I'm with you on going to a mall. No good reason for it. The closest mall to me is Hickory Hollow in Antioch. It's one of the best places in town to have your car stolen. Plus it has incorrect signs restricting guns. Not worth challenging. I would much rather shop the internet. Uses less gas too.

Does anyone know if you must renew in the county where you live?

The sign as written is not legal. If you are stopped by their security, all that they can do is to ask you leave. Once they do that then you must leave or you will then be trespassing. I believe that I am correct but I am sure that if not someone here will be able to correct me.

I guess that the odds of something happening that brings the cops to my door concerning that gun are slim. That's the first gun that I haven't traded so I guess that I'll just forget about getting a bill of sale next time. It sounds like it doesn't really matter anyway. Thanks for the advise.

Congrats on your purchase. I sure hope that you like it. I am getting an XD 40 next week. Springfield has some sort of sale that has just started and my dealer is ordering his on Monday so I should have mine by Wed. 7/23 . Too bad I can't get it before the shoot on Sat. Can anyone give me any thoughts on what sights I should get?

I have thought that it is wise to get the name, address, DL# and buyers signature and keep it as a way to CYA in case something ever happens and that gun was involved.

I was just concerned that if the gun was used in a crime that I may have a hard time proving that I had sold the gun. I have traded guns with dealers before but this was the first sale to an individual. I'll definately be more careful next time with the receipt.

I sold a Taurus pistol @ the gun show Saturday to an individual. I filled out the sale document with all of the man's info like I am supposed to do. I had the paper in my back pocket and the jeans got washed before I knew that my wife had picked them up. I don't normally have anything other than a wallet in my back pocket so she didn't find the paper. Now what? Anyone have any thoughts on the situation? What should I do?

I, too have been looking at the XD subcompact but did not like the feel with the standard mag and because the extended mag made it the same size as the compact except for the 1" difference in barrel length I choose the XD 40 Compact. I am expecting it to come in Wednesday. I can't wait to get my grubby hands on it and put a couple hundred rounds through it. I am still hoping to get to TGO shoot on Saturday.

Concerning the sentence above in bold, If a permit holders permit has not expired then why should they have to carry the receipt with them? Wouldn't the actual permit be all that is required? Does it mean that if you renew before your permit expires then you may still legally carry after the expiration date of the permit with the receipt? I am not up for renewal yet but have been reading here about all of the delays and when I am ready to renew I want to know what to do and when.

I have an HCP so this question is not for me but for my cousin. I was never sure about it before I got my permit so here it is. If I am driving a car, the gun and ammo can't both be in the same area and I am under the assumption that the gun can't be anywhere in the drivers compartment and the ammo in the glove compartment or the other way around. Either the gun or the ammo has to be in the trunk. Is that correct? How about both in the trunk? What about a truck where there is no way to secure one or the other in the bed of the truck?

Owner/drivers almost never have the success that they have as only a driver. Even Dale Earnhardt was smart enough to not be a driver for his own team. He stayed with RCR. DW had very limited success as owner/driver. Ricky Rudd, Geoff Bodine, Robby Gordon, Mike Waltrip. Alan Kulwicki had the best run as an owner/driver than anyone when he won a championship in 1992. We will have to wait to see how well Tony does but I am afraid that his best days as a driver will be behind him once he leaves Gibbs.

If that would have been anyone else they would have been arrested by the Secret Service for threatening a presidential candidate.

I just think that Joe Gibbs is having a positive effect on him. I agree with the comparison with DW. I don't know if Busch can win over the fans like DW was able to do but we will see. I also think that he is a little like Jeff Gordon was. Jeff burst on the scene and kicked everybodys butt and no one like him beating their driver so they hated Gordon.
