  1. That is cool, daddy-o. Really is. - OS
  2. And I can't find the friggin 3M Safety Walk brand number that TractionGrips uses. I can't believe it's not embedded in my cortex, since I spent so long looking for it in person and searching the web for anything less than a $100+ dollar role. But I will find it, dangit. - OS
  3. Oh horse pucky. The Democrats have controlled Nashville since Hector was a pup. They enacted the carry permit and have done nothing to stifle it since. Oh, course, the permit rules need to be relaxed more, but ... - OS
  4. I'm fore (sic) starting a golf ball skeet league. - OS
  5. I PM'd you re this, but you are probably overwhelmed. Even Network Solutions' (yeah, I know, bad rep domain monopolist for so many years) $30/month unlimited storage, unlimited transfer/band width isn't up to the task? Are you saying that no kind of shared hosting will suffice? - OS
  6. Obviously non-loader question: what zactly is "match" brass? Higher quality of some sort, better specs, or what? - Oh "even did quick Google" Shoot
  7. Yeah, Ace had some with bases like you describe, 3 barbs that stick into whatever to anchor the bases. - OS
  8. You do NOT want to use skateboard grit tape on your pistol. The grit rubs off, can get between your holster and metal of your gun and scratch it. Bad juju. Also, the 3M traction tapes that are gritty do the same thing. 3M does make a couple of traction tapes that are great for this purpose however. One is the same one that seller "tractiongrips" on eBay uses. I can't find the type right off, and he doesn't specify it, but after extensive searching, I couldn't find it except in $100 dollar rolls, anywhere on line, (or local, Home Depot, Lowe's etc). It is a Safety Walk product, I'll see if I can find the number again. I bought a set of his (tractiongerips) for my XD, and used only on outside grip and inside thumb slot, they work fine. There is one 3M traction tape you can buy by the foot at Ace Hardware, number 7740 (gray) and number 7732 (black), that is a sealed type surface that's pretty decent (but I could only find the gray version in Knoxville or Chattanooga). I have a set of Decal Grips on my Kahr, but first set peeled right off after a cleaning, they replaced them, am being more careful with this set, dunno if I got solvent underneath or what. AFAIK, Decal Grips uses their own manufacturing specs for those, as even their "sandpaper" variation does not flake off. Again, though, caveat emptor re gritty grip tapes from skateboard tape or 3M types! - OS
  9. "survival" camping. With beer. My kind of roughing it, for sure. - OS
  10. I bought a pair of Comp-Tac clips just to replace metal ones on my Bullard. I ordered the "extra hardware" screws, which came with those rubber jobbies, but I didn't need them...actually, didn't even need the screws either, as it turned out. As you Comp-Tackers know, the Comp-Tac screws have allen wrench fitting instead of normal screwdriver one. - OS
  11. Might need a rubber bushing for "push back" tension (or not). Holster makers recommend a drop of locktite once you get it where you want it, too. - OS
  12. They are just "chicago screws", or "post screws" are they not? I've bought them at Ace Hardware for a couple of projects, available in metal or plastic, different length posts. - OS
  13. There is no SC (sub compact) model of the XDM, if that's what you mean. - OS
  14. Whattya mean "seems" like. Body count increasing daily, nationwide. I afraid that 1st of the year will see huge layoffs, that many companies for various reasons, some of them even possibly benevolent, will wait till then if they can. - OS
  15. Well, he claims, best I remember, 5 ADs during classes, with 3 actually shooting themselves with Serpa. - OS
  16. Well, if the worst should happen, you're already riding your survival rations. - OS
  17. There are places you can/can't carry in each of those states, and they vary from TN and from each other. You can see particulars at handgunlaw.us and nraila.org/GunLaws/ - OS
  18. Yeah, according to warriortalk, Suarez won't allow Sherpa use in their classes. Claim that the retention release is conducive to that same finger flipping right onto the trigger when drawing at speed, as I understand it. That wouldn't be necessarily confined to Glocks, though. - OS
  19. Common topic on every SD forum. The answer is going to be 95+% yes. And should be 100% yes, once you understand the safe handling of your weapon. If you have doubts, the standard drill is to carry your semi-auto cocked with no round in the chamber, day after day, draw and re-hoster it day after day, etc, until you understand that it won't fire unless the trigger is pulled, and you are fully confident that you WON'T pull that trigger unless you intend to. And my answer is, yes, of course, I carry one in the chamber of my XD and my Kahr. - OS
  20. Heck, forget EBR or 1911 stuff, CCA hasn't even been able to scare me up an XD Service in over three weeks ... I'm amazed that anyone anywhere still doesn't now own a handgun or two! And half the newbie owners probably have never shot theirs, and never will. - OS
  21. It's not too bad if there's a water supply, and it's not too cold... ...or hot, or wet ... .. or mosquitoes, or chiggers ... You know, like if there's not too much of that nature stuff... - OS
  22. It's illegal in plain sight too. Except when using the fishing, hunting, camping clause. - OS
  23. Happens about half the time, seems. I've PM'd at least 3 sellers since I've been on TGO just to ask location for some stuff I was mildly interested in. - OS
  24. O is a contemporary politician, and his lips were undoubtedly moving when he said this. That's really all you need to know. - OS
