  1.   Probably right, push come to shove.   But most signage is gun or gun/knife specific. Seems knives are very much gray anymore though -- meaning, are they still weapons?   - OS
  2.   Yep, has certainly happened to moi also. Hell, they don't even have to have identical names to cornfuse me sometimes. ;)
  3.   More in depth and current discussion here:   http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/90134-remaining-govt-inventory-of-1911s-to-be-sold-to-the-public/?view=getnewpost   - OS
  4. Scored it off eBay inexpensively from some feller, but doesn't show in last three years, so I must have gotten it before that. How time flies. It does have a "pocket hook", is curved for right pocket carry, but main way to release heater is to press down with right thumb on top while pulling gun butt upward. I can say I tried a Nemesis with my PM9, but it's like carrying a widdle stuffed pillow, so I'm sure I'd hate it equally for a revolver, which is already wider to begin with. Here's a quick pic compilation to show you the style. I thought the little thumb stud sticking out laterally just a bit might be troublesome in pocket, but didn't find it so, but again didn't carry the revolver but a day or two, mainly got the holster as a backup way to carry in case I needed to for some reason (I carry PM9 daily). I think if I wanted it flat on that side without the lateral projection that makes it flat on top, could actually just soften it with heat and pull it straight up and would still serve fine, or do that and even cut a bit off, whatever. - OS
  5.   I'd just like to be able to carry a decent sap now and then.   - OS
  6.   Well, I gotta admit I give BHO a bit more credence on this one that most of his decisions. Not that it ain't political to a certain extent, but to be fair, would a Republican president allow such an end run around the confines of sequestration for funding some part of government favored by liberals?  I doan thin so, Lucy.   The fact that it's the military is of course somewhat galling considering BHO's long onslaught of same, but then again, the Budget Control Act of 2011 had overwhelming GOP support in the House, so it's not like the military having to live within the same proportional constraints is suddenly some big surprise or anything.   - OS
  7.   Probably more than once. Heck, 26 Blue Angels have died in training or shows.   - OS
  8.   Well, it would be Kali bureaucracy, so let them have at it.   - OS
  9. Made by Stellar Rigs. That particular model only made for a few small heaters. The Stellar above doesn't depend on any kind of friction or hook to stay in pocket. Gun just pops out from retention in holster when your fingers go in between grip and extra mag. So there's no further adhesion at all between gun and holster. Been asked that so many times I made a demo pic: I also have a Kydex holster for a J frame, which has a small flat "thumb stud", which you push against while drawing out of the holster. I also find that very effective, more so than depending on part of the holster to "hook" a corner of the pocket. - OS
  10. I had a Cobra .38. Its main asset was that it always went bang.   I couldn't be confident I could hit COM with it past 6 feet, so I wouldn't think I could hit a snake head even with shot shell unless I was close enough to get bit in the first place. :)   But a Cobra ain't a Bond either, and a .38 shot shell ain't 410 either, so...   - OS
  11. Who's gonna do these background checks for ammo? Meaning, it's not in the purview of NICS or any other part of ATF/FBI.   - OS
  12. Yeah, Nemesis models much too thick for me. I prefer leather for most holsters, but for pocket carry can't beat thin Kydex. My PM9: - OS
  13.   Generally either that or the story about him shooting his finger off. :)   - OS
  14. You can also use one of these pins and just forget the whole assembly. Drawback is you can lose them. - OS
  15.     I didn't get the point either
  16. Better that than be around guns with him methinks :)
  17.   Totally forgot about that little detail.   - OS
  18.   Nope, nothing has changed in TCA regarding batons ("clubs").   - OS
  19.   So perhaps this is simply a red herring on part of the writers to cast doubt. And not finishing the sentence leaves it hanging ...   Wonderful!   - OS
  20. Ooooo, that's big. First I've heard that mentioned -- it certainly blew by me. And now looking at article on Huff Post of all places, there was the hint with Enid's comic book from last season: Also, I missed that she has keys to everything? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/walking-dead-basically-confirms-that-theory-you-suspected_5623ce6fe4b0bce347011141 - OS
  21.   JFYI, Hi-Point doesn't make a .22, never has.   - OS
  22.   I always throw stuff like this up when folks say doesn't matter who's president.   SCOTUS is ever so barely currently "for" gun rights (and even Scalia has opined that perhaps not every type gun is guaranteed by 2A).   But imagine the changes the next four (and probably eight) years will bring in the court's makeup, with about half of them likely to leave by then.   Though it's not a sure bet exactly what overall tone a court with 2-4 more appointed by a Republican prez, it's a damn sure bet what tone it'll be if same is done by a Dem like Hillary or Bernie or even Uncle Joe. It'll go so far left you'll need a 10x optic just to see it at all.   - OS
  23.   Only the ten days, not counting Sundays. Bill passed on 7th, but there is always some length of time after that before it officially "hits his desk", never have understood exact time for that.   At any rate, if he's gonna veto it, dunno why he wouldn't just do it immediately rather than prolong a cliffhanger, though. "No Drama Obama" indeed.   I believe he can attach a missive to it in explanation when he sends it back, maybe taking him a while for his staff to write it to his satisfaction, who knows.   - OS
  24. Looks like my Golden Saber 9mm 124gr +p have held up very well over time.   - OS
