  1.   Seems the perfect payback for that is to take money from them then, like I do to CitiBank. They've coughed up 200-700 clams a year to me for decades. :)   - OS
  2. Deal is still there for me just now, or is back, or whatever. Didn't buy any, but could have, let me put 10 in cart anyway. - OS
  3.   Here's a good current article as to why. They completely retooled for the 1894 series after trying to suffer along with the old machines from North Haven.   What a lot of folks don't realize is that some of the worst rifles Marlin ever let out were made those last few years in the North Haven plant even before Remmie bought them.   http://www.gunsandammo.com/reviews/marlin-1894-review/   - OS
  4.   Before that, Nashville ones did after Kwik incident.   - OS
  5.   Not just the follower. I thought it was just follower too, but changing Yugo ones to Romy mags didn't work as the indentations in the Romy still keep follower from rising high enough to engage bolt. So burred them off, and follower came to top but still didn't engage bolt.   Something about the clearances in very top part of the mag body are different .. or something.   - OS

Put extended buffer tube and Sig brace on it -- and don't invite Max Kingery along on the hunt. :)   - OS
  7.   Good advice for people who can't trust themselves to use financial tools responsibly.   - OS
  8.   You can't see your own post count however you're accessing here?   175, btw.   - OS
  9.   Ah, that would splain some stuff. :) :)   - OS
  10.   All the biggies will waive that for ya at least once a year if you call. I've done it myself a time or three over the many years.   - OS
  11.   You think they'd drive them GoogleMobiles down a long secluded gravel drive in the country in TN? Their knees would be knockin and be thinking Dueling Banjos. :)   - OS
  12.   Bit surprised Eddie would ask. Or maybe not. He did a "present, not voting" on the park/school revision in the first place.   We had an email exchange about that -- I'll give him credit for standing up and responding in depth though. His stance wasn't really strictly anti-2A per se, though, but conflicted opinion between gun rights and local authority, so just didn't vote.   I did vote for him though, as he replaced one of the biggest commies in the legislature, Gloria Johnson.   - OS
  13.   Hell, it's big, over 900 folks. Hundreds now with embedded chips!
  14.   Yeah, I amended my post to include that. :)   Though several sources just flatly call it hoax as its forte, as not witty enough to be satire.   - OS
  15. Bound to be half truths based on some admin suggestion at best; for one thing, all those states would have to amend state law to do it.   edit:   Quick search reveals this site is mostly half truth/satire/hoax type place period.   - OS
  16.   You can get good deals there, just seldom for the knife you had in mind before you went in. :)   - OS
  17.   Close. 02 Jan 2010   - OS
  18.   Yeah, I didn't know the .44 was particularly scarce.   The .357 has commanded more than MSRP for the most part for a good many years. Got mine about 5 years ago at a Wally, amazing luck and odd story, but they were scarce as hens teeth even back then, unless you wanted to pay well over MSRP off Gunbroker or wherever. But even Wally generally had .44 models in stock.   - OS
  19.   Lisa Knight would say they did "issue" it whether it's in your hand or not.   However, she told me face to face that she would not issue one until background check was complete regardless of how long it took.   - OS
  20.   Yeah, I put everything I can on my Universal. Back when I had a biz, used to get that $500 or more every year. Can't do it for rent or utilities though unfortunately.   - OS

Hell, you can hunt bear here with a .25acp derringer if you want. I think that would make things a lot more fair, actually. ;)   - OS

What's advantage of using a handgun up there to deer hunt? Special extra season or something?   - OS
  23.   Pretty damn important for most people, like those who finance cars and houses and such.   Having two or three cards that you keep paid off, especially if you don't carry a balance on them very often if at all, is a super way to build it up also. Matter of fact, my current 820 FICO is pretty much built on just that over the years, as never have even financed anything big like a car or house.   Btw, over 4 cards actually knocks it back just a wee bit.   - OS
  24.   Amen.   A decent credit card is da bomb. Convenient, safe, and they'll even pay you to use them. Just super, unless you use it as a loan, then it's a curse.   - OS
  25.   Pick one that will give you something back. My Universal Card pays me couple hundred a year. I generally choose store gift cards, use at Sam and Wally.   - OS
