  1. Galco Summer Comfort with drop down for all supported guns...don't know what the model number is, maybe it's there, dunno: http://www.usgalco.com/HolsterPT3.asp?ProductID=2457&CatalogID=7 - OS

    astra handguns

Yeah...heck, I had to look Astra up to see who it was...made in 80's. I'd say there isn't much product support for that puppy... - OS
  3. Sounds good, I'll PM ya later in the week, we'll get it together... - OS
  4. Oh yeah, guy said he had at least 50 boxes... The ones you see in the glass racks out at Gallagher View WalMart are not even where he pulls the ones you get... And yeah, I am right now thinking I can go up there...only for the day, though...not camping..wanna ride together? - OS
  5. Danger, Will Robinson! (possibly) Note that depending on the laptop design/mobo, there are newer hardware components that are NOT supported by XP. Meaning, no video, sound, whatever drivers for example. Devices might work in limited functionality, or not at all. - OS
  6. Yeah, that's the other thing that's been consistently reported here, that even though new issues can be long, renewals are always LONGER. - OS
  7. Great to finally met ya Mike and good to see you again Suntzu and meet your dad and his pal... Well, it wasn't quite the madhouse I expected there, although it seemed to have at least twice as many attendees as the last Jacob's show. But as I was leaving just before 1 I think it was, seemed that it was actually getting even more crowded. So I did buy 1000 rounds of 115 gr FMJ 9mm from Georgia Arms shortly after arriving around 9:30, not knowing if there was really a "panic shortage" happening here and there or not. Had read that even WalMart was backordered and etc, and have been stocking up every other week or so for a while now, so thought this was no time to change that. So that cost $202.11 and included 2 ammo boxes, which are handy. I just lollygagged around with the boys; only things really left on my major list is another 9mm pistola at some point, prolly an XD service, and that most fabulous of EBRs, the fabled High Point 9mm carbine! What there was the absolute LEAST of at the show were new pistols. Really, only about 5 tables with new handguns for sale. Was surprised, since now is the buying frenzy for them. Was also surprised that the prices on these few new guns were pretty much fair retail, no gouging to speak of. By the time I left, though, there really WAS a frenzy at the Georgia Arms area, folks 3 deep buying every caliber there. Took 5 min before I could retrieve the two cans I had already bought but left stashed there to wander around. And then, on the way out, there's ONE High Point carbine I had missed...it was used and they wanted $260, well above MSRP! Dunno WHAT that was about. Ran into old workmate from UT there too, who has also like me gotten back into shooting in the last couple years, urged him to join us here... Oh, and get this: I needed to run by Sam's and get some other usual supplies, so I popped into next door WalMart to see about the ammo situation there. Well, they had all the Blazer Brass (and WWB) 9mm one could want. The BB was 8.67 + tax, so could have actually got my 1000 rounds cheaper than those from GA Arms (but without the nifty ammo cases). Anyway, very enjoyable time... Suntzu picked up a nice oldie there, seemed very pleased, he had to splain to me what it even was, but I'll let him do show and tell on that. Mike, I'll look to the NE about dark from my top floor here and see if I see any fireworks from out Corryton way! - OS

    Winter car gun

That's gonna take a lot of WD-40; would it perhaps be effective to just spray the doors? - OS
  9. Others have also mentioned that it's better to do it in person since receipt serves as continuation of your permit if the new one doesn't get back to you before expiration. Apparently there is no valid online receipt to print, I guess? - OS

    New to Glock

Well, that should almost comfort him. - OS
  11. CTD was featured on ABC news tonight during gun sales story... - OS
  12. Well, at least you didn't buy airweight .357. Most everyone that does, seems to have leftover box of .357 with 49 cartridges in in! - OS
  13. Yep, palm out MUCH easier for me w/ SOB. I experimented quite a bit with this before giving it up. Certainly SOB and appendix are both very good ways to conceal, but I decided the drawbacks outweighed the concealment and wound up with 3:30-4:00 strong side, like majority of everyone else - OS
  14. Last week or so, been tooling around Sequoyah Hills area on some of my walks...(that's one of Knoxville's richest areas, lots of old money and some new money too)... Very few McCain signs, LOTS of Obama/Biden. "It's the economy, stupid." - OS
  15. Oh, Ok, IC. This is except from Amazon book...thought it was standalone. And yeah, I zipped past TOC w/ contributors names... thankee and doh... - OS

    C.G.N ??

Is that like Training, only more better? - OS
  17. Yeah, the various voting stats are bemusing...was NOT a record turnout as predicted. Blacks only voted about 2% more than usual (and blacks are still only about 13% of US population). Biggest % block of voters for Obama were new voters of all ages and races; also, even with Barack being pro choice, evangelicals split. Biggest surprise: less than normal turnout of Republicans. - OS
  18. Dunno what that "rack" is zactly, but I've always kept shottie or rifle under mattress... - OS
  19. What names on what list? This is an 8 page article by Mas, is that what you meant to post? - OS
  20. Well, I won't wait in line, that's for sure... If GA Arms has any of the 9mm for same price, I might get 1000 more... James, I don't see exact hours anywhere.. usually 'bout 9am I think, maybe early as 8, dunno... Here's the standard coupon: - OS
  21. Good drama.... Seriously, though...America crashes and burns at around 20% unemployment and $10/gal gas. 6 in the wild killer whales died recently, of starvation! (bad salmon run due to pollution + overfishing) Among the hardiest and most resourceful creatures on the planet. Two words: soylent green. I'm just sayin.... - OS
  22. I'm betting that it will really be a madhouse there tomorrow, especially with press like the gun spot on ABC news tonight + the big run on ammo nationwide. I think I'll still go, even if I don't get in the door, just to see the likely chaos... - OS
  23. CTD retail store was feature on ABC news tonight, as example of being slammed with folks buying guns... Also, the Golden Saber back down under $20/box, only couple bux higher than when I ordered 3 days ago. Methinks they bumped everything, then got worried about greater harm of bad press that price gouging might incur. One more aside, I got first box of order today, they left out a magazine, though invoice shows it was packed. I'd say that's an indication of just how harried all these places are right now. I'll be, especially after the gun spot on the national news tonight, the Expo show tomorrow will have a line to get in...think I'll still go, just to see possible circus. - OS
  24. Hmmm, gummit released today, 6.5%, the HIGHEST in 14 years. Your sig line: "Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please." Mark Twain Indeed...you study under Baghdad Bob? - OS
