  1. just wondering how you set head spacing or how you determine it on a 357 mag lever action rifle? it is a win model 94.
  2. don't laugh at this question! i shoot alot of clays with my wifes family. we just line up and blast em from different positions. so, i'm not up on the termanology of all this...what is the difference in trap and skeet and is the same gun able to shoot both? i love an excuse to buy a new gun but my 11-87 premier contour 12ga does a great job on whatever i'm shooting.
  3. it's good to be reminded of these things!
  4. i was camping with the family this weekend where i normally hunt. and right by my favorite hunting spot i heard some yotes. sounds like they have a den down by my stands but i'm not sure where. i could here the little ones trying to howl. my question is...how will this affect my deer in the area? and how do i get rid of them or get them to relocate? i walked around down by where i thought i was hearing them and didnt see anything. any thought?
  5. Good luck!!!
  6. i hate that feeling of not being able to find a deer! thankfully there are some pretty nice people where i hunt that have helped me a time or two.
  7. it's funny how the left leaves things like that out of the media, so we look like gun slinging gang bangers.
  8. awesome story!
  9. I don't see how i can limit it to 5....but here goes(where did the number 5 come from? why not 35!) 1 Glock 27(have it) 2 M-4 tricked out with all the bells and wistles(have it) 3 remington 700 deluxe in 30-06 with leupold scope(have it) 4 sawed off 12GA pump for home defence(have it) 5 for my last choice i would have to take an old winchester(torn between the 1873 in 32-20 and 1895 in 30-06 but since the '06 is number 3) would reach for the 1873 as my number 5 gun.(have em) it's so sad to leave all the other guns out....
  10. thats something to be proud of right there and pass it on down to the kids!
  11. remington 700 BDL deluxe in 30-06 hand loaded Berger bullets with a leupy 4-12X vx-1 (1/2 MOA) or if it is bad weather i take my remington model 7 in 308 with a cheap tasco scope. it is a beater gun that i'm not affraid to let it get wet but still does a MOA group. or if i'm kicking it old school that day my winchester 1873 in 32-30 it's a fun one to take and makes you feel like an old cowboy!
  12. every stand i have is by a stream, there are 2 or 3 depending on how much it rains...they were flowing so much that i couldn't even hear myself think or hear any noise around unless it was very loud, so i doubt my calls were heard by the deer. i hope next time there will be more action.
  13. got soaked saturday morning but had an umbrella over my stand. didn't see anything all day in my stand....driving up the hill to get to camp and there was a pack of 4 does...they watched me while i found my range finder...52 yards....still watching...i loaded an arrow stepped out of the truck and let it go.....BAM my first deer with a bow and was at 52 yards! it ran 30 yards and died in the woods. i was pretty glad...well worth the getting wet all day in the stand!
  14. to all those hunting this weekend with their stick launchers have fun and good luck! i have the camper packed, 4wheeler in the truck and i am waiting for 5:30 so i can leave work and go hunting!!!!!!!!! i feel like a little kid on Christmas eve ready to open his presesnts in the morning! :Dbe safe and have fun!
  15. if i had land to lease, i would want to lease it to someone like you who i know will take care of it and respect the land as much as i do. i don't think your thread is out of line one bit.
  16. and lift gate
  17. they have a couple of the things....but not all of them. i need a complete bolt with extractor, firing pin, magazine cover and screw....a couple of other springs and pins....
  18. i'm looking for some parts for a 94AE trapper in 357mag. does anybody have a parts gun or know of where i can get some? i have tried numrick and they dont have anything. any clues?
  19. you still had to use to save yourself from harm...you never know what is gonna get you! it could have been the zombies!
  20. thats a good story...too bad they don't all end that well.
  21. i am very glad that i have never had to use my weapons to defend myself or my family but am always carrying and very glad to have them with me. i know there are alot of people on here and just wondering if anyone has a story or time when they actually needed their carry piece.
  22. DM is detachable magazine, very handy! i have one and i love it to death, but it does show up a mile away, its finish is like a show finish, very shiney. BDL is just a hinged floor plate so it does take a different stock than the DM.
  23. it doesn't say that is just for the 700. i have a model 7 as well, would that same procedure work for it?
