  1. Federal and state government should have nothing to do with education. I mean, NOTHING, ZIP, NADA. - OS
  2. Well, you'll still have to have electricity. Maybe better to salt cure. I'm just sayin'... - OS
  3. New opportunities for misdemeanors and felonies you never considered before. (I always try to look on the positive side). - OS
  4. Yeah, you're right. I was thinking of MY grandfather's time. I often forget I've entered codger status. - OS
  5. Kidding, right? Like a lifetime could undo the damage from the LAST 8 years? - OS
  6. And vice versa. It doesn't take too many of "them" failing to bring everything down. It ain't yer grandfather's economy anymore. - OS
  7. Well, the 17th amendment is part of the constitution, which calls for direct election of Senators by the state's residents. - OS
  8. Yep, been a'wantin' one for some time. Finally grabbed one from Coal Creek recently, fired a quick 100 through it immediately. Sweet, to say the least. Just got my DM Bullard Dual Carry for it a few days ago. I put a Pearce on the short mag, shaved it off some so it doesn't have a "point". It's a thick and hefty sucker for sure, but compact...feels good on the hip, conceals quite well (nothing conceals as well as my Kahr PM9, of course). And it is BUILT. You can tell that the 20,000 round torture test on these XD's is no fluke. Did I mention I'm crazy about it? - OS
  9. Welcome from 'nother Knoxvegasian.... Btw, I carry semi-auto mostly, but still LOVE my Ruger SP101. If it carried 10 rounds instead of 5, I think I'd probably carry it all the time. - OS
  10. Well, there is no right to vote for president, only for House and Senate from the residents of each state. I, for one, don't think we SHOULD vote for president. Let the House and Senate, who you DID put in place by your vote, select the president. Presidential elections have become the American Idol show of politics. There's something just wrong about spending a billion dollars for a 400,000 dollar a year job. - OS
  11. All righhht...I'll put one a holder so I can wear it right next to my HCP badge! - OS
  12. They've built quite a rep; always mentioned in top couple of choices on any forum I've ever read; never read any neg feedback at all, 'cept it takes about a month to get one. - OS
  13. Beltman? Sorry I can't give you personal review yet, but I've ordered one from Beltman, and I chose the 7 holes.. My weight fluctuates yearly, seems, plus since I carry IWB, I figger this will be somewhat more versatile to tweak best fit. I won't have it for another 2.5 weeks or so; if you haven't bought one by then, PM me or something and I'll give you my opinion then. - OS
  14. Guess it depends on what you read when. How about this, just a few days ago: As Japan's Economy Falters, New Premier Vows Swift Action Prime Minister Taro Aso speaks to the lower house in Tokyo on Monday. Aso has announced plans to cut taxes and increase government spending. (By Haruyoshi Yamaguchi -- Bloomberg News) By Blaine Harden Washington Post Foreign Service Wednesday, October 1, 2008; Page A12 TOKYO, Oct. 1 -- As Wall Street gyrated this week between panic and hope, dismal new data in Japan showed that the world's second-largest economy, already contracting, has almost certainly fallen into recession.... etc, from Washington Post online: http://tinyurl.com/4x9a3v - OS
  15. Yeah, same as Gander Mountain. Now, though, what if I start to carry a bow and quiver for SD? - OS
  16. Well, bro, I'm not quite in your ballpark, but I am in the outer edge of the parking lot. Meaty or not, many, if not most folks want some leather behind that slide. MTAC, Crossbreed (if you like a combo of Kydex on gun and leather on your bod), lots of other custom leather holster makers. I now have three holsters from DM Bullard, which have that, don't think I could carry IWB without it, as I don't ever wear undershirts. Here's the model I use: David (Bullard) doesn't list Hi-Point as one of his standard custom designs, but might make one. These babies are about $70 including shipping, 'bout same price as MTAC (Comp-Tac) and Crossbreed. best 'o luck, - OS
  17. Dood, TWO sore thumbs, looks like. I finally get your profile pic! - OS
  18. Wow, you can buy a Real Gun for that! - OS
  19. Excellent post. That's pretty much what I postulated way back in this thread. Be safe out there. - OS
  20. What are these mentions of food stations or whatever. Legal to bait deer? Certainly not birds, though, eh? - OS
  21. Horror story after horror story. And just think how few of TN's total HCP folks are actually even registered on this site, and how many have probs. I've dealt with 'bout every level of bureaucracy, both governmental, corporation, and university, and I don't think any of them can hold a candle to the HCP agency at TDOS for sheer inefficiency, erroneous information dissemination, and dare I say even some cases of what can only be seen as outright lying. - OS
  22. Folks, unless there's an October Surprise of some sort, Obama is your next president. They were going over the states that McCain would have to win, and the odds are about the same as drawing to an inside straight flush. - OS
  23. They would be organizing the citizen militia to overthrow the current tyranny that has evolved from their efforts. - OS
