  2. I have some stuff i can post up. i will take the 30 06 and 30 30 brass if it is still available.
  3. 2600 for a 4 day deer hunt...not bad, i don't know if there is a traphy fee or if that is with a lic. or not. did you get a deer everytime you went hunting there?
  4. I'm starting to plan my first big game hunt for fall of 2010! i'm very excited about going and want some input from you guys....I'm wanting to go on an elk hunt or a mule deer hunt. does anybody know of a good outfitter that is somewhat reasonable on the prices but is still a good place to go? i have found a couple places around 3000 but i'm just wanting to see if i can do it any cheaper than that. thanks for any and all help!
  5. yea...rub it in that you have an encore! lol well, the plug seems to go in quite well and i dont see anything wrong with the threads or sealing surfaces. i have tried the plug with nothing on the threads, than i tried it with anti-sieze on the threads; it still gets gunk back in the action and stops the bolt from coming forward when the trigger is pulled. wanna trade a black diamond for an encore? lol
  6. I have a Black Diamon BP rifle that takes the 209 primers. after the 5-6 shot there is so much gunk in the action that when I pull the trigger the bolt stays cocked back and doesnt fire the weapon. i clean the barrel everyother shot but it still happens. i have to take it apart and clean it, than 5 shots later it does the same thing. i called Thompson and they said to send it in and they will look at it. before i send it in, I thought i would ask the pros on TGO! any thoughts? I'm looking for a encore, should i just sell this and make the jump to a pro hunter? but i dont want to give someone else junk...any thought?
  7. $5.69 for 20 rounds
  8. academy in rivergate just got in some 7.62x39. thought i would let you guys know.
  9. i am new to reloading....i have only reloaded a couple hundred rounds and have loved it so far! the biggest thing that seems tricky to me is the crimp. how much? one of what i'm loading for is 44 mag both with lead and jhp. do i use i mic to measure the crimp? or just turn the die down to touch the brass than half a turn? how do i know that that is enough crimp? or is it really not that important? i'm reloading for bolt action, semi-auto rifles, revolvers and lever guns.
  10. get the bug? i got the bug!
  11. i'm trying to figure out if the prohunter is worth $300 more than the regular encore. it will be nice to be able to buy a barrel and make it a 375H&H or 30-06 or whatever i want to make it.
  12. does anyone have a T/C pro hunter or encore? i have been thinking about getting one but thought i would see if someone has had good experiences with them or bad ones. i thought it would work out nice to be able to go from BP to a centerfire.
  13. I would be there with guns and money in my hands!!
  14. just kidding....glock 27 with 3 different style mags(23 or 27 with finger ext. or 27 with flat mag), 2 different bianchi holsters for work or dress and a bianchi ankle holster for the 27. or my p3at with a pocket holster.

    rifle mounts

i have been trying to think of a good way to transport my hunting rifles when i go hunting, something other than a soft case...has anyone come up with a neat idea for a mount overhead or some soft of stand to go between the seats. something other than the cheap back window mounts. if you have come up with a neat way, do you have any pictures?
  19. pretty amazing that the deer shed a glock! i have never seen one of those. maybe i will get one next year.....
  20. it sounds like this is going to be quite the gathering...i bet we all walk away with 10 bullets! lol
  21. i'm all game for that glockster....I think i may have another 5 gallon bucket of WWs and i have given you 2 already. let me know when we start!
  22. i'm going to get my feet wet reloading for my 06 this year. i have heard great things about hornady 165gr interbonded. than i heard great things about the spitzer bullets, does anyone know from experience what is a geat expanding bullet that is consistant and doesnt fragment?

    338 win mag?

what i like about the cz is the mauser action, express sights, and the set trigger are all a great combo to have! it all depends on what kind of deal i can find on a new gun...i'm in no hurry to buy one.

    338 win mag?

well...i went out and shot the 375H&H and a 458win mag. had a great time!!! the 375 doesnt kick much more than my 30-06 and was very accurate for shooting off hand. the 458 win mag....this one is the thumper!!! 510grain bullet, it packs a nice little punch! i shot it several times with a big grin on my face!! i havent bought it yet but i have decided on a cz550 in 375h&h, just waiting for the right deal!! thanks for all your advice!!

    338 win mag?

i found a friend that has a 338 win mag and another friend that has 375H&H and a 458 win. i'm going to take all 3 and go shoot them saturday and see what i like...probably wind up going with the 375H&H. i did find some articles that says for small plains game that 30 06 or 7mm mag with the right ammo would be ok but is the smallest cal they recommend, i would rather be safe than sorry
