1. but carrying it with you in a bug-out situation is a different story.

I think it really comes down to the scenario/source of SHTF. If you can see the threat, coming before it hits, you have time to grab a couple different weapons and cans of ammo. What you can carry will become your most plentiful source of ammo, because everybody will become ammo hoarders in about 2 seconds flat. So small, lighter weight and packing a punch will mean you are able to carry more, more effectively. .223 would probably become my round of choice, with .22lr as a backup. If you need to be mobile, .308 is larger, and heavier, reducing the amount you can carry.

  2. Decent SHTF guns: Keltec SU16B. It's .223 but folds in half for portability and takes STANAG mags. $500 Keltec Sub2000 in .40sw has the same energy at 50 yards as a .357 at its muzzle. $400 AR-15 you assemble using PSA kits on special. This can be completed for under $600 with the right parts. HiPoint 4095(,40sw) or 4595(.45) both can be found for under $300 Mosin Nagant in the Arch Angel stock accepts 5 and 10 round magazines. SKS, $350 price range You might be able to find an AK in the $500 price range if you hunt online. I don't know much about the MVP. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Not really sure who makes the Crome lined barrel on this one but the price is really good for a complete upper in FDE

  5. Want to get a youngster interested in the shooting sports? Get a decent air rifle, and make some "reactive' targets. Beats shooting paper all to pieces for keeping up interest. Grandkids helped build them and have worn them out shooting over the years.

  6. I guess we will see how this actually plays out in the SCOTUS because, if discretionary powers were already allocated to funds provided through EPA, while I may not agree, I am not sure how much of a change this is beyond setting a clear direction for how that discretion shall be applied. If, however, this is a clear expansion of EPAs powers beyond what has been legally granted, I am not sure if this is much of a change beyond direction setting.

  7. So when did the President gain the powers to block funding in individual items in a Bill? Ill give you the answer. Never.

All I can find, so far, is wild speculation and sky falling alarmism around this executive order without a single example of how this EO could impact funds allocated in bills to states, unless those funds are already distributed through FEMA or the EPA. Both of which, already act under the direction of the Executive Branch.

If anybody has any links to articles that show how this EO over reaches powers already granted to the President, please share, because that would do far more to adding to the debate than what I am seeing.

  8.
You know that. I know that, but how many in the middle will allow that? Millions. Anyway, he already has absolute control over the entity known as the EPA being the President.
I guess what I am saying is that I don't see him exerting any authority he didn't already have with this. This EO is just him providing clear, public direction to the EPA. There are many things Obama has done that I think may be impeachable over, and most of those have been made public via Snowden's leaks. This isn't one of them. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  9. I believe you have a good list.

    I would reorder it.

First the one that pulled the trigger.
Then the Vendor that was involved, then Promoter, and maybe the ones that checked at the door to see if loaded.

Only if the one that pulled the trigger has money. Otherwise they will be further down the list.

  10. I watch http://gun-deals.com/ and http://www.slickguns.com/today for deals with 22lr. Since my kids love shooting my 22lr pistol and rifle, when we go to the range they can easily go through 300-500 rounds. As a result, I continued to buy up till I had about 3000 rounds (6-8 range trips) sitting around. Every now and then Midway USA or some other site will have boxes of 300+ rounds for sale with a limit of 3-5 boxes making the shipping costs reasonable.
