  1.   Dunno about the Winnie but it's completely possible to put a Marlin into a "false half cock" position, and have it fire by pulling trigger or hitting hammer on something.   At any rate, I don't mind a cross bolt safety on any firearm. My very first rifle I got in 1958 had one (Remmie Fieldmaster .22), so it's always seemed very natural to me.   - OS
  2.   Yeah, I asked about the specific incident involved myself, whether his call or not figger he would know.
  3. Both the Sam's here are pretty classy, at least compared to the WalMarts that are next door. ;)   But I shop at all four places, ain't nobody gonna accuse me of being a snob. :) :)   - OS
  4.   Well, yours wasn't exactly a direct "question" or "disagreement" or "debate" I don't think, but if you want to delete the post, I'll delete the quote of it. :)   - OS
  5.   Speaking of which, I deleted my last two posts: forgot I may have been in violation of:   "If you have a question about or disagree with an action taken by a moderator, discuss it with them in private. Do not debate them in public."   - OS
  6.   Ah, well, that would have been helpful info from the gitgo, ya know. Or did you just get that info today after your earlier post?   - OS
  7.   Oh, I got em all, while muttering "sorry, they're not dangerous" and the like. Can't remember if anyone helped or not.   - OS
  8. It's simply the link to your public profile, shows like any link you hover over on any site,  and yeah, the number seems to be progressive in order of when registered. Newbies are in the 26,250+ range. Which means that about 2,600 have been un-personed. :)   - OS
  9.   Sure you can. :)
  10.   Should put it in the X Games or something, counterpart to the shooting part of Olympics.   - OS
  11.   Yeah, never heard of an AR failing from bolt or carrier being too wet.   - OS
  12.   (re: EssOne)   nm
  13.   You know the block has to offset a skosh from barrel shoulder (width of handguard retainer that's not there), right?   - OS

Something you can do immediately, join TFA. You can also see about being local lobbyist for them for your own Rep/Senator.   - OS
  15.   Absolutely. And it's still a crime in DC, unless one of the court decisions there have changed that.   Quick story about the "logic" of stuff: years ago I was walking out of a Wally with bunch of 9mm, bag broke right there in entrance way and a hundred box spilled all over the place. One woman pointed and literately screamed, "BULLETS!", people were backing back out of the door, couple of employees come out, general whatnot ensued,  I kid you not.   - OS
  16.   People act quite illogically during normal life, but you reckon they'd change to being completely logical when the Zed apocalypse starts, huh? :)   - OS
  17.   Far as I know, they never printed them themselves in the first place?       90 days is the span specified for whole process, not for time after they're actually issued.   Aren't some folks still getting their permits in 2-3 weeks from application date?   - OS
  18.   Who knows where the stupidity would stop? Rogero and Rausch didn't even realize that park carry became legal in 2014 with the preemption law change,  so maybe they'd try for this, which is still in city code:   "Sec. 19-104. - Carrying dangerous weapon. Any person who shall carry in any manner whatever, with the intent to go armed, any razor, dirk, bowie knife or other knife of like form, shape or size, sword cane, icepick, slingshot, blackjack, brass knuckles, Spanish stiletto, or fountain pen pistol or gun, or like instrument containing a firing pin and capable of shooting tear gas or pistol cartridges, or any pistol or revolver of any kind whatever, except an Army or Navy pistol which shall be carried openly in the hand, or any other dangerous weapon, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor."   - OS
  19.   Unless things have changed, you should have it within 10 days after issue. Call em back.   - OS
  20.   Cure for all that mess is a simple credit card. Not only is it free, and they'll even pay you to use it. I get couple hundred bucks kickback a year, and used to get a lot more when I used it for work. And perfectly safe, not responsible for one dime if hacked.   Credit cards are da bomb .. as long as you don't use them as a loan. :)   - OS
  21.   Already asked.  And the more pertinent one, did the gun run fine with the M16 carrier, then later begin to show problems?  If so, I bet on a gas leak. In which case the less than an ounce lighter AR15 carrier might be but a temp fix.   - OS
  22. Certainly, not locking back is generally due to undergassing, and sure, the lighter BC would tend to help that a bit, but did this just start happening all of a sudden with the M16 carrier already in there all along? If so, I'd suspect gas block or gas key has come loose.   Also, what weight buffer is in there now?   Just changing carrier to the slightly lighter AR15 type carrier, while it may allow normal function, would suggest it's still running at edge of reliability to me.   - OS
  23.   Well, "temporary border controls" with no details, we'll see. Says already "at the limit", which would suggest no more, though.   - OS
  24.   Pretty much same production companies involved as with TWD, with AMC studios at the top, so don't see why one would be more under any such influence than the other.   - OS
