  1. I just had a call from Rep. Todds office to thank me for contacting him. Obviously he is going to vote for it! I asked her if he is confident that he has the votes to override the veto in the house and she told me that he had been working VERY hard to get those votes and that he believes that he does. It will be voted on Wednesday in the House but she's not sure that the Senate will have time to get it done this week and it may be Monday for them. Thanks Rep. Todd! that's how to treat the citizens of TN. I still have not heard from either of my two legislators so I guess I send them another email.
  2. Guys I just went thru the other thread to see how many sure votes we have to override the veto. There are 99 Reps. so there needs to be 50 votes for a simple majority. The Senate has 33 members so we need 17 votes on that side. By the count I just came up with we have only 11 that have confirmed to us that they will vote to override. I counted 13 in the Senate from our posts here on TGO. I'm sure that there are more but if someone didn't say they personally told them then I didn't count them. Let's see what we can come up with. If you want to add on that's not on the list then copy & paste the list to the new post and then try to put the addition in alpha order. Keep Senate separate from the House. No need for comment here. Let's don't clutter this up. Post those in the other thread. Don't assume anything. Only post if they sent a message by email or called you. After you add one, change the total at the end of the list. If anyone sees that I have made a mistake and incorrectly list someone as a yes that should be a no then correct it and change the number. Let's get a good count on who is in our corner. Senate Beavers, Black, Burchett, Crowe, Faulk, Jackson, Johnson, Ketron, McNally, Southerland, Stanley, Tracy, Mr. Speaker Ramsey 13 Total House Campfield, Faulkner, Fincher, Floyd, C. Johnson, Lollar, Matlock, Moore, Mumpower, Ramsey, Todd 11 Total
  3. I got this from Rep. Floyd... Kind of a vague response, but I have read in countless news articles here in town that he will be voting for the override. I still haven't heard anything back from Sen. Berke (no surprise there as he is an anti-2A ).That sounds like a vote against the bill since he didn't say one way or the other. I see that others have said he told them he would vote for the override. I sure hope he hasn't changed his mind. Maybe we all need to flood him with emails again.
  4. This is what pisses me off, that we are looked at as criminals by the public because these "news" sources tell them that we are. If the public had even half a brain they would know better but we all know that these people need someone to do their thinking for them. And just what makes you think that the rest of that group isn't also packing?
  5. That's pretty cool that he took the time to talk with you. Isn't he a Representative and not a Senator.
  6. I got this @ 4:07 this afternoon from Rep. Curry Todd.
  7. Very cool. My wife is beginning to want her own gun.
  8. To early to call yet. I want to see who else may want to throw their hat in the ring. Does anyone think that Fred Thompson may give it a go? I just want someone who will do everything that I want and nothing that I don't want. Is that asking too much!
  9. Done and we are still behind.
  10. I quit watching when the Preds failed to make it. I do like hockey.
  11. And to think that I settled for Wendy's. sigh
  12. So that means that the blanket statement that we still can't carry in bars is partly right and partly wrong?
  13. Did I miss something? I was under the impression that all restrictions had been removed from the bill and there was no distinction between restaurants and bars. I keep seeing people say this so if I am mistaken I would like to have someone who knows correct me. IF I am correct then the others that are making this statement needs to stop misrepresenting what the bill says. Fallguy, set me straight.
  14. Unless it is legally posted.
  15. LMAO!!! Just saw him do the Best of Jay Walking! There are some real DA's walking around and I'll bet 99% voter for the Messiah.
  16. Even though Haynes is against the bill you should still send him 2 or 3 emails a day until the house has acted on the bill. My Senator is Doug Henry and he is the most useless Senator on the hill but he is getting multiple emails anyway. Their job is to represent us. Our job is to tell them what we want. I think that it is vital that we do our part no matter how futile it may seem.

  18. That's not what Sen. Jackson told me this morning in an email. I'll stand by that. There's no telling who the guy is that posted that in the Tennessean.
  19. VERY GOOD DavidD!!! Possibly a little long but hopefully effective.
  20. I have been emailing other members of the legislature to encourage them to vote to over-ride this veto. I just don't tell them I don't live in their district. Except for Sen. Jackson and Rep. Curry. I have sent a mass email to the following list of Senators and Reps. that voted against the bill and sent them BCC so they don't know who all received the same email. 21. It's too bad this is not this weekend. We need one today before the House takes up the over-ride.
