  1. Welcome to TGO!
  2. Hi Mike Welcome to TGO. I'm also in S. Nash David
  3. Sorry to hear that. I've got a contact for my alarm system on my garage door so that I can look at my keypad in the kitchen and know that the door is down. My alarm will not set if it is open. You may want to check into that if you have an alarm.
  4. My feelings exactly!!!

    Help!!

Yes we all do DUMB stuff. I hope that you can wipe the slate clean and not have something like that hinder you all of your life. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.
  6. Ive had mine for a little more than a year. I got mine in about 3-4 weeks after getting fingerprinted. A friend that had taken the class with me @ G&L submitted his ap about 1 month later than I did and he waited nearly the full 90 days til he has his permit in hand. Patience is a virtue!
  7. I took my class at Guns & Leather. Both men and women were in the class and it was a basic class to get you your permit. From what I have read most classes for your permit are basic stuff designed to get that permit. The reason that I choose G&L is price. They were only $55 then and today they are still only $60 (I looked at their web site yesterday). Others are $100 and up. Once she gets her HCP you can look for other places like AAPS for more in depth training. I went to G&L with a friend who had his girlfriend with him who had not shot before and Dennis spent 10 or 15 minutes on the range with her. G&L really knows customer service!
  8. I went to the Goodman show and it seemed to be more of an accessory show than guns. The tables were all full but I think that they had some people spread out so that you didn't think that there were less vendors. I was very dissappointed as was a friend that went with me. His words, "This is a ripoff." I also heard the the Pope show was also a big letdown. I had considered going there tomorrow but that will not happen now.
  9. I'm so sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you. It's hard not to be sad for the time together that is now lost but rejoice for the time that you did have together. May God be with you till you meet again.
  10. Terry Tate for President!
  11. You are right! This party system is trash! Partisan politics is killing us. Do away with it and make everyone Independants. The pressure that the parties put on their members to follow party lines are ridiculous. It doesn't matter if a particular adgenda is good or bad, elected officials are expected to follow the party regardless. I would let anyone who wanted to be Prez run as long as they met the current requirements. If there are 50 then that is fine. All states then have a primary on the same day. Top 4 then go at it for 2 months. Then another primary after 2 months cutting down to the top 2. Then the Nov. General election that gives us our President! As long as our current primary process is now there would be plenty of time for this. I consider myself am Independent but I find myself voting Republican more often than not, especially in national elections. I am VERY dissappointed in the American people this year. There is no way that these current candidates are the best that America has! Give me a break! They both make me sick but I have to choose and I will vote! I hope that the American people will do their homework and make an informed decision on who they will vote for. I hope that people will not vote for Obama ONLY because they hate W but because they really believe that he is the absolute BEST person for the job. Don't vote for McCain because your family has been Republicans for generations. Vote for him because you think that he is the best man for the job. At least vote for the lesser of two evils. I don't believe that either is the BEST man for the job but one of them will be our next President.
  12. I have a neighbor who is a dealer and he chose the Goodman show to set up at so I'll probably go there to see what he has new. Then again I may wind up going to both. Deals aren't what they used to be but there is always enough there to get my attention.
  13. Welcome! Love the store!

    Keltec P-11

Yes I have one and mine does the same thing with hollow points but I've not had any other problems with it. I am looking to trade it for a Sig 229 40 cal and then I won't have to worry about the thing. If you can't trust it, you don't want it!

    Revolvers?

I love shooting both! I have a S&W 357 mag., model 686 w/4 inch barrel and also a Ruger P-94 40 cal. and I can't get enough of either. Never a problem with the Ruger as far as jams but a revolver may misfire but just squeeze it again and it comes to life. I guess when it comes down to your life or a loved one's life you can always count on a revolver!
  16. Hello TGO, I just ran accross your site and it looks like a good place to hang out. My name is David and I have lived in Nashville all of my life. I've had my carry permit a little more than a year and go to Greenbrier to do most of my shooting @ a place called Guns & Leather. Great people there. I just don't get to go often enough. I currently carry a Kel-Tec P-11 9mm and also have a Ruger P-944TH 40 cal. and a S&W 686 357 Mag. . I am looking for a good small 40 cal. to carry so if anyone has any recommendations I would love to hear what you think. I am leaning towards a Sig 229. Glad to join your group. David
