Yeah, got all the press, but only because CO is such a big gun state to begin with, and remains so. And btw, that mag ban hasn't really affected things much, small teeth -- 'bout all it does it ban them from being sold/transferred in-state. Possession per se is not illegal, and no burden of proof to show when or where you got them. The ban on private sales was actually the bigger deal I think. But CO still remains a big gun state. Certainly not one less gun or magazine in whole state than there already was. - OS

Fear The Walking Dead (Los Angeles spinoff)

:) In reality, they have 6 episodes for first "season", and 15 ordered for the second. - OS -
What is significance of "JM" Stamped on Marlin 30-30 Barrels?
Oh Shoot replied to Sidewinder's topic in Long Guns
Seems as far as a 336, need ALL of these to be sure: - Serial number DOES NOT begin with 92, 91, 90, or MR. - Serial number stamped on tang – The Marlin 336 beginning in 1948 and continuing through 2007 have a serial number stamped on the tang where the receiver attaches to the stock. The older models have the serial number stamped on the tang under the lever. - Made in New Haven, CT. stamped on left side of barrel. - Proof mark “JM” stamped in barrel where it meets receiver. Things get wackier with other models though, especially the 60. - OS -
It did widely disrupt telegraph service over North America and Europe though. It seems an assumed fact that the same level event would really play some havoc today. Apparently one of similar strength dodged us in 2012. - OS edit: Almost a tie, Ted. :)

Holy crap, total hatchet job, not a "report" in any way. Started with premise of "guns are bad, gotta get rid of guns" and simply portrayed NRA as the Evil Adversary to that. Not even token lip service to why 2A is even there. Really, most biased piece I've seen in a long time on anything, even for PBS, which is really saying something. Don't blame LaPierre for not granting interview for it one bit, as I'm sure he had a finger on the pulse of what the thing would be and how anything he said would have been portrayed. A Rachel Maddow hit piece would have been more objective. - OS

Again, not necessarily the acid test between Marlin and Remlin. There are plenty of rifles made after Remmy took over with JM stamps. And even some from the Ilion/Mayfield plants after they moved. - OS -
Never would have guessed .. thanx for the info. ;) - OS

Should be on all PBS stations nationwide. Knoxville Comcast: 2, 202 and 1002 HD - OS

She can be both. That's what I mean by separating the art from the artist. See my further list above. I can enjoy their movies, but wouldn't necessarily deign to have a beer with any particular one of them. - OS

Speaking of all calibers and models, there are also JM stamped barrels on various rifles well after the Remington buy out, even apparently some from plants after the move -- and there are lots of REP/REM/RE barrels on firearms that were still produced from the North Haven plant before the move. I have one of those, a model 60, a true "Remlin", with North Haven CT on the barrel, but stamped "RE" It seems some were stamped when manufactured but some were only stamped upon completion of the rifle, really kind of mess. And nobody I don't think has figured out the relevance of the three different Remington stampings, if indeed there is one. So really, the only way to know for sure you have a complete "Marlin" is to get one before the Remington purchase in 12/2007. But fit and finish quality, at least of the lever guns, was already suffering somewhat before that. - OS -
Yeah, lead story on local WATE news. - OS

Nah, I have the mighty Comcast VOIP corded marvel too. Which I usually just use once in a while to call my cell phone when I've misplaced it. A technique which doesn't work at the moment, since the cell network doesn't. :) edit: how weird, just got through to my ATT voice mail by calling my cell, but the cell never rang. Also, can get to voice mail now with the cell, but nothing else. I guess it's a Partial Jade Helm Apocalypse right now, since de gummit can't do anything exactly right. ;) - OS

Well, also be sure not to watch any action movies with or made by: Jeremy Renner Richard Donner (Lethal Weapon Series, 16 Blocks, etc) Matt Damon George Clooney Kevin Costner Uma Thurman Mark Walhberg Kevin Bacon Sean Connery Arnold Schwarzenegger Sylvester Stallone Liam Neeson etc - OS

Just noticed my cell doesn't work. Sure enough: http://wreg.com/2015/08/04/att-down-widespread-service-outage-across-tenn-alabama-kentucky-and-other-states/ It's the Apocalypse! - OS

Perhaps Louis Eugene Wolcott should be charged with something or other under the Patriot Act? Seems that an influential public figure fomenting mass murder on our nation's LEOs ought to fit in there somewhere? - OS edit: I forgot, we have BHO's Muslim-weighted and racist Department of "Justice". Hell, a Black Muslim can do anything he wants.

Yeah then that wording onsite definitely needs to be changed, which says that shipping FFL's have to have their ink signed copy on file with YOU, which was the weird thing I mentioned, as had never heard of such a policy from a receiving FFL. Thanks for reply. Wish I'd known about y'all for my last couple of transfers, but will certainly try you for the next one. best regards, - OS

Nonetheless, the point remains, if you avoid the flick because of Jane, look what you missed. And I'd disagree about her acting ability ... see my list above. And while certainly all Academy Awards are fraught with debate, her two wins were certainly as deserved as any of the other nominees those years. Her portrayal of Bree in Klute was really something, and certainly no slouch as Sally in Coming Home. - OS
-
Something wrong with you if you don't like Cat Ballou. ;) Just looking at quick filmography, I have very much enjoyed that and: They Shoot Horses, Don't They? Klute Julia Coming Home The China Syndrome The Electric Horseman Nine To Five The China Syndrome On Golden Pond The Morning After Agnes of God That's alone from her repertoire is quite a body of fine flicks, not to mention of course this pinnacle of cerebral artistry :) : - OS

Similar here, I guess. Have Lenovo laptop with Win 7 Pro 32 bit and Lenovo desktop with Win 7 Pro 64 bit. The laptop came with 8.1 upgrade media, which I never used. Got the invites for 10 on both boxes, didn't confirm, but downloaded the ISOs for 10 Pro 32 and 64. Which I'm probably just gonna sit on at least until there are no more 7 updates being fed, as everything runs just peachy. It's been 10 years since I tried to stay up to date on the latest geekage. ;) - OS

Agree, never heard of any broadband modem/router, including wireless ones, that doesn't have at least one ethernet port. Modems generally have one, and routers of any kind usually 3 or more. - OS

Just a note: TN doesn't have a "small claims court" per se. Things of this nature for damages under $25K are heard in General Sessions court. Or more properly, "The Court of General Sessions". Perhaps those are the magic words for this lady? That said, you might well still need one of them lawyer creatures for one reason or another. - OS

Yep, totally agree. I've said many times you have to separate the art from the artist or you'll miss a lot of great entertainment, whether film, music, art, whatever. And yep, that includes even Hanoi Jane -- 8 or 10 of the movies in which she appears have enriched my experience. Hell, besides all the serious ones, it's near criminal to have missed Kid Sheleen in Cat Ballou. - OS
