    henry 22

does anybody know anything about the henry 22 lever action rifle? been thinking about getting one to plink around with but would like to make sure they get a good review from my fellow friends on tgo before i look for a good deal on one. thanks!
  3. i just replaced 2 batteries in a duramax diesel truck, 1 battery is weak but the other is good. it is a side post 78DM series battery. it is a duralast battery, not the best brand, but a good battery for free. the other battery i believe still has warranty left on it at autozone. first one to come pick it up in madison gets it.
  4. if you shoot long range and need more distance you could try 150gr. i have a encore prohunter and 150gr is the max you can shoot in it. i shot an 8pt opening day of muz last year with 300gr SST hornady and 100gr 777 the inlet hole was as big as my thumb, the outlet was as big as my fist, pretty awesome expansion!! i just saw you are from gainesboro, i hunt in granville on eagle mountain. small world!
  5. i just sold my sks(didn't want to but did) i plan on replacing it with a quality AK because of more firepower, cheap mags and great reliability. i never did have a problem with my sks and loved it a lot.

    7mm vs 30 06

well, i won the auction on the 30-06 remington buckmaster. can't wait to get it and shoot it! i do prefer the 168 gr berger bullets over the 150 gr bullets. mainly because my remington 700 shoots great with them and i'm hoping my new one does as well. i plan on getting a H S precision stock, bipod and a 6-14 leupold vx-ii. right now it is going to get my leupold 3-9 until we move and i save up all the money to finish it. i will post pictures when i get it done! thanks for all the advice

not in bear country....but wouldn't mind!
  8. just watched a guy on tv hit a light bulb with his ar in 223 at 400 yards. looked like he had an eotech on there. he missed the first shot but second got it.

    7mm vs 30 06

i already have 2 30 06 and really enjoy them...one reason i was thinking of the 7mm was because i already have 2 of them and wanted to try something different..but like my friend is teaching me....don't try to reinvent the wheel. lol

    7mm vs 30 06

i have a leupold vx-1 4-12 x40 that i'm planning on putting on there if i win the auction. the longest shots i can take is 300-400 yards so i really don't see much need to get a 7mm, please i have a ton of brass and bullets for the 06, so i think this is my best choice.

    7mm vs 30 06

well, here is the gun i'm looking at getting, i sold my beater gun(remington model 7 in 308) and i'm buying this gun... Remington 700 .30-06 Sprg 3006 24in Brl Realtree : Bolt Action at GunBroker.com I'm going to call and talk to them before i bid, but it seems like a good buy and it has scope mounts already, leupold duel dovetail, and it should have the Xmark trigger group.
  12. i put the extended release on my G 23 and G27. i love them. the only time i have ever had the mag come out was when i go to the bathroom i set it on the toilet lid with the mag release on the toilet, and when i set it down it would push the release and let the mag come out later. this only happened 2 times before i found out what was causing it, i now set it down with the mag release pointing up and haven't had any more problems with it.

    7mm vs 30 06

i think i'm leaning towards a 30 06. i have all the reloading stuff for 06 and it is a great round. i will be hunting more deer than elk so i think 06 should be a better buy for me. i already have 2 30 06 but wanted to get a gun to beat up in the woods that i plan to do some long shots with as well. i will let you guys know what i get....when i get the funds...hopefully sooner than later!

    savage

went to pick up the 243 last night, they didn't have it in 243, only 7mm08 and 270 so i passed on the deal, i need my money more than that gun! lol
  15. my82cam

    savage

i went back to academy thinking about buying the 243 to replace the ar i just sold. they only have 243 and 7m-08. didn't really want either of those calibers as a yote gun so i passed to wait for something else at a better time when i have more money. they have a savage 223 for 299 but didn't have the extra money. grrr moving is taking all my gun money!

    7mm vs 30 06

academy has a stevens 200 in 7mm-08 on sale for 199. i don't really know that much about the 7-08.

    7mm vs 30 06

what do you mean you didn't care for some of the results with the 7mm?

    7mm vs 30 06

7MM has a touch more kick to it, i think people would rather buy a 06 to shoot a lot because of ammo and less reecoil.

    savage

I'm glad we aren't limited to having one gun only!

    savage

has anybody seen the special they have at academy? a stevens savage model 200 in 270 or 243 for $199! that is cheap! i felt it, doesn't feel bad but was kinda barrel heavy and stock light, might kick more than a normal 270. did some reading last night on it and it is supposed to be a good rifle.

    7mm vs 30 06

all right guys, lets get something started on the 7mm rem mag vs the good old 30 06. which is your favorite or better in your eyes? i have heard a couple of old guys state that the 7 mm is to skinny and the bullet doesn't expand on the small deer here in tn and just puts small holes in them. than i have heard other guys say it just knocks them over! i lean more towards a 30 06 but want some of your inputs on the idea.
  22. my82cam

    savage

i will have to work on that part...i hope it performs well so i can tell people it may be a savage but it shoots great! it better do MOA at 200 yards.
  23. my82cam

    savage

i have a chance to trade a gun for a savage tactical 308 with simmons 6-20 scope and harris bipods, it seems to be a good deal. it doesn't have the accutrigger but is in good shape. anybody have any experience with this kind of gun? i'm looking at it to be an accurate beater gun that will take some wear and tear over my 700 deluxe in 30-06 with leupold. any comments good or bad? this will be my first real savage and i bleed remington and winchester so it is hard to swallow getting a savage....
  24. wow!
