  1. Par for the course, I'm afraid. Hopefully, if you mail it AND call, they'll expedite it from here on, but I wouldn't bet the farm on it. - OS
  2. My ole fishin' boat, which needs some glassing to get back in service, is affectionately named "Tennessee Tramp", so that fits right in, eh? Welcome ! - OS
  3. Belated howdy and welcome to town, even though I've read most of your 70+ posts already! - OS
  4. Guess he was nuked by admins? Name not in user list. Not hits with search by username or even by topic text. If you are nuked, all your posts disappear or something? - OS
  5. Well, yeah, but he has to keep his bullet in his shirt pocket. - OS
  6. Is this famous "Kwik"'s posts in archive? What was his actual username? - OS
  7. You must do the show right after mine. Figures, I mostly grew up in Athens, btw. - OS
  8. That's from StellarRigs.com They have terrible pic of it onsite. About $45, alot for a small piece of kydex, but couldn't find anything with same functionality. So nice and flat, better than any leather pocket holster could find and holding the extra mag is a big plus. Rides in right front pocket in any pants I wear, including dress pants. Kahr ships with 6 round mag and 7 round (with pinkie grip). The 7 round doesn't fit in holster under gun, so I bought extra small one. Could actually keep the 7 rounder in gun, but it sticks out a little too far for my tastes. As it is, this baby is VERY quick to get into action; especially if you already had hand in pocket looking nonchalant. Push off extra mag with fingers as you grab grip, can draw and fire literally in 1.5 sec from time hand touches gun. Whole rig is 6x4.5x1.25 inch. 6+1 in pistol, extra 6 handy. Lotta firepower for such a compact package,eh? - OS
  9. Now VA and SC have some sort of hissy fit going... - OS
  10. Last I bought was 8/11, was 19.97 + .10 ammo fee + 1.90 tax = 21.97 Thing is, don't reloading supplies go up about same % ? - OS
  11. Thank you very much, I'll be here all month, please try the veal and remember to tip your waitress - OS
  12. Would need pictures. On second thought, since it IS a smartcarry and all, maybe pictures of your better half demonstrating it would be better - OS
  13. Well, don't get discouraged - there ain't really no rush, ya know. By the way, I carry both the "light" and the "heavy" of things (but not both at once, although I certainly could without undue discomfort). The Kahr with both small mags loaded with 9mm and the pocket rig 25 oz. total. The Ruger loaded with .357 and the Bullard holster total just over your 2 lb question. Both are equally comfortable in their way. Not so comfy I ever forget I'm armed, but not uncomfy enough to bother. And yet with as much effort I've put into the whole carry gun selection process over the last 6 months or so I'm thinking somehow that a Springfield XD SC will REALLY be the perfect all around carry - OS
  14. Distributor is Amscor: http://www.armscor.net/ About RIA: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_Island_Armory_1911_series - OS
  15. Welcome aboard.. No, you don't need a permit to transport an UNLOADED weapon. Keep ammo in trunk, gun in passenger compartment, preferably in a case. Or vice versa probably even better. - OS
  16. Good to see ya, enjoy the site! - OS
  17. Welcome... Well, .22 ain't expensive, but everything else is! - OS
  18. Hi dere... Where you hang your hat? - OS
  19. Little? Heck, it's 9" long and weighs almost 3 1/2 lbs unloaded. Pretty hefty dang piece. But yeah, I'm sure it would be a thrill! - OS
  20. Thanks...okay, so now I know a little about it. Interesting quote here, though from the the above: "Noted firearms expert and barrel maker, the late Gale McMillan, has also commented that lead bullets and polygonal rifling are not a good mix. However, since neither H&K nor Kahr recommend against lead bullets in their polygonal rifled barrels..." Actually Kahr DOES recommend against lead bullets...I'd send comment but I'm not a registered wiki "editor".... I also didn't understand that Glock uses polygonal rifling, as their specs all say "hexagonal" rifling, while Kahr says simply "polygonal" with no mention of how many "sides". I looked at couple other gun sites (S/W and SA) but rifling not mentioned. What is non-polygonal rifling called, just "rifling" with angles mentioned? - OS
  21. Ah thanks for that.. I should probably read up on it. - OS
  22. That's the only thing I can figure. I know Kahr recommends against unjacketed ammo for that reason. And yeah, they have "polygonal rifled" bores, whatever exactly that means. - OS
