Your friend helped his supplier sell his drugs and he knew he was wrong in doing so but did it anyway. He was no longer a simple user with no victims. Everyone that dealer sold to was a victim and your friend helped. He was caught, charged and convicted. He is a felon for life. I believe that what was said earlier, that when he gets out. he should go to school and get a degree and get a good job. Maybe the felony conviction won't prevent it. Then work to get the conviction expunged and his rights restored. I don't have a problem with that. If that is the path he chooses then I wish him all of the best. The question that you posed about him being anywhere near a gun is one that I hope one of our lawyers will explain. I don't know. I never needed to know. I do have a cousin sitting in jail right now with 7 felony vehicular assault charges pending. That's why I'm interested in the answer to that part of your post.

No not at all. I think it's the best that could happen at this point. This bill with the amendment is a piece of crap. If this Senate version were to pass in the House as is, there might be time to beat a veto because that would be the quickest that it could happen. I really hope that doesn't happen. I'll just be content to wait till next year and just maybe they can get one right!

There will never be enough time for the house to change the bill, pass it, send it back to the senate, then senate pass it (if they pass the House version), send it to Bredesen to lay on his desk for 10 days, Bredesen vetos the bill, bill dies because the legislators have gone home to campaign and raise money.

I agree that Beavers and Jackson have been a HUGE disappointment and they need to answer for their actions but I can't agree that Henry and Jones are not a problem. They are both sorry excuses for public servants and I'm not talking about only 2A issues. I have many more issues with them both and I'm doing all that I can to get them voted out of their seats. If those of us in their districts can get them replaced with true 2A supporters then we will have accomplished something. They are the only two that I can affect with my vote. Beavers and Jackson are backstabbers and it's up to their constituents to take care of them. The rest of us should be flooding them with calls and emails voicing our displeasure with their recent actions. I've sent mine.

I think that our best scenario is that this dies for this session. Next year we will hopefully have voted out some of the fools like Doug Henry (my Senator) and Sherry Jones (my Representative) and replaced them with true 2A supporters and have a 2A Governor in office and then see what we can get accomplished.

I hope TN takes note and passes this type of legislation before our neighbors do.

We had a smart a** in our class doing head shots. After missing 4 or 5 shots he decided that CM was the better target area!

7 years of rapid fire would wear out most shooters and really go thru a lot of ammo. I'm glad that we didn't have to do that in my class.
