The big question - concealed or open?
S&WForty replied to Pat's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Thanks for the comments. I browse with a smartphone 90% of the time. I had been meaning to search this topic (how I hijacked the original thread) when I was on a PC. Searching with tapatalk isn't as easy as a PC. I guess it is cut and dry. Deadly force begats deadly force. -
The big question - concealed or open?
S&WForty replied to Pat's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Is it that cut and dry, if someone armed robs you, you are automatically in "true" fear for your life, so you can shoot in the name of self/defense? I thought the law would still argue the shooter killed over property. If it is that cut and dry, happy shooting. -
Photography (of anything but people LOL). Any and all things Pontiac.

The big question - concealed or open?

Are there situations where OC will cause a thug to go the other way? Yes. Is there the potential for a thug to sneak up behind you and grab your OC pistol? Yes. Some criminals are that stupid. Some are that brazen. If I could know for a fact I had an invisible bubble that would prevent someone from sneaking up on me from the backside, I would be very tempted to OC more than the rare occasion. Being a city slicker, the only time I OC is when I am filling up at a gas station. I am on full alert looking around constantly, and if some thug thinks he wants my car to call his own, I hope that visible deterrent works. The way I understand TN law, if I am CCing my firearm and some one tries to carjack me, I better have some hard proof I was in fear of my life when I draw to protect mere personal property. I'm not going to shoot a person stealing my car and tap dance on the fine line of the law. ;( -
Poll - On your carry gun; Safety or no Safety?
S&WForty replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I refer you to post #10 above. It and #12 sum up my thoughts exactly. Perhaps some of us mixed up terms. I should have said accidental rather than negligent. -
I'm single, so I look around on PlentyofFish and OkCupid (free, unlike Match.com, and it shows). Nearly every time I look at a set of photos and think, "she's a skank ho," when I scroll down to children, the answer is Yes. Skank ho's looking for their next d*ck rather than raising their kids. Even on Match.com, the number of mothers that have a status of "Never Married" is scary. Love her or hate her, Ann Coulter has cited statistics in her column that show when all variables are considered, kids raised by mothers alone is the number one predictor of the kids becoming criminals. Once the home life is factored in, it wipes out any influence race has. I am blessed because when my dad left when I was 18 months old, my mom's only focus was me. She didn't leave me for a daycare to raise. She did without a lot to make sure she was home with me as much as possible. These tramps out their today turn my stomach.

Poll - On your carry gun; Safety or no Safety?
S&WForty replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
The wording asked what is preferred. I voted Yes as a guard against a ND. I wish my SW99s had a grip safety like the XD's. With that, I wouldn't feel the need for a regular safety. My pistols have just internal safeties like a Glock, so I'm just really careful about where my #1 finger is at all times. I wish I knew how common safety malfunctions really are. If I was shopping for an M&P, I'd be tempted to get one with a safety. If a 1911's SA trigger makes a safety a necessity that cocked and locked 1911 owners train/practice around, I don't see what is that so bad about a DA shooter doing the same if the safety's ergonomics is good. -
For the last several years, they should have put the Super Duty front end on a (shortened?) Expedition and call it Bronco. I think the Excursion frontend was then same or similar to the Super Duty trucks of that time. I always preferred its looks over the Excursion.

What's wrong with kids these days is the lack of real parents. Kids with correct home lives can be exposed to any number of "bad" things and still turn out just fine.

Best moderately priced weapon light??
S&WForty replied to maroonandwhite's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
In the For Sale section, there is a "G34 with Extras" including a TLR-1. Very nice photos are in the ad for reference. -
One more reason I could care less about new movies/etc.

Since they like video games so much, they should be told they can participate in a paintball challenge. If they win, they are free to go. Two seconds after the "game" starts, tell them the other team has real guns with real bullets. And "play" till the end...

Best moderately priced weapon light??

My TLR-1 is a bit wider than my SW99 slide which is pretty comparable to a G23. I know the body of the light is definitely wider than the rail. -
I've been in Detroit many times during the NHL playoffs when the Red Wings were dominant. That was my only experience seeing a hometown so energized by their team. Every business contact I met with just wanted to talk about the Red Wings.

What else does one expect from an administration run by a community agitator, uhhh, I mean community organizer? The bastahds that elected him in the first place should have these American's blood on them, too. The sick progressives that feel their socialist agenda is the only thing that matters in the world probably don't care about these lost lives one bit. Many of his ilk will come to resent those that lost their lives rather than mourn them.

I'll tune in for a game or two. I'm for Detroit. I don't follow baseball at any other time though.

What are the faults of Fox News? I hear them go out of their way to criticize Republicans just to counter the other networks' criticism of them being too far right. Chris Wallace holds back punches from no one.

Good grief. I never knew that. I only heard about other stuff being taken and how the staff left things filthy/damaged. And those posting the drapes and curtain remarks, if I wasn't puking I'd be laughing. Hehe.

Very interesting. I still have a newspaper page hanging in my cube at work that shows the Red vs Blue vote by county across the country from the 2000 election. It sure is an eye opener.

Can someone explain the "few W's?" W's and Hillary in the same dialogue makes me think White Water scandal. But I don't think that's what is being referenced. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

If TN goes Blue for Obama, we'll know why.
