I've been a big Tennessee Volunteer football fan for years. I went to my first game on the hill in 1971. I went with a bit different spelling because Volsfan is almost always gone on most forums thus Volzfan.

My cousin's got one and he loves his. I have driven it and it drove very good but I can't give pro's and con's from that. I would surely consider one if I were in the market for a vehicle.

TGO Guns & Leather Shoot August 30th @ 5pm
Volzfan replied to Metalhead's topic in Events and Gatherings
This sounds like a good time. I am going to try to make it but can't confirm it yet so I haven't voted. -
And from what we've seen from our 2A supporters already in office (Bredesen, Alexander, Jim Cooper, etc.) we can't even trust them.

I am hoping that someone here can point me in the right direction for an estate planning lawyer in the Nashville area. I need one to look over my parents Wills, Living Wills, Durable POA and POA for Health Care. I need to be sure that they are all in order before it's too late. I can get one from the phone book but would rather get one that came from a recommendation from a member.

If you are in a hurry to be able to carry whatever handgun you decide on you should borrow or rent a gun and go ahead and take your carry class and get that process under way. Guns and Leather can fix you up. You are probably looking at 2 to 3 months before you can get the HCP and legally carry. You don't have to qualify with your own gun.

Demos Banning Guns - My Correspondence with owner
Volzfan replied to HoustonGrey's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Here's their data about 80% that was in the Tennessean article that Mr. Demos was also in; It says that 78 out of the 100 who responded, which is close to 80%. However they sent a survey to 650. So 78 out of 650 surveys sent out is only 12%. I'm guessing that the other 550 didn't think is was important enough to respond to the Tennessee Hospitality Association. -
Demos Banning Guns - My Correspondence with owner

David: Thank you for writing us about your position on guns in restaurants. As a gun owner myself, I know the arguments for allowing guns. I received about 150 calls before we decided what to do with most (80-90%) saying that they would not eat with us if we allow guns. I also spoke with several police officers as well. I knew no matter which way we decided, we would lose customers. Also, I knew that 80% of restaurants surveyed were going to post no guns along with shopping malls that have already decided on this issue. This was purely a business decision based on the facts that I had in front of me at the time. I understand your position that many people with concealed guns were eating with us prior to this law, but this was illegal in all restaurants that served alcohol prior to this law as well. However, this was a personal choice of our customer, and not something that we can't enforce now anyway. I understand if you do not want to eat with us, and I really hope you change your mind. I am asking all people to please contact their state representatives and ask them to actually make a decision on guns instead of making restaurants chose. I hope you understand that I do not want to lose a customer, and I have lost sleep over this decision. Regardless of what I choose, I am going to be wrong. Again, please help me change this law where the legislature will do the right thing instead of trying to save their chances for re-election by riding the fence. Thank you, Peter Peter Demos President Demos' Restaurants 1119 NW Broad St Murfreesboro TN, 37129 615-225-8797 615-962-9285 (fax) -

Demos Banning Guns - My Correspondence with owner
Volzfan replied to HoustonGrey's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I just wanted to send a quick note about the Tennessean article where you said that you were not going to allow law abiding HCP holders to carry in your restaurants. Unfortunately, I'll have to add Demos' to the list of restaurants that I'll no longer be able to visit. I know that you've got a great business and even in this tough economic time you apparently don't need my dollars. I have been going to the restaurants that don't serve alcohol for years with my handgun and have never had a problem with anyone identifying me as someone with a gun. Most people in TN have been dining with us for years without having any clue that we are sitting at the next table. The only reason for their fears now is the way the media have portrayed those of us who carry a weapon for our own security. It seems that you have also fallen for the smear campaign that the media in TN is waging against us. I would urge you to reconsider your decision to post your restaurants. Give us a 1 month trial and you will see that there will be no issues and the rest of you customers will not notice anything different. Thank you for a wonderful eating experience and thank you for your thoughtful consideration of my request. Respectfully Volzfan -
Yep that's the next step.

I am also a member of both and I have signed up for the GOA alerts but I didn't get this one. I have heard others complain that they were signed up but not getting them all. It has just started happening to me. I have sent an email to GOA but have not received a reply yet. Sent my emails. Again!

I have received numerous alerts from GOA on this but I don't think we can do anything about it. The Dems have the votes to confirm but that doesn't mean that I am not sending the emails and making calls. I will be very surprised if any Dems break rank and vote against her. I even expect our very own TN Traitor, Sen. Alexander, to vote to confirm her, based on the emails replies that I have received from him. GOA is much better than the NRA. LaPierre seems to be only concerned with keeping the money flowing to his personal bank account.

I've been emailing Corker and Alexander since BHO announced her as his choice for the Supreme Court. Corker sounds as if he will vote against her while Alexander is proving why he needs to go.
