Dick's has always been high as far as I'm concerned. If there is no other source then I would have to consider buying from them but that hasn't happened yet. I don't even check with them anymore.

2nd Amendment March - Monday April 19, 2010
Volzfan replied to Volzfan's topic in Events and Gatherings
We are pleased to announce that attendees of the Second Amendment March in Washington, D.C. can reserve rooms at the Sheraton National Hotel in Arlington, VA at a greatly reduced rate. The Sheraton National is a 3.5-star hotel that normally books for $250 or more per night. However, we have negotiated a deal that reserves a block of rooms for only $99 per night (plus taxes and plus parking, if applicable. Parking is $20 per night.). The Sheraton National is near the Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery, and is across the Potomac from the Washington Monument. The hotel offers a free shuttle to/from Reagan National Airport (about 5 minutes away), as well as the nearest metro station (Pentagon City). The Sheraton National has also assured us that they are firearm friendly. All they ask is that when you leave your firearm in your room that you lock it in the provided room safe. Please note that the $99 per night does not include breakfast. We felt that it was more important to offer the lowest rate possible for our attendees since many people do not eat breakfast or may prefer to make alternate arrangements. Also note that their on-site restaurant is rather pricey ($4.99 for juice, $15 for breakfast buffet). Just wanted to give a heads up on that. To make your reservation online, please go to our special site set up just for Second Amendment March attendees: Welcome. Act quickly, because these rooms won't last long at this rate! -
What is the smallest DA/SA 9mm pistol on the market?

I would agree with lowbud but his statement should have read, "I wouldn't be surprised if 35 to 40 % of the firearms sold in the US (used) are never fired by the seller." I don't think that his statement was referring to the manufacturer.

I usually have whatever is on the Discovery channel thru the day. Favorite is watching "OverHaulin" with Chip Foose. They can sure make some old cars look awesome.

I hear gunfire fairly often here in the Haywood Ln/I-24 area but it's usually the Apts on Apache Trail and Packard Dr. I dug a .38 out of my roof a couple of years ago after someone shot one in the air on July 4th.

Anyone stopped in yet?

I just noticed this yesterday and was wondering if anyone has been by to check them out yet. Sorry, I couldn't crop the appliances from this.

I went to WalMart @ Harding Pl and Nolensville Rd in Nashville about a year ago. On the way in I noticed that their flag was tattered and torn. I went to Customer Service and asked to see a Manager and told him of the condition of their flag and that was extremely disrespectful. He said that he would take care of it and apologized. I went back to get a Gal. of milk and left. He had already had them change the flag. +1 for that manager!

Thanks! I saved it this time.

What's the name of the place in Lavergne that has been selling primers at reasonable prices? No shipping or HazMat fees with them.
-
Don't think that the XD gear is worth anything. I don't think that mine has been out of the box. I do love my XD-40 compact.
-
How much do they charge for the Haz Mat fee?

I do Facebook but I don't do the games that they have on it. I've heard that is where these viruses come from. I just communicate with friends and family. It lets me keep up with my nieces that are in college and also reconnect with classmates from 30+ years ago. That has been fun. Even some that have become friends from different internet sites. No viruses yet. I do use Firefox.

The SCOTUS said it's not their job to protect us.

To the OP, I watched some of Nutnfancy's Sheepdog video and he refers more to plane crashes and accidents like that than he does having HCP holders jump into bad situations to save the sheep. I would think that most guys here would help if they were in situations similar to his discussion. He made a comment about Flight 93 and how the "Sheepdogs" on that flight took over the plane and even though they all died, they still saved the sheep on the ground and no one on the ground was killed. He then said that real sheepdogs would say "I wish I had been on that plane". How stupid was that! The people that he describe only find themselves in situations where they can help. They don't spend their days searching for them. I think that if any of us were to also find ourselves in situations where we can stop a VT shooter then we would do it (OOPS! Gun Free Zone). OK then a Mall shooting, (most Mall's are GFZ's too). OK a guys starts shooting up a Wally World and we are right there within 20 or 30 ft of the shooter then I believe that any of us would do all that we could to take him out.

I also carry to protect myself and my loved ones. Your example seems to want to make all HCP holders a secondary law enforcement agency and that is not the purpose of HCP's. LEO's don't want us out there trying to protect everyone who may be in our immediate vicinity. Now, if I'm in some business and a nut comes in shooting I'm gonna protect myself and if by doing so I save the lives of some others then that is fine and I'll be glad that it worked out that way. But that is not my job to protect the rest of Nashville.

Exactly. If you are not comfortable with that then just don't do it.

I lost about 50 lbs 2 years ago mostly by walking (4 miles a day) and eating better. Oct of '08 I developed tendinitis in my left knee and couldn't walk without pain. I put a lot of it back on and need to do something to take it back off. Count me in.

I'm 52 years old and grew up in the late 50's, 60's and 70's. I trusted everyone that I met and back then it didn't bite me in the butt too often. Times have surely changed. It has taken some time and effort to make that adjustment in my thinking. I still want to trust everyone that I meet but that just is not wise these days. I have meet some of the guys here on TGO and I don't automatically trust them either. It is nothing against them but just the way it has to be. When it comes to the guys here I would be quicker to trust than total strangers that I have had no interaction at all. People can be entirely different in person than they are online as I'm sure you know. When it comes to HCP holders, yes they are good enough to be able to pass the background check to get their permit but if I am hiring someone that has access to my assets then I would also want to be as diligent as possible to know as much as I can about someone that I am going to trust with my business. I don't blame anyone that has to hire to do this too. I have never in my life done drugs but I would not be offended if I was required to take a test in the application process. The bottom line is that now everyone has to EARN my trust, HCP or not.
