1. I should not read this site when I just wake up... I read your post as, "Who cares? Type British backwards" and spent a minute or two trying to figure out what hsitirb meant. :-). Anywho, I finally realizes I must have read it wrong. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
2. A buddy of mine has the 1-4x primary arms scope. Glass is decent and it seems to have true 1x. However, it is a 2nd focal plane reticle and, to me, that seems to somewhat defeat the purpose of the 1x zoom. But then again, I like the idea of using as a red dot at 1x and then zooming in with either mils or BDC marks for distance shooting. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
3. I have 2 AR 15s and on MP 15-22. I liked the 45 degree offset sites I got off of amazon for under $25 that I bought and put one one of my ar15s that got a second pair for my MP 15-22. I definitely like them. I can see a lot of advantage using an ACOG with the offset iron sites. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
4. If acog is what you know and trust yourself with, then I say stick with it. For me, I would take take the 1-4x scope, but I like the flexibility of having a near red dot optic that can be used with magnification for some distance. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
5.
"....in Nazi style, he's gathering up papers... " Actually I think he's doing his job in collecting ID's "to run". Everyone says "they are committing no crime". I guess the officer had no idea if any of those armed folks were felons or not. Running ID was the only way to find out. Folks, if we don't want to go through this stuff, CONCEAL it! Except those idiots walking around cop fishing with a gun and video camera. The cop could have done a little better, but I suppose that's his personality. This crap is getting out of hand! I'll speak for myself. I don't want some jerk with a video camera try to represent me and my rights! DaveS
did the officer have any reason to. Think they would be felons? I do not believe an officer has a right to just run a check on anybody they please unless they have a reasonable suspicion that a crime has been committed. (not including Nashville where OC is illegal and a valid HCP is a defense) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
6. Thank you for posting your experience. I will cross them off my list of manufacturers to buy from. I do most of my shopping with PSA any more anyways. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
7. Dunno where he got his aim point from but you can get an aim point and aluminum flip up sites from PSA right now for $409. http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/featured/aimpoint-patrol-rifle-optic-pro-andpsa-aluminum-flip-up-front-and-rear-sight-set.html Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

9. This. I have troubleshoot bad bullet placement a lot with a few different guns over the last year or so and have learned that 9 out of 10 times it's one of three things. First most common for me has been poor rings on my scope or not having them fully tightened down. If there is just a little bit of wiggle, (very little) that can have a few MOA or more effect on bullet placement. Second, barrel touching the stock or anything else. A poor stock with the resting of the gun near the front end of the stock will cause point of impact to change, usually on the vertical, but sometimes on the horizontal plane. Move you're support up as close as you can to the trigger guard to minimize this effect. It may be that your stock is bending and touching the barrel. As you get frustrated, your groups will open up even more, usually due to muscles pulling heavier on the gun and causing more surface contact with the barrel. Third, heat. Less of an issue with bolt action, but as you shoot more, the head can cause the barrel to bend ever so slightly in one direction causing your point of impact to drift. Usually, unless your bullets are not spinning properly, if a bullet is stable at 100 yards, it will likely stay stable at 200 or 300. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

11. Things weren't exactly peachy after the slaves were finally granted their god given rights to freedom. If they were treated anywhere close to equals, then we wouldn't be in the mess we are in. Instead, for the next 100+ years they were attacked, oppressed, insulted and made to feel less than human. This wasn't just in the South, though that was where it was predominantly. This was also in California, New York, Chicago and Detroit. Police profiling, brutality and oppression, while the general white population turned a blind eye to what being done to their neighbors, finally brought the black youth to a breaking point and two of the most infamous gangs arose and swept across the nation. If white folk would have had the common decency to treat them as human being, instead of as a problem they just wished would just go away, we would likely not be in this mess. But, instead, we, as a nation, enslaved them again through the formation of welfare, taking away pride and replacing it with entitlement. We, as a nation, are only eating of the fruits of our labors. The sins of our fathers upon our heads for generations. As to a coming race war? I think a class war is far more likely. Look at the disparity of wealth in the nation. I argue that you should be able to keep what you earn, but after 2008, I have since learned that way to many of our ultra wealthy are keeping why others earned, not what they have earned and are doing it at the cost of our nation. Through the derivatives market, the bankers stole the wealth of the USA and much of the world. There will be a reckoning, it's just a matter of how bad things will get before the peasants rise up against their masters (eg. French Revolution). Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
12. Well, you might find a better deal, but not consistently. http://www.slickguns.com/product/aimpoint-pro-380-free-shipping-use-code-slickpro-only-50-available-price Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
13. Ed needs to be shopping for lawyers. Seriously. If he patented that reticle and produced a product using his own reticle, he has a pretty open and shut case. Many patent lawyers would see this as a windfall case where the prospects of the creator and the lawyer to make a lot of money is HUGE. All he has to do is win one case and file suit against the rest and they will be clambering at the bit to settle. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
14. http://www.kygunco.com/ruger-sr-762-autoloading-308-win762-nato-rifle-1612in-20-round-black-71079 Looks like kygunco has them now, and set their price point at $1600. Seems like a deal to me, though, I think I would prefer a Sig 716. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
15. Also, according to guns n ammo, the military was evaluating switching to vcog from acog and red dots for the reason of having one optic that can dual role. I think the sequester has hampered further evaluation, but I could be mis-remembering. http://www.gunsandammo.com/2013/10/21/trijicon-vcog-review/ Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
16. http://swfa.com/Bushnell-1-4x24-AR-Optics-30mm-Rifle-Scope-P61352.aspx It has illumination, if needed. It is a first focal plane reticle, so when you zoom it out, it is just a red horse shoe dot and you can use it like a red dot with both eyes open. Zoomed in to 4x, you have a reticle that can be used to help estimate the range of a man sized target with bullet drop compensation (if you are using 55gr or 62gr 5.56). Downside is that it still has eye relief so it's not as forgiving on head position as your standard red dot. I also recommend 45 degree offset sights as your backup iron sights so you don't have to worry about flip up and cowitness. If the time ever comes that you have to jump from optic to something more suited for cqb, then just rotate your gun slightly and use the irons. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

18. I am bummed, as I was unable to attend. Instead of shooting with y'all, I got to take my two oldest to Comicon. That was $200 down the drain. Good times with the kids and all. They enjoyed themselves, but I could have bought a fair amount of ammo for that same amount of money :-) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
19. Show me your papers... Unless you have giving reasonable cause to be questioned, an officer shouldn't even be asking. In TN, as others have stated, OC is illegal and the permit is the defense. Downside is, if you are CC, even of the officer has no reasonable suspicion, if he asks, and you have an HCP, based on the way the statute reads, you have to show him it. A citizen without an HCP and not carrying would not have to show ID, unless the officer has a reasonable suspicion. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
20. . Thx for this. I taught a Sunday school lesson on self reliance and this fit in perfect! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
21. Seriously, patent that little contraption. It would be one of the smallest bit based screwdrivers on the market. Make it into a keychain or something. Good idea there. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
22.
You don't want children going hungry tonight because of stupidity.
. 23.
I get much better accuracy out of my bolt action .223's than I do with my AR's.I bought a new Remington SPS .223 a few years back, best I could get it to do was a little over 2" at 100 yards.I called Remington and they said that a 2" group was within their standards.I even sent it back to them for them to check out.I never could get it to shoot under 2", tried a lot of different loads.I went to Savage rifles after that.
Wow. I would be pissed if that was the best I could get from my bolt. My Sig M400 AR15 with hand loads and a non-free floated upper will do 1.25 moa fairly consistently if I do my part. My PSA SHQ with SS barrel would reliably do .80 MOA with 5 rounds through a cool barrel. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
24. yep. They are both surplus powders. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
25. I use AR Comp and blc2 right now. There are a lot of varget, h335 and RL15. As to your question on accuracy. 55gr FMJ, I am satisfied if I stay consistently under 2 moa but I dont expect it with either my sig m400 or my frankengun with a PSA stainless match grade barrel. However, if you are talking vmax rounds in 55gr, 1.25 moa is decent but sub moa is good. My ss barrel can soot in the .8 moa range pretty consistently with vmax and hpbt rounds.
