5. I had about 5 more uppers listed but my client messed up. Just go to slickguns.com and search for complete upper. Be willing to go back a few months and you will find some good deals. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 2
6. Here are some uppers you can put on a PSA blemish complete lower for a very solid rifle. I have used the blemished stuff and it can be down right difficult to find the blemishes and they are only cosmetic. The complete lower: http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/featured/psa-ar-15-complete-blem-lower-magpul-moe-edition-black-no-magazine.html Complete uppers for under $500 http://www.surplusammo.com/saa-complete-16-1-8-mid-length-dragons-head-hbar-ar-15-upper-receiver-with-nickel-boron-carrier-5-56/. Nickel boron bolt carrier group. Requires less lubrication. Also 1-8 twist will stabilize nearly any weight/length .223 or 5.56 round you put down the barrel, up to 77gr. http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/a3-16-free-float-upper.aspx

8. I am an active LDS member and remember seeing that in the theaters. Star trek 4. I was rolling with laughter with that. Every Mormon I know enjoyed that scene. No offense taken :-). Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 2
9. I believe they are called Home Storage Centers and they offer really good prices on bulk food. I have a goal to build at least 3 months of food storage next year, and will likely be hitting up their center in Hendersonville in January. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

The "Get Home" Gun

As you stated, LA riots is one possibility. I live in Nashville and wonder what it might be like if I was caught somewhere and one of the dams failed or ruptured due to earthquake. Any scenario that forces you to travel on foot where people might become angry or desperate might warrant some increased firepower. It won't likely be bands of roving marauders, but it might be that one armed thug/looter that you see coming. Another unlikely but possible scenario could be a severe crackdown on our rights prompting martial law in an unjust fashion. The state/gov. could become your threat. I say, if you can afford it, prepare now for the unlikely and hope you never need it. Maybe your preparations end up being valuable for something you never expected. Here in the USA, it is unlikely, but necessary. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 2

The "Get Home" Gun

The scenario presented was a cataclysmic event. It is hard to determine if this means an immediate and complete breakdown of law and order. If I were putting together a bug home bag, I would want something that would be effective in a complete collapse of law and order event, but still viable and legal in only a partial or diminished law and order event. Especially if one is traveling some distance on foot where you may be leaving the worst of it but having to pass through barricaded or checkpoint protected areas. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
12. so far, I am not that impressed with their prices. Regular price on PMC 223 bronze is 13.99 for a box of 20? Really? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

The "Get Home" Gun

For me, it is more about the legalities. SBR is still a rifle and still falls under the laws of how a rifle is governed in TN. If you are in a situation where you have pulled out just such a weapon to provide protection will leaving an area, if caught by police with a concealed and loaded SBR you may fine yourself in jail. AR pistol, on the other hand, is a different story. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

The "Get Home" Gun

Besides the obvious ethical issues, this could force you into contact with others in a dangerous situation. I would think one emergency pack of food, such as the MainStay bars would be simple and easy enough to keep in a bag and prevent you from needing to resort to desperate acts quite as quickly as it would otherwise. The "Get Home" Gun

I think a lot of reading into what I was saying was done. I am not talking about a long term survival plan, nor am I speaking of a complete economic collapse. I am talking about day 1 to 4 of an shtf situation and getting to a partially disabled spouse and getting out, assuming your vehicle isn't working. Day one, a pile of cash may still work. Gold will likely work well to get assistance. A week in, when food concerns are now realized, the situation is very different. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 2

The "Get Home" Gun
My choices would be either my AR or my Just Right Carbine. The JRC shares mags with my Glock. The AR does offer a little longer range. My concern in the scenario given is my wife. We live in Spring Hill, I work in Cool Springs, and she works in Brentwood. She has srage 4 arthritus in her right hip and needs a hip replacement. In this sscenario she would never make it home. Not sure what I would do. I could make it home what then?
I would think your plan needs to be two stage. First, you need to get to your wife with support for her condition. As a result, you should probably keep enough food/water for 3-4 days. I would also keep some bartering items, like maybe some gold or something sewn into the seams of your pack. Second is your plan to get out with her. You may need to barter for a ride out of town for you and your wife. You may also need to be willing to barter your home as a safe haven for somebody else and their family with the means to get you there but not a good plan for themselves. Maybe a spare firearm and some ammo that you can bear to part with. I don't know if this exists, but maybe a light weight, carbon fiber wheel chair that you can carry with you to your wife and then wheel her to a safer location while the two of you trek home. Also, don't forget medication and impromptu sheltering if it is needed. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

The "Get Home" Gun

Considering the legalities involved and the desire to keep the gun easily transportable, I may have to go with the AR pistol first. That keeps me legal, even after i have exited the most threatening areas but am still on foot and may be entering an area where order of law still exists but where LEOs might be a little jumpy and likely to arrest someone they see carrying a loaded rifle. I was planning on building my newest lower into one anyways, just figured it would take me 6+ months before it was ready. That will likely have to change. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

The "Get Home" Gun

Glock 22 and keltec sub2000 in the bag. G23 or 27 as ccw. 6 or more extra high capacity magazines. This will likely be my first setup. Eventually, I will have an AR Pistol in 300blk for this purpose with about 6 loaded magazines and a few ammo pouches to put on a belt in a bad situation that I need to hurry home through. 19. Black Monday is sort of an apocalypse is happening over a few month book where machines are breaking down. The remaining. Though a zombie-ish book, it seems well thought out and the author seems to have done some research around firearms. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
20. AR-15 SBR in 300 blk, w/suppressor so that you to not go about attracting all of the zombies, 22lr pistol or rifle w/ suppressor, and a g17 w/ suppressor. If they are more than a few hundred yards away, do you really want to be shooting at them anyways, that just risks more zombie attraction. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

24. Glad to hear a new stock fixed it for you. A buddy of mine has a howa he put a bipod on and his shot groups seemed erratic. I recommended he pull that off and sand bag it close to the trigger guard. He went from 2-4 inch groups, usually with a lot of vertical spread, to just over 1 inch groups with standard fmj 150gr ammo. I am curious if your old stock just needed a little work to get it to fully free float or if it was just to weak to hold the barrel up off of it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
