  1.   I'm Oh Shoot or OhShoot pretty much everywhere on gun related forums.   Any brand name M16 type carrier should be fine. PSA name brand one is fine usually call them "premium" I guess, though they sell some that aren't PSA branded. Bolt failure is fairly rare even with cheapos, but of course it does happen, but it also happens with expensive ones too.   Absolutely no reason to get a SIG or Shockwave brace unless you're gonna use it against the shoulder though (so make sure Mad Max Kingery ain't watching when you do ;))   - OS
  2.   Quite bad experiences on that and some other short buffer systems on arfcom pistol forum over time, nobody really seems to consider them for a build anymore. Even if it works okay, now you got an oddball AR with no parts interchange within that subsystem. Can't tweak cycling with different weight buffers either, etc. And spent more money to boot.  I just wouldn't do it.   Plus, standard or longer buffer tube on a pistol is actually a good feature, just using it for 3rd point of contact against cheek improves stability and accuracy immensely.   - OS   edit: I see you've posted in arfcom pistol section. Everyone so far has overlooked your mention of the short tube setup since you only did link I guess. If you want specific input on that, mention it again with pic.
  3.   Schematic says it is for an ARX 100. ?   - OS
  4.   I parted a rifle together using that Freedom Stainless mid-length upper about a month ago, just to stash. Though I had some of the other stuff laying around, could have been right at 5 bills tops even if I'd had to buy everything else.   Sighted it in with irons, used 30 rounds brass and 20 rounds steel just to make sure it ran everything, called it good, cleaned it, and tucked it away.   - OS
  5. Condolences to Ramjo, but yeah, my first thought when I saw thread title: - OS
  6.   Some people don't drive their own cars much, or use public transportation or mostly walk -- and have backpack on them all the time. Especially prevalent around college areas where lots of folks bus in or live on campus or nearby.   Includes even ole geezer me, btw. No theaters within my walking range, but at least half of my overall shopping  (Kroger, CVS, and Walmart, etc) is done on foot, and items go in my backpack.   - OS
  7. Consider a little necker. You can always get up under your shirt if you're desperate for a quick tug to get it. Even a very small one, like CRKT Minimalist or CS Super Edge (or Urban Pal if you want a push knife) can do some real mayhem. Certainly at the least plenty to get somebody to let go of ya! https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=87&v=_6HbsfOw2tQ I generally have a Minimalist Bowie on me as necker. I like it cause you can get a very secure grip on the little bugger. They make the whatchamallit adapter for it too so can tuck on belt inside or outside. There's also that whole line of Kabar TDI stuff for belt wear too. - OS
  8. Looks like part 74 in this Brownells schematic? (which is the drop safety)   http://www.brownells.com/schematics/Beretta-/ARX-100-sid1082.aspx#s147077sid1082   - OS
  9.   Kinda a slow start, but I realize they have to establish the characters and all in normal life.   I don't like the kid much.
  10.   No blade is getting through Cold Steel's "Secure X" polymer sheaths.   Though I don't see quite get how any way you'd carry a knife where you could retrieve it quickly would get involved with yer nads in the first place.   - OS
  11. Okay, thus encouraged, then I'll give you more. ;) If you want a push dagger, buy a real version, ie, made out of steel: Safe Keeper: There's also the little necker versions too, Urban Edge and Urban Pal: Last advice, everyplace is much cheaper to buy Cold Steel stuff than from Cold Steel itself. - OS
  12. Keep TGO Neat ;)   http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/89819-fear-the-walking-dead-los-angeles-spinoff/   - OS
  13.   My guess is nobody interested enough to start it will zap it halfway through.   Bout same as TWD really, folks may carp about this and that, but those inclined to watch at all keep watching. Like moi.   - OS
  14. Pretty blatant Cold Steel Grivory ripoff. CS models are much cheaper too, and with the excellent Kray-Ex grips. http://www.coldsteel.com/Product/92FPA/FGX_PUSH_BLADE_I.aspx http://www.coldsteel.com/Product/92FPB/FGX_PUSH_BLADE_II.aspx - OS
  15. Twilight Zone episode, "The Hunt", 1962. A charmer. Here's whole episode on Hulu. http://www.hulu.com/watch/440744 - OS
  16.   Ah so. Obviously my AK variant knowledge is quite limited, thanks.   - OS
  17.   ?? Murican part, in TN, what's the legality issue?   - OS
  18.   Yeah, I don't know how the heck the USPS scanners work, obviously only updated periodically at quite long durations. Dunno if delay is because of web interface or actual data transmission though.   FedEx and UPS beam the data continually as long as there's a reachable cell tower, you can see update usually within a minute of having received a package. (was still using cell tech when I was doing it, might be straight to satellite now or something, dunno).   - OS
  19. As they mention, needs a SBR stamp to go on a rifle. But you could put it on an AR pistol, and as a long as it's 26" legal OAL, doesn't matter if ATF also calls it a vertical forward grip or not. - OS
  20.   Since Kwik doesn't have a carry permit, it wouldn't even be a 1311 test.   - OS
  21.   Doesn't look like even CTD sells them anymore.   - OS
  22. Put a short rail on top side and use Troy VTAC light mount? Or perhaps a bit more bulky with an aluminum and steel cheapo from eBay, which works fine: - OS
  23. Manticore Eclipse. No flash. I mean, none. Amazing. http://www.manticorearms.com/Eclipse-Flash-Hider-for-Yugo-Krinkov-MA-6850.htm Can add the detent kit. - OS
  24.   Well, there are currently 11 Dem Reps from Texas, so easily could have been.   4 out of 9 from Arizona are Dem right now.   - OS
