  1. Actually, I was down there about 5 weeks ago, and seemed like the whole mall was in going out of business sale mode. I bought 2 pairs of Timberland shoes for $30 each at Dillards of all places (I've paid over double that in the past); would never even have considered going there, 'cept for Mom's urging. It was no tax weekend, too. On the weapons posting issue, we went in through Sears, and there was no gun mention of any kind. So, things have changed? Postings on all entrances now? - OS
  2. "Baby killing": Whether "life begins" at conception or later is a biological and philosophical argument. Philosophically, birth control of any kind is "denial of life". Morning after pill can also be "baby killing". I leave it up to the moral discretion of the mother; if she can live with it, so can I. "same sex marriage": Doesn't bother me. Doesn't threaten me. If I were gay, I'd really care. I'm not, so I don't. "gun grabbing": agree. Gun ownership, beyond the practical aspect of actually HAVING guns, is a cornerstone freedom; it that is taken, all freedoms can be taken. (of course, we just had some taken in the last 8 years anyway). "tax me to death": agree, but not really sure in long run that Dems actually are more tax happy than Repubs. If you are raking in the dough, you are traditionally better off under Repubs, otherwise, I think it's a wash. - OS
  3. Too late already. Dubya has had the rare knack of using Republicanism to not only ruin the economy, damage our credence and influence world wide, further eradicate the middle class that our country has depended on since WWII, make a mockery of national security by allowing and abetting the Mexican invasion, but to also strip away more of our individual rights that any Democratic administration in memory, maybe period. The SCOTUS 2nd amendment decision was the only good thing to happen during his reign that I can recall which Dubya had even remotely a hand in, since he nominated two of the current justices. - OS
  4. As you age, you'll find that few good deeds go unpunished. - OS
  5. Okay, as of Thursday, I can actually now carry legally. I have some other thoughts, lessons learned about this whole process, that I'll share in another post soon. Btw, I broke tradition and carried at Kroger first official stop. Ammo selection there sucks, though. Matter of fact, first couple days, I carried TWO guns, even though I won't be carrying a BUG in general. Just wanted to make up for lost time or something, I guess. - OS
  6. I have it, since she emailed me personally once, but I don't think it's cool to just post it publicy, since it's not listed anywhere on tn gov site, but if you email the commissioner directly, they forward it to her. This info IS on the TN DOS site: Commissioner Tennessee Department of Safety 1150 Foster Avenue Nashville, TN 37243 Phone: 615-251-5166 Email.Safety@state.tn.us - OS
  7. Thanks...I'm by there all the time, haven't even noticed it. Will check it out. - OS
  8. Oh my...I just came onto TGO about the time this thread began...and this is the first time I've actually noticed this sticky topic... Though I didn't know her or know you personally, please accept my belated condolences. I hope life is everyday becoming more livable for you now and that the ongoing grace of time passing eases the pain daily. - OS
  9. I'm trying to think WHERE is that pawn shop? Charlie's used to be near there but moved farther out. What's the name of it? - OS
  10. I was told "they are running 4 to 6 weeks". - OS
  11. My guess is no. It's a state job. People tend to hit the Peter Principle in a year or two and stay on long term. They've had some temps answering phones. At least I was told that. Including the one who gave the bogus 90+90 day "cycle" falsehood out to more than one member here. Who supposedly "no longer works here". - OS
  12. Using PayPal helps some. A lot, if you use credit card. Even though most of the buyer/seller protection policies are eBay specific, just the fact that your seller has a PayPal account in good standing is a good sign. And, assuming you use a Credit Card through PayPal, you have the ultimate lever, you can simply file dispute with credit card company if all else fails. Which generally gets the guy's PayPal account nuked. Of course, the seller has to pay PayPal fees on the amount, so most don't want to use it. - OS
  13. Why don't you tell us the story? - OS
  14. Hiya r rat.... Welcome to TGO! - OS
  15. Aha, now I know where Hillsboro is, too! Welcome to TGO... - OS
  16. hiya Super...welcome! - OS
  17. Well, your dogma has probably been run over by your karma. - OS
  18. Always handy to be Catholic. Just do anything you want, as long as you confess later. - OS
  19. How come the 21sf isn't mentioned anywhere on Glock's site? - OS
  20. You've violated so many state and federal laws, I think you have no choice but to call 911 and have yourself arrested at that point. Might as well have a few stiff ones while you wait, too ! - OS
  21. Well, strict interpretation of that law would mean you have to go home and drop weapon. Says you can't "store" it on PO property either, eh? - OS
  22. Oh Shoot

    I'm sorry.

I wasted about a year on The Incredible Machine when it came out in early 90's for the PC. It was more complex, but same principle. - OS
  23. How big is that inner ring? I'm impressed you can SEE it well enough to bead on it at 30 yards! And I still have roughly 20/20 vision still (past 6' or so, anyway, being normally farsighted at my advanced age). - OS
  24. Most folks here are specifically worried about firearms rights ... which makes perfect sense, given the nature of the forum. I see firearms rights as being essentially equally in danger regardless of whether the old fart or the young whippersnapper is elected. Your liberties are equally at risk, whether from left leaning "do-gooders", or right leaning "patriots". Perhaps in extended ways you haven't considered, this Patriot Act tendency is perhaps the most dangerous single threat to your liberty and privacy. In ways Bin Laden never considered, it may be the Jihad's biggest victory in the long run. "Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel." - Samuel Johnson
