I do agree that the longer this bill is still not passed then the longer it's open for potential problems. The Senate has been strong for this bill and I hope it remains that way. If we were waiting for the House then I would really be sweatin it. I still worry and if it had been passed weeks ago with the limits on it I would be happy because I am never in beer serving restaurants after 11pm anyway. I also agree that we are not the only ones that are calling and sending emails. We need to keep that up until the fat lady is singing!

Sen. Jackson has been a real asset to us and blasting him is not the right thing to do. I don't know why it wasn't brought up but he will get it done. I guess we wait till Thursday.

That is a point that I feel is very important that we don't screw up by saying that there is nothing wrong with having just one with dinner and getting into trouble.I don't understand why the owners of these establishments are comparing this issue to driving drink. They don't give a d*** about overserving a customer as long as they pay the tab. If they really cared about all of the people that are killed by drunk drivers they would set up breathalyzers at the door and refuse to allow them in their cars if they are legally drunk. And there is the difference. The law allows people driving and drinking and allowing up to .08 alcohol level but the law doesn't allow carrying and drinking at all.

I'm very sure that there are a large number of us who could have a drink with dinner and not cause a problem. I'm just worried that the news media may be out to prove that we are not following the letter of the law and show many HCP holders drinking in restaurants. I'll bet that news departments all over are copying the HCP list now and may check randomly for guys to follow. I just think that everyone needs to be VERY careful not to be caught. We are at the doorstep of winning a very long, hard fought battle and don't want to see that jeopardized by those that can't refrain from having just one.

Doesn't the law completely prohibit any consumption of alcohol? It sounds to me like we need the restraint to not even have one beer while carrying. That's all we need is for guys to start getting caught drinking while carrying. Can anyone clarify this?

It's nice to see at least one voted the wishes of the people. Emails and phone calls were the difference. I'm glad Naifeh wasn't successful with any last minute tricks.

I haven't seen much mention about emailing Bredesen. I know I have seen that he claims that he hasn't made up his mind on whether he will sign the bill. Won't this go into law without his signature? That is unless he vetos the bill. Then the legislature would have to override the veto. Correct? Should we be flooding him with emails too or wait until it is actually on his desk?

How long should the conference committee take to come up with final version? How quickly do you see it being voted on by both House and Senate? Will the Gov. sign it, veto or allow it to become law without his signature?
