugo ones for under 10 clams each, haven't looked in a while. Etc.   The new manufacture 75 round Romanian drum is nifty too, $65 at Sgammo.   - OS
  22.   What I'm mentioning is the delay in her shooting sequence -- she starts firing 9 shots at :57, guy is whacked out on the ground, brief pause, and then she fires 3 more.   - OS
  23.   A significant part of good manners is tactful discreetness. :)   - OS
  24.   Wonder about those last three shots from the lady cop,  after a short pause,  when the guy was already on the ground though.   - OS
  25.   This is TN forum, eh?   That said, no idea, but signs do not have the force of law in KY, meaning it is not a violation in and of itself to carry past a no guns sign, so you wouldn't be "illegal" for doing it. Would come down to possible trespassing situation if discovered and asked to leave.   Obviously, concealed carry would be your friend in a posted situation there.   http://handgunlaw.us/states/kentucky.pdf   - OS
