Which one is going to be buried in 'Nooga? - OS
-
Yeah, seems only the perp would perhaps be having a funeral in 'Nooga? Is there some memorial service or something in 'Nooga WBC is talking about picketing? - OS

Must admit I didn't expect that question, and don't understand the rest of it, but I'm certain the answer is no. :) Excellent logical deduction! ;) Couldn't be sure of that. But whopper eggs a month or two after I captured it was a dead giveaway -- wasn't long before I had like 8 or 10 snakes instead of one! Was able to give away the babies to a more involved herp nut in the area though. I turned Mrs. Piney back into wild in same month a year later near where I had caught her in the first place. She was a big ass snake, like over 6 feet, and thick. Couple mice or so per week, and I'm sure she could have eaten much more. She'd eat eggs too, but like a dog would let 'em sit until she figgered she wasn't getting something she liked better, which was a live mouse. :) Also, if it was against the law way back then to have wildlife, lots of folks in McMinn County paid no attention to it. Folks had coons, possums, foxes, owls, all kinds of stuff. 'Course, those were the days of rifles and shotguns in rack behind the seat in high school parking lots too. - OS

Had one for about a year myself as a kid. She would hiss and bite when I first got her, but settled down quickly. Ask me how I know it was a "she". ;) - OS

A shotgun, two rifles, and a handgun. (one of the rifles was at his home, the other three were with him). We seem to know that the rifle used was an AK and the handgun was 9mm. "Reinhold said earlier Friday that "some of the weapons were purchased legally and some of them may not have been."" - OS

Rat, chicken, king all very similar. All same down through Subfamily and Tribe. "Black snake" is more of a colloquial term, most in N. America more properly referred to as one kind of racer or other, or the black rat snake. - OS

Ouch. A for effort though. ;)

AK shooters...I need some help
Oh Shoot replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Condor makes doubles and triples in molle for AK mags, with or without dual pistol pouches to boot. http://www.condoroutdoor.com/search.aspx?find=ak+mag+pouch Btw, I like Condor stuff, although I don't have these particular ones, have various other Condor pouches that have held up very well. - OS -
So let 'em just have an M4 handy, so much the better. - OS

??? He was a TN resident. Any other TN resident who sold him a gun would have done so within the law. Matter of fact, he had no disqualifying history that would have negated a purchase from an FFL either. Maybe he had an HCP, too. - OS

Some Thoughts on Buying/Selling Used Firearms
Oh Shoot replied to Sidewinder's topic in General Chat
There is no specific number. It's against federal law to be "in the business" of doing it without a license, which means: "...as applied to a dealer in firearms ... a person who devotes time, attention, and labor to dealing in firearms as a regular course of trade or business with the principal objective of livelihood and profit through the repetitive purchase and resale of firearms, but such term shall not include a person who makes occasional sales, exchanges, or purchases of firearms for the enhancement of a personal collection or for a hobby, or who sells all or part of his personal collection of firearms" "The term “with the principal objective of livelihood and profit” means that the intent underlying the sale or disposition of firearms is predominantly one of obtaining livelihood and pecuniary gain, as opposed to other intents, such as improving or liquidating a personal firearms collection" (All from 18 USC § 921 - Definitions) Guess who decides? - OS -
If there are no hiccups in background check (like any arrest/charge that doesn't have proper paperwork resolution) seems to be 15-30 days currently. - OS

Echo Monkeylizard -- The only relevancy a permit has to vehicle carry now is that it allows such in otherwise prohibited parking lots. - OS

You're really in college? (They are the Hill Toppers) - OS

A hill toper would be a drunk on an elevated patch of ground. - OS

Transgendered is hot right now, you might score the Arthur Ashe Courage Award. - OS

Just remember that with using force, it's not ultimately your call as to whether it was "reasonable". You have seconds to consider it, while attending LEOs, police chief, DAs, judges, and juries have all the time in the world. - OS

Yes, you have a "satellite office there", but it's not a field office, may even be just one agent and a secretary or three, dunno. And yeah, I guess somebody might have showed up there from there first, or not, might have been told to wait for Reinhold the cheese et al to get down from Knoxville. Hamilton County is in the Knoxville jurisdiction: https://www.fbi.gov/knoxville/contact-us/territory-jurisdiction Now of course there's specialty Gmen and other agencies' spooks from all over the country there. - OS

39-11-612. Defense of third person. A person is justified in threatening or using force against another to protect a third person, if: (1) Under the circumstances as the person reasonably believes them to be, the person would be justified under § 39-11-611 in threatening or using force to protect against the use or attempted use of unlawful force reasonably believed to be threatening the third person sought to be protected; and (2) The person reasonably believes that the intervention is immediately necessary to protect the third person.

I keep my basic one behind seat in car also. However, I find 30 rounds of soft point 5.56 traveling at 2600 fps that I can quickly put into torso at point blank to 100 yards to be quite practical indeed if such situation should arise. I'm sure one of them Marines down your way today shore would have loved to have had one in hand. - OS

10.5" 300 Blackout SBR - Completed with new pics
Oh Shoot replied to maroonandwhite's topic in Show and Tell
Hold that carbine tube firmly alongside cheek as third point of contact, and you'll be almost as steady as with a stock. Only thing is, with that scope, your eye relief won't be same as with a stock that way. If you had iron sights on it, that would be the way to test it out better without moving scope forward, then later back, but all in all guess that's not a big deal either. - OS -
Oh, I'd say that nationwide, the majority of white folks would have voted in favor of nixing them also. - OS

'Fraid I'm missing the joke? btw, here's first pic I've seen:

There's nothing vague about it. AR and AK pistols are well known throughout both federal and state jurisdictions. Except for the "assault weapon" ban states, no worries. For all their shenanigans, ATF has never yet questioned the "one hand/two hand" nature of them, though of course that's possible in the future. Yes, there was one scuzzball got jammed up in middle TN for a KelTec PLR16 they claimed was SBR a few years ago, but they had multiple charges pending on him, and that one wouldn't have stuck even if they hadn't dropped it. And it wasn't even an AR. Obviously, any LEA can do what they like at any time to anyone, at least up to a point. The "fired with one hand" has traditionally been held to mean simply "no stock" or "no vertical forward grip" though this has now blurred a bit with the opinion regarding braces used against the shoulder. And there's an exception for the VFG on pistols also. But since you seem worried about it, best advice is that you don't get one, I reckon. :) Again, what's TBH? - OS

Yeah, see that now. That L shaped part of fence around car was dragged there as he busted through gate. I thought it was some barrier they had put up around it or something while investigating. - OS
