  1. Not true. SAI used USGI parts until they ran out of stock. Seems like they ran out in the mid 90's. Before they ran out of GI parts even the standards came with GI parts. The SAI receivers are cast and not forged like some other M1A/M14S.
  2. Sounds like a preban to me.. My M1A was built in 1988 and is most all USGI parts if not all GI parts. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/show-tell/22958-gonna-fun-one.html I really like the M1A. I think that you will be happy witht he one that you have on layaway...if not sell t to me cheap M-14 Firing Line Public Forum - Powered by vBulletin Is a great site for the M1A. Post pics when you get it home.
  3. I collect M1 Garand's. if I am looking at one from an private seller I will often ask to take it out of the stock. Not a full field strip but I do need to see the receiver markings and other internal parts markings. Most people do not mind and want to know more about the rifle ...even if I do not buy it. I have yet to have anyone say no... On other firearms ... I give it the best once over that I can and go from there.

Thanks I will get'um up tonight. I had to work yesterday from 5am -6pm
  5. Thanks to Eric (TGO member) for giving me a heads up on a .308 bolt gun that was for sale. I wanted to get something with a heavy barrel to set up for a MOA/Sub-MOA rifle. I dont have pics of the rifle yet. I will post some after work today. Remington 700 PSS (Police Sniper Special) built 8/1989 came from the factory with: Parkerized finish 24-inch Barrel Super nice trigger H.S. Precision kevlar and fiberglass-reinforced synthetic stock with a full-length, aluminum bedding block. It had on it: Leupold 16x scope, Redfield base, Rings ?? I had a harris bipod in the truck for my M1A so I put it on the 700 at the range. I bought this Sat and was able to fire 10 shots with Federal 168 Match ammo. Last 5-shot group @ 100-yards after a few clicks on the scope. .532 group Crappy cell phone pic

    Gun Insurance

Call your current insurance agent/company. He/She should be able to work out a rate per $1,000 or per $10,000 of coverage. They will need the information for each item covered (e.g. brand, model, serial number). The company may request an appraisal of all firearms or perhaps just the "high valued" items. Take detailed photo's just incase you need to file a claim. Your company will issue a shceduled endorsement to your "contents/personal property" that will cover the items that you have on the list. Make sure that you notify them of any additions or deletions as needed. If you fail to add a new firearm to the list it may not be a covered loss.
  22. look'n good.. How did the .40 round work out LOL
  23. Maybe they wanted to verify that she could fire it ...and not just point it at someone. The HCP showed them that she had recived "training" and that she had shot it enough to qualify for the HCP.
