  1. I guess I was right.
  2. I thought that it was 6 months. If that's right you should do it ASAP in case it does take a while. I'm sure someone else will know for sure.
  3. 35 years would be a good start. He may not live that long in prison. That's better than he got for killing Holloway.
  4. I am going to do everything that I can to unseat the old coot. I have been in contact with James Chesser who is running against him. His website is James Chesser for Tennessee Senate - District 21 | Home I believe that the other opponent is Steve Dickerson. I hope that someone can beat Henry. He has a lot of support over in W. Nashville.
  5. TNReb, I'm inclined to agree with you on when it actually goes into effect. Thanks for the clarification!
  6. That is about the fastest that I have heard of so far. Mine expires next year so I'm watching threads about renewals. I don't remember how long my first one took but now I'm hearing that they can really be a long wait. I wish they would go to an online renewal.
  7. Well since Doug Henry was deleting so many of your emails, I resent mine and changed the subject to "It would be nice if you read this before deleting". I guess that it worked. He read it and actually replied to it. That is the first time for that. EVER!!! Of course I'm not surprised at his feeble answer.
  8. He was a member of MAIG (Mayors Against Illegal Guns) until it became a liability to him.
  9. TGO is David's playground and David's rules. Simple as that. It's our choice to stay and play by those rules or go somewhere else.
  10. There are quite a few candidates. I only had 10 lines for the poll. Here is the link that shows the rest. Politics1 - Online Guide to Tennessee Politics
  11. Even your own statement is confusing, at least to me. You first stated that... 1) Senator Doug Jackson, the sponsor, right after the veto was overridden and he told her it was effective immediately. So Sen. Jackson is right. But then you said 2) I think Curry Todd was correct in that the override had to be signed by both speakers and engrossed on the records of the legislature to be effective--just like it had to be signed by both, engrossed and sent to the governor on passage. So Rep. Curry Todd is right. ?????????????
  12. There is already a thread about this that we can use for discussion. Posting a poll will allow us to actually see the numbers for each candidate plus the members who just lurk can also vote without having to post. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/tennessee-politics-legislation/41087-who-gonna-get-your-vote-govenor.html
  13. I wonder what the LEO's on the street are hearing about how they should enforce the new law. I understand that you talked with Rep. Todd but it just makes me wonder if anyone really knows for sure. Sec. of State's office isn't exactly like asking someone who slept at a Holiday Inn Express last night!
  14. I saw this on the TFA's forum today.
  15. Gov. Candidates Sound Off On 2nd Amendment - Nashville News Story - WSMV Nashville I don't really like any of those answers.
  16. Man she scares me! She is worse than Hillary and Nancy put together!
  17. Has anyone been able to correctly determine when this is law will actually go into effect? I keep seeing different times and it is important to be sure before we start carrying into restaurants. I have seen July 1st and also as soon as the bill is assigned a number.
  18. This would be great but I can't afford to let go of the $$ for equipment right now. I've been saving brass though. A friend in OK primed 700 pieces of 40 S&W brass.
  19. That's the way most elections are these days. I seem to have found more negatives for Haslam and Wamp. Haslam is even a big $$ Tennessee Vols supporter and I won't vote for him.
  20. Ron Ramsey. I know people that know him and all that I hear is good things like GKar said above. I know that when he says he's a strong 2A supporter that he really is. I don't trust Haslam or Wamp. I think that they will both say whatever it takes to get elected like the majority of politicians do. Haslam was a member of MAIG and also went against us with the guns in parks issue in Knoxville. Should have made this a poll so we could see the numbers.
  21. From the times that I stopped in Dick's they need to put their ammo on sale just to get close to everyone elses regular prices. I don't waste my time checking with them anymore.
  22. I think it won't be long before I will need one just to drive north on Nolensville Rd. I guess that will be another reason to avoid that area.
  23. I keep mine behind my TDL. It's no one's business if I have a carry permit.
  24. Welcome to TGO!
