  1. i just got the gun......i'm fixing a gun for another TGO member in payment for fixing his fathers winchester 22(he wants to give it to his son) he gave me this 12 ga. they were both in the same gun sock out in an old barn. they will both keep me busy for a while! the 12ga appears to have very little wear on the mechanical parts inside just kinda gunky. it is getting a good cleaning
  2. ok, that makes sense that it lifts the lever on the return, but i wonder why the action wont open all the way unless i open the lift gate? not i will have to put it together and see what happens. the barrel is very rusty at the last 6 inches. if i cant sand all the pits and rust off and reblue it i will have to put a new barrel on it.
  3. i'm trying to fix a winchester defender 12 ga pump(needs reblued-kinda rusty-may need a barrel) the problem is.....the lift gate doesn't lift up when you cycle it, you have to push it up with your finger in order to get a shell to raise to load and also to let the forearm come all the way back to finish cocking it. i took it apart and found that the lever in the back that sticks up(it's attached to the lift gate and a spring) and is pushed back by the bolt going to the back of the action this lever is what flicks the lift gate up. if i push the lever back it doesn't lift the gate but if i press it downward and back it will flick the gate up. the bolt only presses the lever back and not down and back. any ideas? this may not make sense but i explained it the best i could! lol

for some reason the thumbhole stock doesn't float my boat, never been a huge fan of them on an AK. i will shoot it and see but i'm sure i am going to deban in.

so, if i do the FCG (3) pistol grip(1) gas piston(1) and flash hider(1) that is 6 and it will be fine to use whatever mags, forearm, folder stock or wood stock that i want? is there another hard part on the inside that could be USA made so i can use a wood pistol grip instead of the tapco black. i think an ak looks best when it is all wood furniture or a nice underfold.

good ifno, do you know what you have to do to make it 922r compliant? i do not want the thumbhole stock and would rather have the normal ak stock on it but want it to be legal. any thought?

all right guys, i'm looking at a mac 90 norinco. can you guys tell me the pro/ cons of the norinco mac90. i have heard great things about them. i don't care for the stock and would rather have the pistol grip. they can be converted correct? any info quick would be great, i'm trying to make my mind up to get it or not. thanks guys!
  12. thank you sir!
  13. 700 beats a 710 all day long!
  14. i have a remington 700 and it does not have the jeweled bolt but i really would like the bolt to be worked and jeweled. does anybody know if this is possible or is it stuck being black?
  15. the most accurate gun i have is a remington 700 bdl dm deluxe in 30-06. shoots hole through hole at 100 yards with hand loaded burger bullets. i have shot some weatherbys and wasn't to impressed. sounds like i haven't shot the right weatherby yet huh?
  16. that's funny, i have them in the reverse order of what you do! remington, savage, weatherby but that's MO lol
  17. what about a .32 darranger? Just Kidding!!!!
  18. my favorite deer rifle to hunt with right now is my remingon 700 buckmaster 30 06 with nikon buckmaster scope! the gun shoots great but the trigger pull was awful! 7lbs of awful trigger pull! i have never felt a remington that had such a bad trigger but still would shoot 1inch group. anyway, my buddy just took it and did a trigger job on it and wow!! what a difference it makes! is adjusted to 2lbs 8-10 ounce! it feels awesome! i can't believe what a big difference that made in the gun, i can't wait to shoot it! thanks glockster157!!!!
  19. i worry about submoa when i hunt...i always take my most accurate rifle. i have oppoprtunity take 325 plus yard shots and always want the best gun for the job! you never know what will pop up!
  20. i was looking on gunbroker and found some weatherby 223 and 22-250 pretty cheap. like 350 or 400 or somewhere in that area. but than they have ones that claim submoa and are prices around 700+. should i stick with my normal favorite bolt gun(remington 700) or try a weatherby or a savage? i know a lot of people here love the savage for the cost and accuracy. what do you guys think?
  21. isn't it funny how a glock 23 can make you so happy? i just picked one up off of my friend who is buying a kimber. gun is mint lnib other than 130 rounds down the pipe. right now it is standart but i'm planning on putting ext. slide and mag release and night sights and a lazer light combo for the bedside carry!!
  22. the more i think about it, i already have 12-15 rifles to hunt deer with and only a couple to use on yotes and bobcats, so, i think i'm going to go with the 22-250 as it may be a little better for yotes than a 243. just my thought of the day!
  23. +1 i would love to go back to the days of carrying a colt peacemaker and a 1873 winchester both in 44-40!
  24. there are lots of bag boys in africa! hehe
  25. +1 DNR has some good service! i have talked with andrew rush at twra, he will be able to tell you what to do. i would give him a call 615 293 7701 or 1 800 624 7406
