  4. My "next pistol", just became my "newest pistol" yesterday. Got my XD 9 service to keep my XD SC 9 company. Kewl. - OS
  5. Correct. For a while, either invite or sign up using mobile phone info. Never did understand that one. But now, just sign up. Also, for those who may not know, you can POP your gmail with most any email client, if like me, you use dedicated email proggie (like Pegasus, in my case). - OS
  6. I wish his posts were still around; maybe they are, but can't search for them. - OS
  7. I didn't even know Golden Saber brand was around in '01-'02. But I wasn't shooting much of anything except .22 and shotgun for many years, so didn't really start reading about/shooting different defensive loads till about a year ago. Anyway, DS, will certainly be interested in your chrono results if you get around to that at some point. - OS
  8. Well, DS and Todd, those tests *were* a long time ago, so dunno. Certainly not heard Golden Saber dissed re this anywhere else. I've never done any real "science" on them, but have fired maybe 150 rounds of 9mm and 50 of .357, and flash and oomph have looked and felt consistent. Fired most of them indoors at Coal Creek initially, where you really notice degree of flash due to being relatively dimly lit there. Would I notice a 100 fps variation in oomph (highly technical term) ? Dunno. By the way, guys at Guns and More said Knox cops use the GS (in 9mm anyway, unclear whether normal or +p, actually unclear whether 9mm or .40 come to think of it), which was another reason I felt kinda comfy with them. Then again, maybe Remington gives them away. - OS
  9. Sometimes I forget some of the reasons I only have ex-wives. - OS
  10. No you can't. Well, you had THAT part right, but only if you said it aloud.- OS
  11. I like it. It's not as high velocity as many +p's, so very controllable recoil even in my Kahr - the effectiveness seems to be largely in the bullet design. It's also very much reduced flash/smoke from some others I've shot. I've fired a bunch of it in XD SC and also in .357 mag in revo, so it's become my choice. Plus, like you, I got a decent stash of it back when CheaperThanDirt was still sane and had it priced cheaper than anyone else that I could find. - OS
  12. I finally have to mention during whole course of this thread...whenever I see it spelled "chipmonks", I flash lots of little furry guys in robes with cowls hanging out in a mountain monastery doing very high-pitched Gregorian chants. - OS
  13. I used to hit 30 sec - 1min delays a time or two in a long perusal session. Would usually refresh another tab to make sure it wasn't my pipe. So far, have not experienced that again. Seems spiffy - kudos, Tungsten! - OS
  14. Also true, but on the third hand (you do have one, right?) shotties have been a hot item last few months, and Wally's does sell quite a few suitable for home defense (where they still sell guns). http://www.walmart.com/catalog/catalog.gsp?cat=170084 Was reading somewhere that only in Alaska, WalMart also sells handguns. - OS
  15. Actually, we've seen written WalMart policy posted somewhere onsite that they may ask you to conceal your firearm or leave store. - OS
  16. There were some lawsuits or other, too, haven't ever really researched. Talk about possible disinformation: sporting goods guy at one Wally's here said there's some corporate rule about being too close to a university. That Wally's is about 10 miles from UT. Obviously, lately, sluggish gun sales certainly doesn't hold water, eh? - OS
  17. None in Knox Co sell guns, or even will order them. - OS
  18. PP is not anti-gun, anymore than say, Wal-Mart, which doesn't sell firearms in most of their stores anymore. But I'll bet you still buy ammo from them. Not to mention that there is no real affordable alternative to using PayPal for many folks. And I can buy/sell lots of firearm related items through PP. Any number of gun-related merchants accept PayPal, notably, a good many holster makers. If there were a viable alternative to PayPal that allowed sale of guns/ammo, I'd use it and probably so would they. But there isn't. Price your own merchant account for credit card processing sometime. Incidentally, I bought some stuff from CheaperThanDirt not long ago. Sure, they are gouging SOB's. So I didn't buy any of their overpriced items, but did buy some that they were selling cheaper than anyone else. So, the line for me is drawn somewhere between practicality and tinfoil idealism. - OS
  19. I had trouble with the 1911 detail strip. Could do it, but they only give ya 5 minutes flat. - OS
  20. Jest seems to me you shouldda been skinning and freezing them as you go. By the time yer done (if ever), yer missing out on big pot of stewed chipmunk and dumplins. Yummmm.... - OS
  21. Almost certainly, she had her information stolen when she responded to a phishing email with a bogus login to the scammer's ip OR her computer could have been compromised via various malware, along with various login information? - OS

News to me. You pay Yahoo for internet access? Dialup? Perhaps you mean you use Yahoo for email, and/or Yahoo portal as first step on the web? I can't find any info that Yahoo has become an ISP? - OS

Who is your ISP? (internet service provider) - OS
  24. No idea in exactly what context da Gov made that comment, but Wisc is one of the two No Way No How carry states. Although from what I read, Hawaii is really a third one. NRA-ILA summary does state: "CARRYING It is unlawful for any person except a peace officer to go armed with a concealed and dangerous weapon. There is no statutory provision for obtaining a license or permit to carry a concealed weapon. State law does not prohibit the open carrying of a firearm, but a person should exercise caution when carrying a firearm in public." As I understand it from reading other forums, "exercising caution" is for real, because you'll be arrested. - OS
