What price did they have on it?
  2. I caught one in a live trap in front of my house just off of Haywood Lane in Nashville. It cost me $56 to get a wildlife trapper to get him and take him away. Didn't even spray when caught or carried away. The trapper did get sprayed when he swapped the cages though. AFAIC it was money well spent! Never would have guessed that there was a skunk in the area. Never smelled one here!
  3. If that's their policy them I'm done with them! Is this a nationwide contest? If it is I'll enter my business in it and see what response that I get.
  4. With everyone having different driving styles it's hard to put a mileage number that's accurate for all. Also those who spend a lot of time on the open road won't need them as often as someone who drives around the large cities that have to stop for traffic lights every other block. Find a mechanic that you trust and let him tell you how to check them yourself. Every time I take my car to have the free tire rotation done they will let me know how my pads look. Of course they will try to sell me brakes so I always assume that I have more time than they say.
  5. I watch it and like it. Reality shows on Discovery are so much better than network reality shows! My tv rarely ever lands on a regular network channel.
  6. All of the ammo that I saw in the 'Boro were overpriced. IMO, don't waste your time and money!
  7. All of the shortcomings of this useless bill were well documented in the many TFA alerts that I'm subscribed to. I would hope that in the next session it can be amended to a better bill.

  10. I know but they can push for it to begin and since my Rep. is Jim Cooper...well that should explain why I didn't ask him! Just stirring the pot a bit.
  11. My owners manual says every 5000 miles. I thought for years that the quick change locations have been pushing 3000 mile changes just so they can get more of my money. This article supports that belief. It can't hurt though.   Do you really need to change your oil every 3,000 miles? By Bankrate.com     By Rick Popely, Cars.com No, you don't, according to every auto manufacturer we've talked to. The main advocates of the 3,000-mile oil change schedule are those who would profit by it: repair facilities, quick-lube chains and service departments at some new-car dealers. Years ago it was a good idea to change the oil and filter frequently, but because of advances in engine materials and tighter tolerances, as well as the oil that goes into engines, most manufacturers recommend intervals of 7,500 miles or more.   Ford, Volkswagen and Porsche, for example, recommend oil changes every 10,000 miles. So does Toyota on several engines, including the Prius' 1.8-liter four-cylinder and the Camry's 2.5-liter four-cylinder. BMW says owners can go up to 15,000 miles between oil changes (with synthetic oil). The intervals vary by manufacturer and engines, so consult your owner's manual or maintenance schedule to see how often to change the oil in your vehicle and what type of oil to use. You may be surprised. We were surprised to learn that the Camry's 2.5-liter engine requires 0W20 synthetic oil, for instance. Manufacturers suggest you change oil more often for "severe" driving conditions, such as frequent trailer towing, extensive stop-go driving or idling in traffic, driving in extreme heat or cold, or frequent short-distance driving in which the engine doesn't reach full operating temperature. Some car companies, Ford and General Motors among them, equip most vehicles with oil life monitors that tell you when it's time to change the oil based on vehicle speed, engine temperature, climate conditions, number of cold starts and other factors. They can all cite examples from owners who say the oil-life monitors indicated they could go even longer than the recommended change intervals. If you're nervous about going 10,000 miles or more between oil changes, then do it every six months, when you probably should also have your tires rotated (also explained in your owner's manual). GM says to change your oil at least once a year even if the service indicator warning light doesn't come on. With longer recommended intervals between oil changes, it's more important to check the oil level at least once a month to make sure you have enough. But to change oil every 3,000 miles is probably wasting money. Environmentalists say it also adds to the glut of used oil that must be recycled or disposed, and the state of California is trying to discourage the practice. If the guy at the quick-lube shop says he's only trying to help you when he recommends frequent oil changes, consider this: It is not in the interest of an auto manufacturer for you to suffer premature engine failure caused by worn-out oil. If that happens, they might have to pay for repairs under warranty and probably will lose you as a customer. Yet, they're the ones advising you to follow longer oil-change intervals. 13. ...asking how much more that it was going to take before criminal charges and impeachment proceedings were going to begin for this administration. I doubt that they have a canned answer waiting for that!
  14. I thought for sure that we had some Fayetteville residents here! I guess I was mistaken!
  15. I keep my gun on my hip until I go to bed. When anyone comes to the door and I tell them that I'm not interested thru the still locked security door, the sight of my piece seems to put a nice exclamation point on my statement that I am NOT interested! I don't buy anything from DTD salesmen/women! Well maybe Girl Scout Cookies!

  18. I think that I may be able to get on with Goodman in Fayetteville and my wife is fed up with her employer and she won't make it 9 more years till she's 65. I've looked on Realtracs and can see properties for sale at some very good prices compared to Nashville. What I don't know is if there are any areas to avoid like there are here. We are not looking to go very large but rather downsize from where we are now. I'm looking at a real drastic difference in the cost of living down that way. I don't want to be down next to the AL line but anything half way there and then back toward Fayetteville would be good. My Mom was born and raised in the Boonshill area and the house that she was born in back in 1926 is for sale but it WAY more than I want or can afford. I'm excited about the possibility of moving down there.   What info can anyone share about the area? Or even the possibility of a better job than Goodman?
  19. I had one stolen back in '06 and got mine back 18 months later. Insurance had paid me for it so I called my agent. They contacted the company and told them what had happened and the told the agent to tell me not to worry about it. They didn't want to have to retrieve the paper records from storage over it. Thank God for the old way of doing things!!! If it were to ever happen again I would bet that I shouldn't report the same gun stolen again! It is much more secure now!
  20. Witnesses would always be a big plus at a trial but that isn't always possible. Even if you aren't criminally prosecuted you will likely be sued by the family. Everyone knows just how sweet and kind that dead gangbanger really was and you were just out looking for a victim!
  21. According to todays Tennessean, Nashville is 1.26" below normal for the month but 4.61" above normal for the year. It sure seems that we would be over more than that. I live very near the airport which is where the official total is taken, I think, so that should be close to my levels here.
  22. I'm happy that our law is as it is and that accidental exposure isn't a crime. Constitutional carry is where we should be but we are not there yet. We have to live with what we have unless someone wants to be a test case and have the money to fund that. I don't have that kind of cash! The NRA should use all of that money they spend on mailings to fund such a case!
  23. The ONLY thing that would surprise me coming out of the White House would be O's resignation!
