  2. i have bought ammo from them before..was hoping to buy from someone who had some stuff laying around.
  3. i'm looking for ammo, brass powder bullets dies or anything for 25-20 32-20 38-40 44-40 38-55 30 30 if you have some let me know, thanks
  4. i just picked up a 1892 winchester saddle ring carbine but the ring is missing from the saddle ring and i'm planning on buying a new one.....my question is how do you get the ring out of the side of the receiver? does it press in or do i have to take it apart and remove some screws? i have taken alot of winchesters apart but never a SRC so i'm not sure. i know the ring has a split in the middle of it but i'm sure you don't bend it apart because it would never be round again. anybody know how to get it off before i take her apart?

    encore pistol

i'm sure the recoil of it in 223 is not bad, but to hunt with it indiana it has to be at least 243 or larger. the 223 would have been a great choice with little recoil.

    encore pistol

i have an encore prohunter and i'm thinking of getting a 15inch barrel with a rifle cartridge like a 243 or 260 remington so i can hunt with it in indiana. does anybody have one or have any experience with them? kick like a mule? not accurate....accurate? let me know, thanks!
  7. got mine....still waiting on the gumption to put it on there.....lol
  8. i'm going on my first out of state hunt this weekend! i'm going to indiana to hunt the family farm on my wifes side, her grandpa said there were some real big deer up there but i will be happy with pretty much anything i shoot, but i really would love to shoot something big. i will let you guys know how it goes, i leave friday morning and probably come back sunday night or monday night.
  9. that's good stuff....
  10. doing a heater core in that f-150 is probably a 4-5 hour job, you have to pull the dash out if i remember correctly. i have had really good luck flushing the heater cores out with a water hose and air pressure....you will get wet but it works, use the air pressure while flowing water through it. air doesn't really pick the junk up, but a lot of water with some air pressure does wonders.
  11. alright, i just got some magazines for a 742 remington in 30-06...i have 2 of them but they are rough, very rough!!! they are rusty but you might be able to take them apart and reblue them...let me know who wants them...
  12. you could try to flush out your heater core in your truck, it is probably plugged up, you have an f150 right?
  13. some of those deer were pretty big, too bad he is mowing them over with a truck, what an idiot!
  14. PM sent on t-stat
  15. i have never had a 94 ae in 357 mag(i do now), this may be normal because of how short the shells are but when i'm loading it, if i let the loading gate close, the shell falls behind the loading gate and wont let me put anymore shells in it, you have to hold the loading gate open with the shell you loaded in there and than load another in and hold it open..... i have some in 30 30 and you can let the loading gate close you just have to push a little harder and it will push the shell into the mag tube and then you can load another one in there. any ideas?
  16. they were 357 mags. other than not hitting at 100(sure i just need mroe practice) the only issue was when i loaded it, if the loading gate closed and a shell fell behind the gate, it wouldn't let me load any more. i don't know if that just happens because the shells are so short or if something is wrong.
  17. my wife and i support an orphanage in africa. the man that runs it, his name is david, we talk a couple times a week on the phone, email and through text message. in his last email he told us of this city boy named allen, allen is 7 years old and is in a great deal of pain right now. allen was used in a sacrifice for some reason or other. witch doctors tell people if you sacrifice a young boy or girl you will be healed of this or that or get rich pretty much a cure all. for some reason someone found them(in africa it is not a crime to sacrifice a child) and took the boy before they killed him. he has severe cuts all over is head and body and they cut his penis off. i can't imagine the pain this little child is in right now, he is at the hospital right now expected to live. please include this small boy in your prayers as he needs them very much.
  18. I bought the winchester 94AE trapper in 357mag from jeremiah a few months ago, the one that had a bad reload shot in it and it did some damage. i went through it, found some good places to get parts, had it checked out by east side gun shop(thanks Kahrman) he gave the thumbs up so i went and shot it....i still have all my fingers! it shoots great and functions great as well! The gun is in great shape and is going to make a good start to my SRC collection. at 25 30 yards it did a very tight group...i only took 3 shots at 100 yards and never hit the target...i was in a hurry but looking back i probably should have held hi or adjusted my sights, i'm sure the 357 drops quite a bit at 100 yards. thanks to any and all for answers to any and all questions!
  19. i'm gonna turn my bow in and just put a few of those around my hunting grounds!
  20. i made a very nice set of swinging targets(hangs on chains), one is 12 inch round by 1inch thick, nothing goes through it, the 1/2 inch gets beat up quick! .223 goes through it with a FMJ. 06 and 308 just puts big craters in it. i have had some come back and hit me even at 30 and some at 50 yards but nothing at 80 or 100 yards.
  21. that one deer makes it all worth it! it is a great feeling when you find them on the ground.....i thought i wasnt going to take my 8 pointer home...it took a long time to find him! good job!
  22. boy i wish i was able to hunt 2-3 days a week! i'm lucky for 2-3 days a month! i wash all my clothes, yep, all of them in non sent soap and than i put my outerwear on when i get to where i hunt. there is a gas station about 2 miles down the road, i hop out or do it in the truck, normally there isnt anybody there at 4-5AM. the higher you are in the tree the better. are you only hunting mornings or are you hunting afternoons as well?
  23. i loved my conversion kit for my 75! wish i would have kept it!! need to get another one...
  24. good stuff to know! thanks, it may be going to a gun smith. or....does anybody on here have a go no go gauge i could use?
  25. so, as long as the bolt closes with a round in it it is good? i called winchester and they wouldn't even sell me a bolt, they told me i had to send the gun in so they could set the head spacing with a bolt. i did find a bolt from another company that will sell it to me.
