  1. I have a numbers matching hex receiver I want to sell. you should have two, a numbers matching and a sporterized :)
  2. Yep, I know kris, he is a great guy.  I have a heavy barrel 308 that I just purchased a stockys knock off of the EH1 to install on it, I am going to try it myself.  If that install goes well, I may try the manners EH1 on my 300.  The more I research about it, the more I feel I can do it myself.
  3. Dolomite is the man for the job!
  4. HAHAHAHA.   By booster, do you mean the spring on the piston?
  5. I am having trouble with my glock 19 and 22 cycling with my octane 45, half of the time it doesn't return to battery.  I have to push the back of the slide with my thumb or push the trigger forward with my finger.  The guns are cleaned and lubed.  Any ideas?
  6. A lot of good info there, I wish we were closer for a lot of reasons. I think I will leave it up to someone who does it often and knows how to do it in their sleep lol  I see me getting goo all over a high $$ stock lol
  7. I am looking for a quality gunsmith in the Hendersonville/north Nashville area.  I am wanting to replace the stock on my custom rifle with a manners EH1.  Someone who has experience installing the pillars and bedding the action and doing the job right.  I was using MTG for all of my gunsmithing needs and had the utmost confidence in him, but he moved to WY.  If you know of, or have used one and have had a great experience with one, please let me know.  Thanks
  8. Can't go wrong with an octane 45 suppressor.  You can use your 3 lug, 1/2, 5/8, whatever you want to do.   They are a great pistol/ 300 sub can.
  9. Typically is 4-5 months, I have 3 items in jail right now, 1 filed oct 13 and the other 2 thursday.  I would bank on 8-12 months.  Yes, I'm one of the jerks that is helping to keep them busy :)
  10. Yep, it is addicting.  I said I would never do it, once I jumped on the boat it has been down hill from here.  7 items in 1  year, no looking back!
  11. File a form 1 with a pistol grip on it and than I will be able to add a stock on it later, correct? I wouldn't have to notify them that the OAL changed?
  12. Haha, I've never heard that before, now I know
  13. What is AFAIK, my google fu turned up nothing
  14. I guess I was throwing the term AOW out there without not really knowing what it was, I believe I understand now.  I think I'm going to look into some accessories for my 870 and cut her down.
  15. Can I do an SBS with a pistol grip(no stock) and it not be an AOW?  What makes it an AOW?
  16. I have a bad idea of turning my 870 into a SBS with a rear pistol grip and a pistol grip on the forearm clocked about 7:30-8:00 for my left hand to hold onto.  Is this an AOW that only takes a $5 stamp or do I need to SBS it first, than do a AOW stamp? Is it even AOW? lol  also, who might make a forearm like what I am wanting?
  17. I wonder why one agent says one thing and another says something different.  Could it be they are confused just as much as we are sometimes? lol
  18. It took me 4 hours of trying to get online with the atf to finally be able to file another form 1.  After the morning rush I got on and it only took 10 minutes or so to file.  Now the hard part, waiting.  Thankfully I already have an SBR and some suppressors to keep me warm at night.  major Kong, I asked that same thing to the ATF when I did my first SBR, he told me to send a letter into the atf with whatever configuration it maybe, that way you can change out uppers and be legal.  So, when I filed for my 300blk, I sent in a letter at the same time about the 223 upper.  Now I'm just making an sbr for the 223.
  19.  Elk are massive creatures, I have had a pack of cows be 10 or so feet from me when elk hunting.  Don't have any plans to make it a petting zoo! lol
  20. If I am going into the national park, is it legal to carry my handgun on me and a rifle in my truck?  I have heard that we are aloud to carry in parks but don't know if that extends into national parks? I would assume it does, because of bears and whatnot.
  21. Thanks, Lumber Jack!
  22. Yeah, the Hatfield Knob Elk viewing area.  They have a tower and a big food plot to bring them in.  It looks like it is an hour away or more from where we will be.
  23. Not quite hunting but elk related :pleased:   My wife and I will be in Gatlinburg for several days at the end of the month, we are thinking about going to an elk viewing area to try and see some elk.  Has anyone here ever gone? worth the drive and hike?  Is there one closer to Gatlinburg than others?
  24. I had a shot opportunity on one a few weeks ago, but the darn thing wouldn't stay still long enough to shoot it with my bow.
  25. I think the foxes look great, and they look real good mounted in the garage.  I have one red fox that I found on the side of the road that is mounted and in my garage.  Everybody always asks me if I shot it, I would like to have one in there that I can say I did shoot.  I would rather not set traps for a couple reasons, I do not live up there and couldn't check the traps as needed and I also don't want to kill animals I do not plan to do anything with, and you can't control what walks by a trap.
