I guess that they figure that he will get the Titans talked about on every news, sports and radio station in the country and any extra exposure is good. Maybe there will be more good than bad. Even with Pacman everyone always cheered when he made a play!

Haslam-gun owners should be able to keep weapons cars
Volzfan replied to Tim Nunan's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Yep! -
I voted today and I've been voting since '75 I lost my first presidential vote to Carter also. I vote in every election that comes up. The only time that I voted for President and felt that it was the best man for the job was Reagan. All of the others were more like voting for the lesser of two evils or voted for one just hoping that he would beat the other. McCain is the latest example of that. It sure would be nice to have real candidates for a change.

I've bought 1 gun off of Gunbroker and 1 gun from Bud's. I could find neither locally but would have preferred to buy them locally if available and at a comparable price. I'll gladly pay a little more from a local dealer but not if that price is considerably more than a price on the internet.

I call the cops whenever anything seems out of line. If you called the cops and these guys are legit then they should be able to prove it. Why wait until someone opens the door and these guys kill someone.

Bill Haslam at TFA meeting last night
Volzfan replied to 1gewehr's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
That's what scares me about him. Very good, detailed review, 1gewehr! Thanks! -
I'm goin tomorrow if nothing happens to prevent it. I was waiting to hear what the folks who were at the TFA meeting thought of Haslam Monday night. I couldn't go so I wanted to see if they felt good about him.
-
I took a job and requested Tuesday nights off so that I could attend these meetings. I hate that I had to miss last month and now this month because of the change in schedule to accommodate the two candidates. I would like to encourage everyone to attend this and ALL TFA meetings. They are well worth your time. See you next month.

Scott DesJarlais don't need no stinkin' bullets
Volzfan replied to Glenn's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I want a no party system. Let everyone run on his or her own merits. Not voters who vote Dem or Rep just because you dad, his dad and so on has always voted one way or the other. There are a lot of those around the country. -

The sad things is that most people didn't catch that and probably see him as the next mass murdering psychopath. -
5th district - Cooper vs. Hall: Thoughts?
Volzfan replied to shortround's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I'm hoping that Hall will have a bunch of commercials here in the last couple of weeks before the election. I'm guessing that he is conserving his money to a time that it will have the most impact. If he comes with the dirt late it doesn't give Cooper a good chance to respond and voters memories are pretty short. VOTE DAVID HALL!!! -

It looks more like molasses than it does honey.
-
Yes it is still liquid but there was some crystallized at the top when I opened it. I heated it and as you said it returned to a liquid. The honey is very dark, much darker than I have seen before. I have some store bought honey and it's very light colored. I don't know if it is caused by the type of flowers that it came from or if the age caused it to darken.
-
I have been cleaning out some of the things in my Mom and Dad's house that they are not using and probably will never use. In doing so I came across a jar of honey that was from a friend of theirs who kept bees and sold honey in Mt. Juliet. He has been dead for quite a while. This jar of honey could easily be 25 years old. Can anyone tell me if it is still good? I've heard that honey doesn't spoil.

5th district - Cooper vs. Hall: Thoughts?
Volzfan replied to shortround's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I agree! I don't know much about Mr Hall but I do know Cooper. Cooper's record speaks for itself so Cooper will never get my vote and whoever is running against him will. Cooper is a Pelosi Puppet and if they are not voted out they will certainly bring the US to her knees. I sure hope that Cooper goes down in flames in this election. -
TN permit holders vs those who actually carry
Volzfan replied to Erik88's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I carry every day where ever I can legally carry. I also don't frequent places that make me think that I would need my gun in order to make it safely home. I don't remember that I have ever felt that I was in peril since I began to carry and its not because the gun has made me feel that I'm invincible. I understand that just because I carry doesn't guarantee anything. I may not survive an encounter where the gun is going to be necessary but I sure like my chances with it as opposed to being without it. The main reason that I got my HCP and carry every single day is that my wife and I came home on a Saturday night at 8pm and there were 2 guys in our house. They had found a S&W 357 but instead of facing us, thankfully, they choose to go back out the window that they came in as we were coming in. Anyone that has ever been in that situation will know that you don't just go back to normal when everything has been cleaned up and you have the insurance check in hand. It's been close to 4 years and I still think about it every time I come home and I always go in before my wife even though we have an awesome alarm system. I too am amazed that people get their permit but yet still have no desire to ever carry the gun. -
No one making the same arguments for keeping guns out of their business addresses the guns that are the problem and those are the ones that are in the hands of the criminals who don't give a hoot about what sign is on the door. All they are doing is turning away law abiding citizens. Granted, there will be a very small fraction of HCP holders that cause a problem but by posting these signs just what have they accomplished. They have deceived the sheeple into feeling like they are safe while losing us as customers.

Mike McWherter at Nashville TFA Meeting 9/20/10
Volzfan replied to Worriedman's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I don't want to vote for either of these morons. -
He could have lied about the neighbor sending him. They sometime lie, you know. He was going door to door so he would have probably stopped even if your neighbor had not been home. Are there kids bikes or toys where he could have seen them and figured out on his own that you have children? It sounds like the neighbor offered up a lot of his personal info that I sure would not do.

Amen to that!
