NASCAR probably has some dumbass rule that if they don't cal past champions Sprint Cup Champs that they get fined. Remember this is another one of those "Their game, their ball and their rules" I would not be suprised to see Bruton Smith try to start his own series with all of his tracks and all of the tracks around, like Nashville's (sorry, Gladeville's) track, they could get a new series off of the ground and leave NASCAR in a big hurt. One of the bigest problems would be to get enough sponsors to go along with it. In today's economy, that may be too large of a hurdle to overcome. Either way, NASCAR better wake up and address the fans side of the sport and not just try to figure out how to put more money into their own pockets.

For anyone who has heard of Randy Pausch you know his story and that he passed away on July 25th. His "Last Lecture" was an amazing thing to watch. How he approaches his final days are a real inspiration. This video on youtube is 1 hour and 16 minutes. If you can find the time to watch it you will not be disappointed. I pray that none of us have to deal with this anytime soon but if we do maybe we can learn something from Randy. [ame] [/ame]You really should try to find the time to watch this video! WELL WORTH IT!!!

LMAO He is a hell of a speaker when he has a speech written out for him to read but when you get him in a situation where he has to think on his own and that is an example of what happens. There are quite a number of clips like this one. He must have gone to the George W. Speechin School!

NASCAR is all about selling products whether it is Sprint with the series sponsorship or race sponsorships or team sponsorships. How many tires do you think Goodyear is selling this morning and will sell this week? I am glad I was not there for that mess!!!

I just got back from the Smyrna show and there were wall to wall people. It was hard to find a parking space. Probably more people than I have ever seen at a show in Nashville area. I tried to deal on a Sig 229 but we couldn't come to terms so it is still there. Even went to lunch and came back and he still wouldn't budge. Oh well, I'll get one from someone else. It was fun and worth the $9 entry to me even though I came away empty handed.

I dropped my 2 apps at the post office this morning on the way to the gun show. Does anyone with this license get a discount on ammo anywhere. My cousin talked with a guy from Lawrenceburg, TN that told him he got a big discount on ammo somewhere but I don't know where that is. I hope that he can find that out or that one of you guys can tell me.

Any gun show is just a Flea Market for guns, gun parts, ammo and accessories. Oh, and knives. There are not usually very many great deals but you may find some. It is a good place to get your hands on a lot of different guns and start yourself a wish list. If the show that you are going to is an R.K. show then print the coupon above. It will be good at any of their shows.

Doesn't really prove anything but that the statement that people were trying to make 4 years ago went for nothing then and it will go for nothing now. Third parties can't be silent for 4 years and expect to win enough votes. A third party should begin their campaign on the day after the new president is sworn in and try to stay in the news. The only way that I can see 3rd parties becoming a force in national elections is to really go strong after state congressional seats and build from that state level. Then , once they get around 20% of those seats in DC then they should be able to be successful in national elections and not until. I would love to vote for someone other than the front 2 but I don't want to take the chance of letting Obama in the White House so I will vote for McCain, unless he picks Charles Manson as his VP. There is too much at stake to try to make a statement in this election. That's my and it's not really worth that much to some people.
-
For all of you who say that they can't vote for Mccain OR Obama and have to vote their conscience or that you are fed up and want to make a statement to the jerks in DC. Ready? Don't cheat and look up the answer! Name the candidate that came in 3rd in the last presidential election!

When mailing it to the Nashville Chief of Police, Do I need to actually put Chief Serpas's name on the envelope or just Metro Nashville Police Department? Should I put on the envelope that it is a Curio & Relic FFL application?
-
WOW!!! I requested my application for a C&R FFL on Sunday and got the app. in the mail on Friday. I can't believe that a government department did anything that fast.
-
I was 8-2 McCain and 3-7 BO. 10 issues are not near enough on something like this. It need s to be at least 25 to 40 to really get an idea.

I blame W for a lot of what is going on now but on the other hand there has been a dem controled congress for 2 years and they have done absolutely nothing but complain about everything.

This is a part of a previous post I made on another thread. Nobama is nothing but windowdressing. He is like a Hollywood film set. Once you walk thru the door there is nothing there! His changes are changes for the worst. Don't be decieved! He has done nothing of any substance while in the Senate and nothing before that either. BO is for more entitlements for those who don't want to work which equals MORE TAXES to pay for them. BO is for socialized healthcare which equals MORE TAXES. BO is for more gun control. Look where he is from. Chicago. BO is against drilling here in the USA and offshorewhich equals continued dependance on foreign countries that hate us. BO is for abortion and partiale birth abortion which is murder. BO is for amnesty for illegal immigrants. They are already costing us trillions of dollars. BO wants to create another branch of the military to guard the mainland USA which will mean MORE TAXES. BO may have the opportunity to appoint 2-3 Supreme Court Justices and that could easily swing the scales on gun control Putting it mildly, BO STINKS! I am more worried about how BO is going to pay for all of the "Changes" that he is proposing for Americans. Don't get me wrong, I am not that thrilled with John McCain but he is really the only choice. I have also posted that I believe that anyone who is going to cast their vote for a 3rd party candidate is giving Bo a better chance of winning. A 3rd party will not/cannot win even though they may be the best person for the job. Every vote that goes for 3rd party is one vote less that BO needs to defeat McCain. It is a shame that we, as a country, could not come up with any better candidates to run for president but these are the two with the best chance at winning and neither is a great choice but BO is, by far, the worst choice of the two!

Video - Obama's anti-gun voting record
Volzfan replied to TGO David's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Do you think that those clowns in DC don't know that we are fed up with their crap? Sure they know it but we, as a country, keep putting these guys back in. Fact is they don't really care what we think. Look at how they vote. They vote for what they think is best for us, usually along party lines which makes their vote for what the "Party" thinks is best for us. We are to dumb, in their eyes, to know what is best for us. All of the elected officials should be voting for what their constituents want but that is not how it works. Once those elected officials get past the city councilman rank then they get pressure from "The Party". As far as a 3rd party choice, when Ross Perot ran, I really liked what he was saying as did a whole lot of people around the country. His problem as well as any 3rd party candidate, would be that he would have NO support from congress at all. The president is limited at what he can do even when he has some support in congress from his party. Unfortunately I believe that we are stuck with Dems or Rep. until the party system is completely thrown out and everyone runs on his own merits. John McCain is not the answer but he is going to have to do no matter who his running mate is. Hopefully he will choose someone that can sway a lot of the voters to his side. Don't drink the Obama -

Anyone who is going to throw away their vote because they are not sold on McCain are truly voting for Obama! If You guys believe that we need to do all that we can to defeat this douchebag then you MUST cast your vote for McCain. He is the only one who has a chance to beat Obama!! It is that simple. A vote for a third party is one less that Obama needs to put his butt in the White House. I consider myself an independent voter and I believe that there are better candidates for president but none of them are strong enough to beat Obama. To me it is vital that we not allow him to win this election. There is too much at stake to risk letting him in. I am not willing to take that chance with my vote. The video on this thread should be enough to convince all of you gun owners what we have to do! PLEASE think and pray about what you are going to do. WE CANNOT ALLOW OBAMA TO WIN!!! -

When I do it at about 30 or so (I have looked) I don't need to do all of that!

At least don't shoot him until after he has signed your certificate. I took my class @ Guns & Leather on Superbowl Sunday in 2007. I was too excited about getting my permit to realize that the class was a little boring. Sure, there was a lot of info that everyone knew but I still enjoyed my time there. You probably will too.
